Ordered the grilled cheese which I had had before and was very good previous times. Waitress failed to tell me that they were out of rye bread and instead just brought me the sandwich on Texas toast (which I absolutely despise) without saying anything. Had I known that the sandwich would come this way, I would have absolutely ordered something different. The sandwich was absolutely disgusting on the different bread and the waitress made no efforts to accomidate us other than telling us that they were out of the bread so thats how it came. I also asked for water before the meal even came and never received any. After we complained about the sandwich the waitress was extremely standoffish and just dropped the check off without saying a word to us other than that she didnt know that they were out of bread until she put the order in (at which point she obviously chose not to come tell me they were missing a key ingredient). No manager or any superior was alerted by the waitress to the situation. Overall this was a very poor experience from a restaurant that I once really enjoyed. We will not be returning and would never recommend. The waitress, whose name was Alaina according to the check but she never actually introduced herself, was extremely rude the whole time, I would have ignored it up until the whole ordeal with the bread but her handling of that and afterwards was extremely unprofessional and flat out unacceptable. I know that bread doesnt sound like that big of an issue but it did really effect the quality of the sandwich and the way that the waitress handled things just made everything worse. I normally dont write reviews but I felt that I had to since I wasnt afforded the opportunity to speak to anyone about it or the chance to order something different.

Good Food! They are suppose to be known for their Wurst but I would say that their burgers are second to none, especially the Southerner! The Italian sausage I had with hot peppers was good, same with the pbr poached wurst. The nacho tots are also good. I could see this place becoming an Ypsilanti institution. It could even bring some yuppies and east coast wannabes over from A2. I like the owner and his bar manager. Good guys and they know the business. Before you know it this place will will get five stars from me. Only complaint is the wait on food. They have some wait staff thats still figuring out their the job and they have a system useing smart phones and iPads which is kinda cool. Maybe a little confusing for some of the staff. Ive had a couple of bills come up wrong. Great place. Check out thier website. But please dont judge the place by the looks of their site. The menu and mission statement speak for themselves. Let me get sum Shots n Tots!

I really love this place. The staff is almost always friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is great, and the food and drinks are always excellent. They started strong when they opened, and have been consistent ever since. I always recommend the place whenever anyone I know is in or near Ypsi. The sweet potato tots with the marshmallow fluff dip? Fuhgeddaboudit. Shut up and eat it. No you cant try mine, order your own. The meats and beers are fantastic. I like meat and I like beer, so its no surprise that I like the joint. Oh, and its also especially fun to choose music on the jukebox thingy that you think the crowds going to hate. Interrupt people playing Pantera to put on some Barbie Girl, or perhaps disrupt a series of Kanye tracks with something by Skinny Puppy. Have fun with it!

My boyfriend and I tried out The Wurst Bar on Sunday night for dinner. We love good beer and brats, so were looking forward to trying it out. The beer selection was pretty good - for a place that serves brats however, we expected more German beer. My boyfriend loved his brat (the PBR), my burger was just okay - a bit dry and not much flavor. We both ordered the tots expecting some gourmet and yummy twist on the traditional tot. We were disappointed to find them tasting similar to the frozen tots our moms used to make. Overall, it was just okay. The service was great and the pretzel buns were really good, but they need some more menu options if they want to make it. If you dont like brats, youre out of luck.

Great beer selection. Good service. Good staff. Nice atmosphere, although a little loud, its possible to have a conversation here and that is much better than a lot of other bars. I am consistently unhappy with the food. They serve a variety of Tater Tot based dishes which are okay, but I did not like the scotch egg at all and they serve cold cooked peppers on some of their brats which I thought was just plain foul. They make sauerkraut which is not fermented long enough for my tastes either. The food isnt bad in my opinion, but its just not something I recommend. If you think youre like me youll stick "tots" and drinks.

Awesome burger and beer. Menu is decently varied to suit most; drink list is also lengthy, with many local choices. First time visiting and would love to come back. Seating choices range from large-group tables to bar seats, with plenty of couples tables between. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity is just right. Lives up to its "bar" branding, so if youre looking for someplace to have quite conversation look elsewhere. No complaints for the staff; courteous and quick service. If you call yourself a local you have to visit; if youre just traveling through, you too must visit. Enough said.

More beers on tap than I could ever name. The food is magnifique. 4 generations of my family have gone there and they all love it (me,my parents, grandma, and cousins kids). The crowd there is always great, you will make at least one new friend per visit. The staff is also awesome especially when it comes to making sure that you will like the beer and food you order. The menu ranges from ultra canivorous to gluten free to vegan so its also great place to bring friends with all sorts of diets. Be sure to order off their specials board, you wont be disappointed.

Oh, the wurst bar. The crowd is a mix of toe Ypsilanti natives and your college kids. You certainly get that Brooklyn vibe at The wurst bar. I love that they have a juke box, helpful staff and delicious food. The Chef specials are amazing, they have unusual and flavorful wurst. The tots are also a must try. They have great burgers but they also have a lot of vegetarian and gluten free options. Their cocktails are not their strong point and Im not the biggest fan of their beer selection but I truly enjoy coming here.

The food is great, from standard brats and burgers to more exotic offerings like brats made from snake. Great selection of beers, too. However, dont go here in a hurry; even if the place is empty, the service is somewhat leisurely. Weve never had bad service, just not as quick as wed like. That said, its a great addition to the Ypsi food scene. Theres no place like it anywhere near it, and go with a small group so you can talk and have a beer while youre waiting :)

So many great brats to try. Lobster roll was great and would get again. PBR was good. Andouille was ok (a bit dry). Disappointing that they run out of certain meats even mid-day. They didnt have the bison/lamb/swiss or the cheddar. My friend mentioned they ran out of lobster before. Tots were great. Atmosphere is laid back and sporty. Would be great for sports events. Nice staff and seemed clean overall. Great drink selections and seasonal changes keeps it new.
