If you lived just outside of Mexico City, you would be likely to eat and drink in a place like this. My dinner partner, who has lived in Mexico, agreed. We both agreed that no other local restaurant comes close. Definitely the best authentic Mexican food around. Anyone who has eaten the real thing will agree. It captures quite well the cantina experience, which is not anything like a Chipotle or similar restaurant. This restaurant is located in a neighborhood where many people who came from Central America reside. By suburban standards, its not a nice neighborhood. Ive never had a problem here and I never see groups of people just hanging out at that intersection. Parking is on-street only. Your waitress probably speaks only Español. However, Ive always been able to communicate the language of food. One difference I noticed recently is that the menu is now bilingual (Spanish / English). I always come back to the food. Some of it may not be what you expect but it will be the real thing; you will be well fed, you can have a fun outside the box experience; and it will not be bloody expensive. I really encourage you to try the place. Its worth it!

NOT A TEX-MEX restaurant. This place is a hidden gem. I would give this place Full 5 stars if it had better service. Im Mexican myself and have been to many Mexican restaurants and this place is very authentic. So authentic that many people might not know what to order or what they are ordering but thats why I give it such a high score. The food and especially their tacos are very traditionally made like in Mexico... Try their popusas! Got my stamp of approval! ATMOSPHERE- you will find that this place is always filled to the brim with Latinos from all sorts of countries. That should be a sign that this place is legit. Very welcoming to anyone though so dont be shy. Place is small and colorful. Most of the waitresses have only moderate waitress training but I have seen them getting better. This is really their only mark against them because their authentic food makes up for this!

Punk rock music playing was epic. Food is the best real mexican you can get over the border . Had carnitas,tripas,de pastor, and touge tacos. Horchata chips the best salsa verde and hot sauce . Plus 5 blocks from home . Amazing. Wish i could afford it twice a week. Went back again tonight . Wow al pastor beef tounge tacos my lovely lady had a quesadilla. Horchata and the best salsa verde in the u.s. . Only thing i can even remotely complain about is they have carnitas that are so good i never get a chance to get them as they always run out. Best mexican food this side of the border or San Diego

Went with my son on cico demayo to eat for the first time . The service was slow considering it was very busy. But the food was amazing full of flavor. Probably one of the best placea ive been. To eat mexican. I will definently go back. Highly recommended
