Ill start my 2-star rating by saying that the food IS good, but it ends there. The TVs are horribly placed so forget about this as a "sports bar", the atmosphere is dark and the menu is a bit pricy but the thing I cant stand about the Joshua Tree is that it smells like a bathroom, like straight up urine when you walk past it, or get into the entryway. And its been like this for MONTHS. They need to hose down the front of their restaurant or hire a professional cleaning company like ServPro to peoples appetites from being lost once they come within 10 feet of the front door.

BIG student hangout, since its near Tufts. Avoid if you are not looking for a bro-y sports bar experience. That being said, I had fun in my mid 20s dancing the night away there. The dance floor is tiny but the music is great. The clientele are definitely on the younger side, so if you are into that scene, go for it. During the day, however, the truffle fries are yummy and they have a nice, large beer selection. Not a bad place to catch a game with a group, if you can get seating. Overall, not bad during daylight hours!

So we used to go to Joshua tree for a sponsor bar for dodgeball but we stopped because they were screwing us on the deals. We went back for my birthday for the whole league and I warned them of how many people would be going and they werent prepared still. Slow service as usual and poor customer service. The beer lines are dirty and the bartenders suck. Management does not appreciate business and what we bring to the place. Overall terrible experience and would not recommend going there for even just basic drinks.

Everytime I go into this place. I see this horribly angry man with a gotee. Someone told me he was the general manager. I overheard his racist conversation the other day with a waitress. The guy is a total #$!. Ive been in there a few times and everytime i see this guy he never smiles. He hides behind the bar and does nothing. I mean your the general manager. Isnt it your job to be friendly with the customers. What a JOKE!

I end up going here most every Tuesday after playing Dodgeball with Social Boston Sports. The staff is great, they are attentive and are able to handle orders for a large group of people. I tend to have the appetizers more than anything else: wings, nachos, chicken tenders. The food has always been delicious, like better bar food. The also have monthly drink specials, so check back every so often to see what they have.

Horrible first-time experience at this business. Just moved to the area from out of state and was accused of owning a fake ID when presenting to their bouncer. He was extremely rude and unprofessional and tried to confiscate my only govt ID. I was emotionally in distress by how that employee was treating me. Will never ever return and will be sure to share my horrible experience with others.

Would not recommend this place, upon walking in you will notice this bar smells like a toilet or maybe a urinal cake is more accurate. You know that Fabreeze commercial about going "nose blind"? Well this is definitely the case, cant imagine how people work in that condition. It was pretty empty, never a good sign. Spend your money elsewhere, there are tons of places in Davis.

Its gone down hill. This place used to be busy, busy, busy! The dj is decent on weekends and its one of the few spots to dance at Davis which is why I go. Food used to offer a variety of unique options, but menu was changed to mirror really basic options. The floor always looks dirty and its dark inside. Could use a facelift to restore its glory.

Great place to meet up, decent burger, and awesome place to watch sports. On weekends there are plenty of people to mingle with, and drinks are fairly stiff. My only complaint is having to yell at my friends all night because the music is so loud. Liked the music, but should be able to talk to my friends - if improved easily 4 stars.

I went here for the first time the other night for a Celtics playoff game. The server was very friendly and was quick with our drinks. We only stayed for a couple of drinks and didnt have dinner, but the crowd was congenial and not loud like some bars. Very nice atmosphere, and a huge bar with lots of beers on tap!

Denied my girlfriends out of state license after giving 100% correct information, showing credit cards, and even her Facebook profile. The woman checking IDs is extremely rude. Very unhappy. Have been there weekly, now they have lost my business completely. Youve been warned, DONT GO HERE!!!

Its a bar that doubles as a club / lounge at night and you drink massive amounts of alcohol at bars, go figure. The bar itself is situated in the middle and had a decent selection of draft beers. They had Laguanitas, a West Coast special thats becoming a little easier to come by these day.s

Joshua Tree was, as far as I could tell, a generic bar and restaurant. Bartenders were efficient. There were multiple TVs playing college basketball at the time I was there, and one random TV playing some kind of auto show with Frank Stallone as one of the narrators. You know the drill.

I stopped in for a beer after work on an uncrowded friday afternoon/evening. It took the bartender 10 minutes to even wander over to me, as he was too busy chatting with other staff. Decent beer selection, but terrible service. Not clean. Friut flies everywhere. Will not be going back

If I didnt have to give a star to rate this place then so help me, I definitely would not. TERRIBLE service staff, especially door staff. Never again. Stay clear from this business. Tons of other & much better bars in the area to give your hard-earned money.

First time visit, and food was *outstanding*! Best steak frites I have ever had - and I used to work in Paris. Pierogis and chili ("Chile" heh) were both also delicious. Service was fast and friendly, beer was good, nice atmosphere - will go back soon!

The manager was very upset and was treating people very poorly. The rest of the staff was very nice and even apologized, feeling embarrassed for his behavior. I feel so bad for the staff having to work for him.

Standard bar, nothing too special. Big rectangle bar in the middle, leads everyone trying to get the bartenders attention with loud DJ playing in the back. Bathroom was very run down with grafitti on the wall.

Not my favorite place in Davis Sq., But they have a pretty good bet selection and good alright. The wait staff is always friendly and fast. There is a parking lot right in back (public).

Friendly and attentive bartenders who will let you sample the beers, which is always nice when youre debating what to drink. Food smelled amazing and the prices are very competitive.

Very bro-y sports bar; I didnt ever think I would get to the counter, let alone order a drink! Crowded, loud, dark, and difficult to enjoy with friends. We didnt stay for very long.

The food is pretty sucky. The bros that hang there at night are equally sucky. Watching multiple sporting events and drinking cheap miller light are the only redeming qualities.
