An acquaintance of mine told me about this place, so I decided to check it out for lunch on a Sunday when I was in the area. Im glad I did. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive, but didnt "bug" us while we were eating. It was a very nice balance of making sure we were taken care of and not constantly checking in. I had the Jambalaya. It was a very tasty blend of chicken, shrimp and andouille. I only wish it had a little more kick to it. I could have added one of the many varieties of hot sauce that was on the table, but theres nothing like cooking in a little heat. Still, I did enjoy it. I was disappointed that they didnt have corn bread available except on the brunch buffet. That seems a staple in any southern cooking - including Louisiana dishes. That would be a great offering to include. Very good place. If you like Cajun style dishes, I recommend you head out to Belleville and try this place out. Lastly, go around the back to park. Theres not a lot of parking available on the street out front, but theres a large lot in the back.

Been on me try list for well over a year, ,, the excitement grew as I read dozens of reviews around the web. A 22 mile drive to downtown Belleville been a couple decades since last visit. The Sunday lunch Buffet caught me eye $12.99 noon till 3 pm every week is truly a hit. Outrageous delicious food in a beautiful decorative interior, a mega wrap around bar and outside patio. New Orleans style with a mega Gator on the roof and on your plate too. Buffet be Catfish, Rib Tips, Chicken, Mac, Taters, Salad, Jambalaya n more, also includes Omelets made to order in the back kitchen waitress delivery and Waffles too with Strawberry, Butter n Syrup. The hit Kitchen Sink Omelet and Catfish OMG with a few Chicken Wings n Ribs Tips this place get 2 thumbs up. Shout out to our fabulous waitress Ashley D a superstar. The whole experience made for a special Sunday treat we looking forward to again soon. Highly recommended folks for a unique day or date night out.

The atmosphere is nice, the staff was on point (the manager is reading this our server was Tony but we were greeted by 3 servers with 30 seconds. Very impressive.) The portions were largish but for the price they should be. The food was eh. My buddy liked his personally I have been to Cajun restaurants before and the food was clearly tamed and commercialized to encompass a wider market leaving me with a feeling of not really eating Cajun food at all. I know that Cajun food does not need to kick your teeth in with heat but it should be more flavorful than a taco Bell taco. There "Blacked" catfish was maybe mildly sauted and I think they had pepper in the room. Their Gator appetizer either came premade and frozen or was made to taste like it. TL;DR To sum it up if you never had Cajun before you can go here and pretend you have but didnt be shocked if you ever get the real deal and it tastes way better.

My family visited this restaurant on a Sunday and shortly after receiving our food a staff member who was not our waiter delivered a message from the manager that weve been there too long and had to leave. And, that they have a time limit of 1.5hrs to eat. (This was not posted anywhere). My father in-law was still eating his food and I had just packed mine up waiting to pay my bill when they delivered this news to us in the most unprofessional and rude way possible. Not only was that rude to us as the customer but it also put the waiter in very bad position; of potentially missing out on a tip because of how upset they made us. Instead of offering us desert after dinner they offered us the door. If we were mean and vindictive people the waiter would NOT have received a tip, but were not. Needless to say I will NEVER visit this restaurant again.

If youre looking for authentic New Orleans cuisine, then this isnt the place for you. I went there last week and was expecting high quality traditional cajun food from a place that claims to specialize in New Orleans cuisine. The quality was like eating at an Applebees; which, in my opinion, Applebees is better. The price is awfully high. It was $40 just for my girlfriend and I, and she ordered only an appetizer as her main entrée. I had the jumbalaya, and it tasted like it came from a can, and tasted like they didnt spend very much time preparing it. Ive had better jumbalya from boxes. Although I didnt very much appreciate their quality, authenticity and prices, their services were very good. The waitress was always there when we needed her. But, I advise not wasting your hard earned money here.

I took my parents here for our weekly dinner outing. We read the good reviews and the Bayou did not disappoint! Our sever Austin C. was great, knowledgeable and alot of fun. The food was GREAT! The rolls and garlic butter was a splendid surprise. My mom almost filled up on the bread before the main course even got there. We all ordered catfish and we were shocked at how huge the pieces were. The fish was delicious but we think it may be swai and not catfish...but it still tasted good. The cole slaw was on point and the ribs were crazy tender. My mom said the red beans and rice was surprisingly done right. I am so excited to bring my friends here. And I hope the Bayou doesnt change a thing.

Our first time here, and we loved it. Ashley D was our waitress and an awesome job she did, so friendly and helpful. The place is very original and authentic, neat atmosphere. When I looked over the menu I spotted vegetarian eggplant etouffee, never heard off it. Ashley assured me I would love it, it was cooked fresh as I ordered it. And she was right, I loved it. Not to spicy just right, so delicious. I even bought some sauce to take out so I can have it again. Vegatables were nice and crisp with great flavor, you could tell how fresh everything was. Gluten free items too. Oh and yes my husband enjoyed his grilled chicken Caesar salad.

Our family eating out experience has come a long way from "Six happy meals, and a Coke." Kids order interesting things now, and dad gets samples of everything. The big appetizer-with-alligator from Bayou Grill in Belleville MI was excellent. And you shoulda seen Charles jumbo shrimp, Roberts ribs, Theresas (what was that again?), Angelas shrimpnrooms over spaghet, and my crawfish étouffée. And to finish, real beignets (smaller than Cafe du Monde, but more of them). Only thing missing was a splash of zydeko. Dunno why bout that. Anyway, well be back.

We have been going here for about 4 years since moving out to Willis area. NEVER have we been even remotely disappointed with a meal. My favorite place to spend my Friday evening. Just got back and had my favorite - dozen oysters on the half shell and Craw-Fish Etiouffie or however you spell it. The other half gets the same except on eggplant. Drinks are generous and price is beyond fair for the quality of food! Should be on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives! Would love to know how they prepare the craw-fish!
