Ive had 2 negative experiences here that have made me not want to go back ever again. The first I went with 2 of my friends. The server was not friendly and was awkward. They give you a glass of room temp water with no ice. The meals were just ok. The best thing Ive had there was their potato chips and French onion dip. The short rib while good was not seasoned at all. And the next day I got extremely ill. Idk if it was that or something else I had that day but Ill never know. Our bill came to $175. We asked to split it 3 ways. I checked my account later that night an saw that I was charge not only the 3rd of the bill but also the original $175 bill. So now Ive been charged over 200 on my account. Thank god I had the money in there. When i went to talk too the manager he was nice but told me the office might be closed so he couldnt check the situation out for me. I told him Id wait there until something was done about it bc it was 175 of my money being held hostagr. Turns out the server charged my card then reversed it but never said anything. So then the bank was the one holding my funds for a full week bc of it. The manager gave me a $25 gift card and apologized. The second visit was only bc I had the gift card. I didnt even want to go back. A different server this time who was much more friendly but just as awkward in handling everything. She reached over both of us to grabbed the extra silverware at our 4 top. Then brought over my gfs drink on a serving try witj a few other drinks on it and had my gf take it off the tray. I ordered the local dip sandwich that funny enough didnt come with anything to dip it in. No au jus sauce. She got one of the chicken and rice bowls whicb was good except every piece of chicken she bit into had that white muscle/tendon piece in it. So on a small plate she had all the chicken bits she had to spit out on it. After the 3rd piece she stopped eating her meal. I realized half way through my sandwich that the meat on it was the short rib I had before that may have made me sick the last time. So I stopped eating too. When the server came back over and asked us how everything was my gf did just ok. When the server asked why we didnt like it my gf told her everything. We asked if my sandwich had the short rib on it and she said it was a different cut of meat. She also said that sje was surprised that we didnt like our food bc everyone does and its rare that anyone complains about it. We asked her not to say anything to the manager. She did as he came right over which was the same man a dealt with for my over charge. He said the same thing. That he had been there a month and a half and he hadnt heard anyone complain about the food. We asked about my sandwich in which he confimred it was the short rib. Although he comped our entire bill we told them to keep the gift card because we werent coming back ever again. We tipped the server so she could at least get something but she made us look like we were the assholes in the situation. Moral of the story is the food is ok if you get the right thing but the servers are not trained properly at all. They have no knowledge of the menu or the ingredients in the dishes. They dont know how to be professional and personable. The manager doesnt really no how to handle complaints either. Its really not worth going to when their food is just sub par.

Great service. However I had to send back my Chicken and waffles twice. First because the chicken was raw. Second time the waffle was cold/half thawed. Is it that hard to make a waffle? It looked fresh made. Was not. Taste otherwise was fine. They removed the charge for my meal. My wifes French Toast was great. And the bacon was excellent. I would give them another try. But I am skeptical. I only send thing back if they are bad. But now that I know factually that some things may not be fresh made... It makes it hard for me to return. Again, just one experience. I am not trashing them.

This place doesnt have a huge menu, but what they do offer is excellent. My go-to vegetarian dish is the stuffed squash- SO GOOD! Also heard good reviews about the meatloaf. Good atmosphere- but wish it were a little busier for nights out. Its kind of isolated in its location. Definitely would recommend for a really well-done meal. This one has tons more parking than its counterpart in Somerville and is off a main road.

Absolutely wonderful lunch at TheLocal..great food, great service and wonderful ambiance. Allen the General Manager was very educational about a beer we all loved and even wrote down recommendations. Crispy shrimp bowl was unbelievable and the warm skillet cookie was an enjoyable surprise. We will be recommending and coming with all the neighbors!!!!

This place does not even accept international license for age. Not even New Hampshire temporary license with photo. They need Mass Id so international travellers or Not a Massachusetts resident is not allowed?? It was the worse experience for me in Boston area. And top of it, food is worse and the serving aswell. Would never go again there.

just ok. steak tips a little dry especially for medium order. fries soggy. waitstaff was a little pushy...bringing the desert menu while we were eating was a first for us. and there were open tables all around. not worth the wait. too bad, have heard good things, hope other experiences better

When busy they cant handle the rush waited 20 minutes for a drink. Then 30 to get asked if i wanted food then another 30 to get a refill on my drink.Bad service. Went and sat bar. I was calling the bartender to get their attention for other people waiting. I will not return.

Ordered on Grub Hub. Food taste was good. Tomato soup was cold, grilled cheese was soggy. Crispy chicken wasnt so crispy , crispy fried were soggy, home made chips were soggy. I think k they should not do take out.i will try as a sit down next time.

Ordered off grub hub and waited over an hour and a half for 2 burgers with fries. Ordered the burgers medium well and it was actually raw on the inside and the fries were cold. Extremely disappointed and will never order from here again.

We read the mixed reviews and were apprehensive, but found that we had pretty tasty, healthy food & excellent service. Might have been because it was Tues night, which is relatively the quietest..

Great brunch choice, not too busy with different menu options. Attentive wait staff knowable about the offering. Chicken and waffle with a mimosa is a perfect Sunday treat!

Terrible. Ordered 2 burgers and they were raw and the fries were cold and soggy took over an hour and a half for delivery 2 miles away. Dont waste your time.

Very mediocre. Extremely slow service, very loud, the staff is quite rude. I didnt hate the food but I didnt love it. Wouldnt come back.
