Man, the decor is great here, but the food and the service...ugh. Much like earlier reviewers, if we hadnt have been so starved, I am pretty sure I would have left after the appetizer and first drink. SEATING: After we were seated, each of us went to the bathrooms (at separate times), then we waited an additional 10 minutes before the HOST came, not the waiter, the host. He asked if anyone had taken our order....another 5 minutes goes by before someone does. So from seating to the time our order was taken...at least 20 minutes? DRINKS & APPS: The drinks arrived about 10 minutes after we ordered them, and we didnt receive ours at the same time. (*Cheers?) The Manhattan was average, and the beer was as expected. Our first appetizer was mediocre- some kind of seafood cake if I recall. We have been checked on zero times at this point by our waiter, but I ignored the urge to just go. And that was a mistake. 20-30 minutes later the second appetizer we order comes- and it is far too salty, but the waiter doesnt know this because he hasnt stopped at our table. We have flagged down 2 different people, but one is just the host, and the other is a very busty waiter. Yet neither take our food away. Finally the other (real) waiter comes, and does take the food away. I see him argue quietly with the chef, who is glaring at us, and the waiter returns and suggests another dish to have. That was pretty good, but at this point I kind of just want to leave or have another beer and try to ignore the feeling that we are not welcome. So I intend to do the latter, but the waiter is chatting it up with another table and is DEEP in conversation; Im not sure actually if he took a seat with them? FINALE: Finally my dining companion gets up, goes to the bar, and orders our drink and asks for our bill. The bar is closing, and still has a few people, so this takes the bartender about 10 minutes...during which the waiter is still talking away... Yes, sadly, it does get worse. Another waiter picks up the bread plate from our table, and, thinking I have finished, puts it atop the plate I am still picking at without asking me. Ew! Our real waiter does return and is apologetic and entertaining, so I decide to leave him a generous 12% tip. But I get my credit card statement a couple weeks later and the guy has added a "1" in front of the tip! I have to call the place 3 different times to speak with Patrick, who is probably the best thing about this place. He reverses the charge on my credit card within the hour. I didnt mention to him what a drag the experience was, but I dont think they would really care seeing as how this place thrives on tourists. Ce la vie.

I just had THE WORST Eggs Benedict Ive ever had at Cafe Heaven. While the eggs themselves were cooked to perfection, there was no hollandaise sauce. Instead, the chef used a mustard sauce, and a very strongly flavored one at that. It was very obvious that it was not hollandaise sauce as soon as the server set the plate in front of me. The mustard was so strong I could even smell it before cutting into it. Who puts mustard sauce on eggs Benedict?? You could even see the ground up mustard seeds! Im guessing that they decided to do this because of the current price of eggs? If thats the case I would have GLADLY spent more money to get a REAL hollandaise sauce. It was just awful and the "chef" should be ashamed of himself/herself for serving such an appalling dish. Also, CLASSIC eggs Benedict is supposed to have a slice of Canadian bacon on each half, not a big old thick slab of fatty ham. I will never again order eggs Benedict at this place. I should have stuck with my usual granola/fruit/Greek yogurt and scone. I have never been disappointed with that choice .

First the good: This place has a nice atmosphere, interesting decor, and is in a great location. The food(I had breakfast)was ok but no better than IHOP. Service was great! I sat at the bar and Fabio was terrific. Now the not so good: I paid over $20 for eggs, bacon, coffee & toast. Wth? In my opinion that is ridiculous. I looked at their lunch items and they seemed reasonable but you shouldnt be paying lunch/dinner prices for breakfast. They charge $8 for eggs! Just silly, lol.

Did I just pay $13 for a $6 salad? Yes! If you dont place your order when your server first asks, thats it! You are now a loser. You must then wait 15 min for your next privileged opportunity, and then wait 45 min. for a simple salad that had chicken on it, when you very specifically said NO Chicken. Also at no time will your already warm beverages be refilled, not that you want to pay for a drink that is poured 1/2" shorter than any other drink in Ptown

i went here tonight (friday, july 8th) at 7pm with a group of seven. the atmosphere is low key and relaxed. waiters are attentive, cooks are lightning fast, and the food is always great. the gazpacho along with the cod fish was my fav on this trip. this is the third time ive been to this restaurant and have never left disappointed. will comeback again, hopefully, next year for another round. thx again, aaron

There is NO OTHER Restaurant in town that has a kitchen giving full service past 9:30 EXCEPT Café Heaven!!! THANKS go out to Patrick & Alan for having the insight to serve the guests of Provincetown until a very early 10PM seating,,,, not to mention the food is AWESOME and the new full bar is great too. ENJOY PTowns Saving Grace: Café Heaven (in the Heart of PTown!).

Great spot for lunch--definitely one of the best options in town. The croque monsieur is delicious--lots of ham and they add dijon for a twist--as is the cranberry chicken salad. Very pleasant interior and a relaxed vibe. Service can fluctuate as it tends to in any tourist town. Overall, vastly superior, especially considering the low bar set by the competition!

We made it a point to go to breakfast at Cafe Heaven while in Ptown because wed heard and read so much about it. The food was great. The service was mediocre, at best. By the end of our meal, we felt as though our presence was more of a nuisance than a welcome. Disappointed. Doubtful we will return unless this place is the only spot open for grub.

Our first time in PT and we were refered here by another restaurant owner who had not yet opened for the season. Had a sandwich and salad for lunch. Food and service were outstanding. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Hope to try their breakfast next time I make it back.

Incredibly rude bar tender. Went here for dinner with my family, after a small confusion over to whom at the table the glass of wine was to go to, he walked away muttering under his breath, loudly enough for us to hear. Food was also over priced and sub par. Would not reccomend.

Food was superb, service excellent. Kitchen adjusted for various food allergies and waiter alerted us that one dish unexpectedly contained an allergen for my dinner companion. Music playlist was a delight - Julieta Venegas even! Highly recommended!
