My boyfriend and I decided to try the food there because they had so many awards on their window. Plus we love Pad Thai. My boyfriend got a nice greasy finger print on his tea cup, the waitress was dressed in all black and has dirty food spots all over his apron. Anyways we still had a hope for a nice lunch, and could wait for a Pad Thai. What a disappointment! The eggs in Pad thai came as one big grey peace. Usually the eggs are mixed with noodles, there is no chicken in Pad-Thai. They cook it not right a lot of soy sauce and no real Thai taste to it. The other meal we had was sweet and sour chicken - it was sick dip fried sticks covered with sauce - no pineapples, two or three pieces of pepper. That is it for veggies! Incomparable with Adamant in Newburyport, Ocean Wok in Hampton or any other asian cuisine restaurant in the area.. Never again!! need to be clean and tasty!!

This is THE WORST, most horrible experience weve ever experienced at a Chinese/Japanese/Thai/Asian restaurant in Newburyport or anywhere for that matter. The food, which used to be so good has fallen under new ownership. The quality of every dish we ordered was so abysmal, we will not be going back until somebody new takes over and revives this reataurant. The waitstaff who we were familiar with was still ok and was apologetic. On top of all this, we could hear someone in the kitchen screaming (in Chinese.. the owner??) . This is not the relaxing dining experience we expected. We can only hope management changes soon. PLEASE!

Szechuan Taste has lousy service, substandard food and a bad reputation. They only stay in business because of a comparatively small handful of people. Im not some competitor thats part of some communist plot as "Mike" alleged in his December post on google about Szechuan Tastes detractors. Im just someone that has been to that place enough times to know that Szechuan Taste is the worst restaurant around.

I loved the 3 times we have eaten here Dont know what happened to the other people who hate this place. We have been treated well and got good hot food quickly. Good service. Love the Pupu Platter& yummy noodles!

Poor food, plain & simple...our hungry 11 & 9 year olds took a couple bites and looked at us in disbelief - sadly the worst food of ANY type in recent memory. Did five-star reviewers really eat in the same place?

Dont read those other ridiculous reviews... Probably some competitor trying to trash the competition. This place was great. Unbelievable food, great host and wait staff. Will definitely go back soon!!!

First and Last trip for us to Szechuan Taste. The Pad Thai was just awful. Oddly large noodles that were rubbery and dry.... I do not reccomend unless you need to stop in to feed your dog.

It started with a very beautiful receptionist, I think her name was Jill, was very pleaseant then a wonderful meal spicy crispy tuna is highly recomended would go again tomarrow...........

Waited FOREVER for service. Its 30 mins later and we still dont even have our soup. Its hardly busy as well. Hopefully the quality of the food will make up for the sub part service.

Fresh, quality Chinese food in the heart of Newburyport. Go to their downstairs area for the option to kneel at tables or for the sushi bar. Dont forget a scorpion bowl!
