We chose this place on its 4.8 rating and what a huge disappointment! First of, it was filthy. None of the tables were wiped clean, there was stuff all over the floor including a plastic container of spilled salsa. Our food was okay. The chicken and pork with pineapple tacos were very dry and bland. There was not even hot sauce or anything around to spice it up. The fish taco and enchiladas were pretty good but not great. They served us a salad with no salad dressing. When I asked for dressing, they gave me the only option- chipotle mayo! We ordered a burrito to go and had to go up and remind them as they had forgotten about it. The only positive thing I can say is that it was better than taco bell. Eating in Boston is a treat for us as we live in Vermont so this made this meal especially disappointing. I honestly dont know how they have such a good rating!?

I want places that attempt to be real Mexican food to survive in Boston, so Im rating Tenoch a little higher than it deserves. This is about as close to authentic as Ive seen in Boston, but it still leaves something to be desired. Im a greasy sandwich junkie, so tortas are one of my favorite Mexican foods. This torta was OK. All the toppings were there, but the meat wasnt well seasoned and the telera bread was limp without the crunch it should have on the outside. Ill go again because theres nowhere for a torta fix—until I leave the Mexican food desert that is the Northeast.

Its a small place with really good Mexican food. The place is more like a fast food restaurant because of the self-service, but food is still one of the best options in Boston to get Mexican food, tortas are delicious and, apparently, are their specialty. You cant find that on your average Mexican restaurant, there are just a few specialized offering this, since everyone thinks Mexican food consists just in tacos and burritos. Great.

I have been going to this restaurant since they had their first location in Medford and I hear they are opening up a location in Davis Square. I really can not express how much I LOVE this restaurant. Its hidden which is awesome because that means they are never packed. It really is a hidden gem and a great spot to grab a quick lunch or dinner. Meat tortas and tacos rock, but dont forget to order a horchata!

My wife is from Mexico so we know real Mexican food when we have it! This spot is great, hidden in the North End where you wouldnt expect to find Boston Magazines Best Mexican Restaurant for 2016. All of their food is truely Authentic and the flavors shine! I suggest anyone looking for true authentic Mexican flavor to try this place out! They truely deserve the award from Boston Magazine!

Disappointing given that I love the Davis Square location. I stopped here for a fish burrito for a quick bite on a Sunday afternoon... maybe bad just because it was an off hour? The fish was dry and tough - seemed like it had been fried hours ago and left out since. Im not that picky but found a fair amount of it to be inedible. I just hope theyre keeping up quality control across locations.

I love their tortas, which are essentially a Mexican sandwiches. All the food here is fresh and has always been on point with the food. This place will not be my go to Mexican establishment during lunch. It is not too far a walk from the financial district on a nice, day. This is some high quality Mexican cuisine in an attractive but casual establishment. 2nd best torta Ive had in Boston.

A welcome addition to the pasta with red sauce that is the North End. Its good Mexican in the northeast ... what else could you ask for? Is it the perfect authentically greasy taqueria? No, but its real tasty. My current favorite is the the mole enchiladas, but the tortas are awesome too. Id say skip the burritos (they seem whitewashed) but the lady loves those too.

Beautifully designed, cozy sandwich shop serving up addictive Mexican tortas on their miraculous and addictive telera bread. Reclaimed wood walls and rustic metal fixtures give this place a more upscale vibe than you might expect. One of the best casual places in the North End, and it isnt even Italian.

This place was barely edible. We ordered several different tacos and every single bite of meat was DRY. Sauce was so under seasoned that it was undetectable. We left half of the food on the plate. The service was unfriendly and didnt even look up when we came in. All around a miserable place to eat.

Went for a late lunch with the kids after a morning at the aquarium. The walk over was good fun, and our lunch way unbelievable! Relaxed atmosphere, so no issues with the kids. My vegetable tortas was beautiful. My 9 y/o liked her steak taco so much that she had to have another. Well done!

Really good. So nice to have an interesting Mexican option will all the Italian food nearby. Creative dishes. Fast and polite service. Tenoch does a really nice job. I cannot imagine better. Time your lunchtime visit so there isnt too much of a wait. The Google popular times graph is accurate.

If you come here get a Torta, everything is good BUT...this is one of the few Mexican restaurants that do this kind of sandwich, is very traditional from Mexico. If you are Latino, you will know (La torta de jamón del Chavo del 8) jejeje. Of you arent well get a Torta and enjoy. !)

Simple Mexican food amongst a plethora of Italian food. They have solid protein offerings for tacos and their Tortas are prepared with care. Fresh Horchata!!! My one apprehension is they serve black beans instead of my preface (refried pinto) but I wont hold that against them.

Our offices personal "watering" hole. A tremendous and possibly the best selection of bourbon and scotch in the city. The staff is well educated and very accommodating.Best time is from 4-7 pm and then after 9 pm. Wed and Thursday nights are my favorite here.

Discovered Tenoch via their food truck on Saturday in Brookline, and found it so mouthwateringly good that I had to grab lunch from their North End location on Sunday. Helps to live just around the corner! Cant recommend this place highly enough!

Their signature item is the torta sandwich, it was fantastic! I got the Pastor, which had pulled pork, pineapple and cilantro. The bread is outstanding and it was so good! Great value and will definitely go there again!

Best new taco truck in Boston . I used to be an el chato taco truck die hard fan. While this is 50 cents to a dollar more expensive its worth every penny. Better than any gourmet mexican food Ive eaten in MA. Try it!

Tenoch has a great variety of choices and the food is consistently good. Boston doesnt have much to offer regarding Mexican food, I highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for burritos, tortas, or tacos.

Tenoch is always a great place to grab a quick taco and quacamole and chips. Their prices are very reasonable for what is the best taco around. I have yet to find a better one since moving to Boston from Texas.

Great vibe in this cozy old building. Delicious meats, and at affordable prices too - very much appreciated by somebody who commutes into the North End but doesnt want North End prices for quick bite!
