Great Plains Burger Co gets it exactly right. Ive stopped by 4 or 5 times now, and every time Im happy. Quality: Everything is fresh, made to order, patties made there, potatoes turned into fries, onions grilled, etc.. The turkey burgers are outstanding, coming from a number of local turkey farms in the area. The boxes of potatoes around the restaurant remind you where the fries come from (no frozen machine-mass-produced fries here). Openness: I love the open kitchen, where you can see efficiency, cleanliness, and attention to detail. The owner clearly has a good rapport with the staff, and the team of grillers, fryers, shake-makers, cashiers, etc.. seem happy. The open kitchen demonstrates their pride in what they produce. No foodie-snobbery: Great Plains Burger Co demonstrates that eating fresh, local, well-prepared food does not require you to spend an absurd amount of money, or have an attitude. They are as fast as in-and-out burger in getting you a hot meal. 1/3 pound burgers are under 5 dollars -- on a fresh Zingermans bun. The decor is clean, bright, open, and simple. One recommendation - I think the shakes could be a bit better. Now, the ice cream is great and local, but I find the shakes a bit too sweet. Id prefer a strawberry shake made from vanilla ice-cream and fresh strawberries (rather than strawberry ice cream) -- but maybe thats easier at my home in California where the strawberries are more plentiful.

Order for myself and coworkers who have limited time for lunch - arrived at restaurant at 11:15 and doors were still locked (had ordered ahead) and the gentleman cleaning stared at me and continued to take down chairs even when the restaurant is supposed to open at 11. As he came to unlock the door he did not acknowledge that he was late to opening and was very rude- just stated that food was ready. Got to the check out and girl working refused to acknowledge I was standing there- finally asked and she still wouldnt help I again had to wait for the other gentleman to come back to get my food. He put in my order then never got my food- I asked if he could grab it and he stared at me again. Had I not been getting food for others I would have left it there- $35 for a burger and fries and the worst service Ive ever had just isnt worth it. Will not be back.

The food is mostly average but more expensive than its actual value. They manage to make their fries slightly crisp on the outside but somehow squishy on the inside. The texture lends itself to being gross once youre actually eating them. The burger suffers in the sense that the beef quality cant stand on its own. The beef is dry and tasteless. The entirety of my burgers flavor came from the BBQ sauce and cheese. Ultimately after the price of my food and the quality I would recommend you seek a five guys out immediately. Most lower priced restaurants would give you a greater cost to quality ratio. The establishment itself, at least the Plymouth location was clean and tidy with a somewhat industrial design, no faults there. Summary: overpriced for mediocre at best food.

I worked as a manager for about two years and let me just say they take advantage of their employees! The boss expects only certain people to clean and do certain tasks and favorites other people and doesnt get on them to do any of the cleaning. Also, he talked me into salary so he didnt have to pay me overtime! He made me, a college student, work 50 hours a week just to make bare minimum. He doesnt acknowledge any good work his employees do and just starts expecting stuff to happen. I was basically doing a lot of General Manager tasks and getting paid like a team member because this employee under me was only making about a dollar less!!!! Horrible place - dont work or eat there!!!

Rudest service ever. Called right at eight thirty, told me they didnt take over the phone orders after eight thirty, then as I am still talking about to explain we were five minutes up the road, well just come in, she hangs up on me. Then we get there and doors are locked, apparently theyre closed, but didnt say anything on the phone. Seriously though, we were going to order three burgers and some fries. Thankfully we had much better service next door at QDobas, sure we didnt get our double buffalo bugers, but they know how to treat customers. Not gonna have mine our my co workers business any time soon!

This was the worst lunch experience I had in a while. There was v for different cleaner type smells as I walked in. I pressed on. The menu showed for special burgers (no idea what type of meat) so that chose one. This was my first time here so for a newbie, there was no additional help our instructions. I think ended up with dinner tour if veggie or turkey burger and it was pretty gross. The chili cheese fries were decent but they were way to big. And the bathroom almost made me pass out because of the cleaner/air freshener smell. It was toxic. So I wasted $15 today but at least I know to stay away now.

The burgers here are way better than the burgers youd find at a Chilis! We had stopped buying burgers at resturants because they are no where near what we could make ourselves at home and now Great Plains is the only place we will buy one. You can tell that everything is freshly made for you with fresh products. We have since moved from Ann Arbor but will swing through town on our way across the state just to get one of these burgers. The bill for the two of us is usually around $19 with 2 burgers (one double) and a basket of fries.

Dont believe these nay sayers. Im visiting from Colorado and this is the first place I looked up and tried and its awesome. If you have Velcro shoes you might not be able to make your own burger selections and for you theres a menu of awesome selections which is what my friend had. I made a buffalo, egg, bacon on a pretzel bun burger with gouda and pepper jack and couldnt be happier with what came out. Only here for three days and will try to make it back before leaving. Wish they made a rueben..

My experience at Great Plains Burger was awful. The food was not prepared well, there was a not a single clean table in the restaurant when I arrived, and then I found hair in my food. When I wrote on a comment card that I wanted to complain about the cleanliness and service, I was never contacted, and put on an e-mail list, which I also asked not to be put on. I will not be back.

This place used to be great. But now even the fries dont taste so good. Everything started going downhill slightly before they changed and expanded their menu around 2013. Both of the last times Ive been there the food has been very slow. in a mostly empty restaurant. Now in 2017 the fries are not as good as they used to be. I probably wont be back here again.

Not overly impressed with the food here. Burgers always just flung out on your plate overdone for health reasons I guess. But they never ask how they should be done so I guess it is my fault. Dont see this place as having a public offering on the stock market any time soon. Food at Wendys a block away a bit better at half the price.
