Oh dear - how could this restaurant Visit been any worse. We came to this lovely establishment to celebrate a childs birthday. Right away the hostess had an attitude and was rude to us. We were a party of six with two elderly people and a few customers that were on the "extra-large" size. The unpleasant hostess decided to seat us at a booth. This would not normally be a problem except that these booths are more like hightop tables. This made it difficult for the elderly customers to get into and especially difficult for the large-size customers to get into. We asked the hostess multiple times to re-seat us to a regular table. There were plenty of tables available and each time she either said nothing (ignoring us) or she said "Well....." and rolled her eyes. On our third request (more like a demand) she finally acquiesced and did us the great favor of seating us at a regular table. Wow! We Felt so honored!! Unfortunately our unpleasant evening was not over. Upon trying to sit at the regular table the birthday boy attempted to pull the seat closer to the table. Unbeknownst to us, the seat was broken. As he lifted the chair to try to pull up to the table his finger got stuck in between the seat and the frame of the chair. He started screaming and crying. It was so sad to see this child crying and screaming in a restaurant clutching his swollen finger. And especially on his birthday!! We all felt so bad for him. The server brought us some ice and tried to calm the birthday boy but the harm had already been done. His finger was extremely swollen and hurt a lot. He said " I just want to go". The manager tried to be nice to our party and gave us free appetizers but his birthday night had already been ruined. We quickly ate their mediocre food and left. Nobody wants to spend their birthday in tears. I wish I had a happy ending to this story but unfortunately I dont. Because of what happened, I ended up writing to the corporate offices and explained the situation. The only thing I requested dear readers, was an apology from management. The area director I spoke to did apologize verbally to me and said he was going to send me a gift card. I explained to him we did not want a gift card (as we would not be revisiting this restaurant) but what we DID want was an apology to my son. The area managers response was "we will put something in the mail". And we waited... As threatened, a gift card with a card did arrive. The only thing the card said was "I hope your finger feels better". No apology or taking of responsibility for the accident. How hard would that of been to add "We are very sorry" to the card?? Apparently too hard for the management of the British Beer Company. As I promised, I sent back the gift card with a letter indicating that is not what we wanted to begin with. All we ever wanted was a simple apology to the injured child from management. We have not heard from the company since. Do you think an apology is too much to ask for, dear readers? I dont think it is. If a company wants to keep its customers they need to try to fix what is wrong. And blithely ignoring their customers and not taking responsibility for something that was clearly their fault is not how management should act. We are disgusted at the handling of this matter and implore all readers to not visit the British Beer company in Westford ever again. If an apology is too much to ask for you can imagine how much effort they put into your food. If youve eaten there you already know. Do the math. Its not very good.

I went here a few months ago for a show and i will never set foot in this place again. We waited at the bar for what seemed like forever, when the guy finally served us, he was extremely rude. My friend ordered her drink 1st while i was still deciding.. when i noticed he was about to hand over her drink, i said fk it and just ordered the same thing before he disappeared and ignored me again- he had the nerve to reprimand us stating You couldnt tell me that in the first place? THEN when i tasted it, it was all soda water- when i returned the drink he didnt take my word for it and went and tasted the soda to make sure i wasnt... lying?? I never have much to say about the quality of service but this place was just unbelievable. I wish i got the guys name- he was probably in his late 30s or 40s.. prrrobably shouldve known how to talk to people at that age, just saying. Hope you enjoyed your $0 tip guy! The rest of the experience was horrible too, and while not the establishments fault; I found the crowd of people there to be rude and snobby in general. The lot of us left within an hour or two. Im happy to say Ive warned people about this place since, and Ive successfully scared them away. People want to have decent service when shelling out their money- you guys should take note of that especially seeing as how other people have complained about the same issues with this place in these reviews.

Most Horrible treatment, I went for a 23 yr anniversary lunch with my daughter and husband (at 12;30- 12:45 p.m.) in Westford facility, the waitress Nicole came and gave menu (however we never saw the specials of the day) we had ordered drinks; 30 min. later another waitress Megan came over and had noticed we had been sitting for a long time (looking around wondering were our drinks were ! ) Megan asked if we needed help, and she would place our order, Megan was amazing true to her job , all of the sudden Nicole came over with drinks, stated that the bar was busy & she was under stress!, really this is not what a customer wants to hear, you always need to acknowledge your table! (and we watched her talking with the Hostesses in front, The bar was not that busy.) we had then asked Megan to be our waitress, So here is the most disturbing news, Nicole was spoken to by Megan, she was told that we would love to have Megan as our waitress, Right after the confrontation from Megan , Nicole came over to our Table and stated that she will no longer be our server, and that is how it should be! WOW we shall never visit that establishment again and have told all our friends and family, But Megan was the best server , and gave us 2 free desserts, Megan deserves the award for employee of the month with her C. S. skills.... however I have let many Know never to go their with that Bitter waitress....

Let me get this straight - they take off the two best appetizers on the menu: the Fried Pickle Spears and the Baked Brie, and decide to replace the appetizers menu with generic homogenized garbage that I can find at any Applebees/Outback/Longhorns: Artichoke Dip, Coconut Shrimp, Chicken Wings, etc. There is NOTHING on the normal appetizers menu worth ordering, when I can get the same things much cheaper at other restaurants, like during the Applebees half off apps times. Im willing to pay a premium for good and/or hard to find dishes, like the Poutine appetizer on the temporary specials menu, but of course that was sold out on a Saturday night, because it was the only appetizer worth a damn on the menu. Not only that, they didnt have the Raspberry or Strawberry Samuel Smith Ales in stock. They must have monkeys running inventory. This used to be a place where you could get some cool food and beers. No longer.
