Was open on holiday (Memorial Day) so we checked it out. Conveniently located for downtown exploration and quick on-off detour if passing through. Tons of parking on street (one-way). Bright and vibrant place with art on walls, tables. Lots of sandwich, bagel and soup options -- helps if you are vegetarian or have kids who like choices. Staff is friendly and service is fast. Food tastes great -- fresh vegetables and perfectly sizes bagels for lunch. And dont forget to get a blueberry soda or spicy ginger brew -- one of the best Maine drinks for summer..

Bagel Central is fantastic! The customer service is wonderful, the choices are numerous, and they have amazing seasonal cream cheese flavors. You also can buy bagels by the dozen or half dozen along with varying sizes of cream cheese; I myself adore the Locke cream cheese on onion bagels. The only problem would be that while its downtown location is convenient, it also means you must deal with the dreaded downtown parking if you come in a car.

Bagel Central is our favorite breakfast spot. They have delicious food for great prices and they have so many different kinds of cream cheese! My husband says its his favorite coffee in the area because you can "smell how delicious it is". They always have new art on the walls and the atmosphere is very inclusive and friendly. Its right downtown so the location is great & the employees have only ever been kind.

Bangor has plenty of sandwich shops, but there is literally no other place in town I would recommend for bagels. These guys nail it, and the crowds that fill the sitting area every day are proof of that. Great food, fair prices, and a classic counter display that makes me feel like Ive gone back in time. Oh, and they have more lox than you can shake a stick at (though Im not sure why youd want to do that).

Definitely the best coffee shop in Bangor(my opinion). The coffee is just coffee, but, the bagels THE BAGELS. They always have a bunch of different kinds, and, make alot of sandwich styles. Everything is kosher, and, they offer gluten free and vegetarian options for alot of their sandwiches. Free refills on ice coffees btw...

First stumbled upon this gem on my honeymoon over 30 years ago and fell in love with the place. Its greatly expanded over the years and appears to be better than ever. Outstanding everything here! Bagels are amazing. Great menu and sweets to die for! Love the enthusiasm of the staff! Cant wait to come back!

Personally its a little too cramped for my liking, I had an elderly woman push past my chair (rather than ask me to move it in) and had to squeeze past others to get out. Other than that the food was great it came quickly, the staff was friendly and it was very clean considering how busy they were

Ate here twice while visiting Bangor. Good food. Excellent bagels. Heavy doses of cream cheese on the side. Nice pastries. A busy place, lots of students, a little noisy. Only one unisex bathroom that sees a lot of traffic. But these are minor quibbles. If I lived in Bangor, I would be a regular.

Hands down my favorite place in bangor. Coffee is good, their potato salad is amazing, and im always down to try whatever cream cheese special they have going on. Lots of natural light floods the place and its a great spot to read a book, work on your laptop, or meet up with a friend

For me, heaven is sitting at Bagel Central, with a scrambled egg, cream cheese, and lox bagel, drinking coffee, and reading. In the summer they have outdoor seating. A bagel with cream cheese and a cup of coffee is cheaper at Bagel Central than it is at Dunkin Donuts.

A must stop if you are in the Bangor area. Breakfast, lunch or an early dinner. Dont let the name fool you. They offer soups, sandwiches, pasta salads, deserts and much more. There bagels are amazing but so is everything else!

Only one gluten free option last time i visited. Enjoy fresh fruit and flavored cream cheeses. Can be noisy when busy. Light, airy with high ceilings and wall sized windows. Big, sturdy tables good for reading and study.

The capers and tomatoes should come with the lox and cream cheese bagel. Dont like being nickel and dimed. But overall it was delicious. Cheesecake light, creamy and refreshing. Coffee good. Like getting free refills.

The food was good and the location was wonderful. I had a delicious iced mocha coffee and shared a yummy piece of carrot cake with my family. When walking back to my car, I took in a great view of the river.

They lost a point because of show service. They have the usual selection of bagels plus some interesting variety that I had never seen before. Prices are average. Plenty of cafeteria style seating.

Bagel central is a role model for other breakfasts shops. It has amazing bagels, which Im sure you would expect from the name. They have amazing pasta salads and other breakfasts options as well.

Ive always loved bagel central. Everyone in my family makes a point of swinging by for lunch and to buy a dozen bagels when ever were going through Bangor. As a heads up, its not open on Saturday

Got their #1. It was raspberry cream cheese with bloody roast beef. Gross. They have a bathroom sink to get your drinking water where people wash their hands.

Love the food and coffee here. They have delicious sandwiches, breakfast, and pastries. Just know the waits can be a little long because it is super popular.
