Sunday morning breakfast, with out-of-state friends. I hesitated, but my wife mentioned "How can you go wrong with bacon and eggs..." The outside tables were full, but inside a third of the tables were empty. 15 minutes to get coffee and to order, 45 minutes after we came in we had our breakfast. 3 of our party were very happy. I drew the short end of the stick: lukewarm food, very salty hash browns, one undercooked and one overcooked dropped egg, rockhard bacon and a muffin that was hard to cut. I know, I should have told our waitress, but the other people had excellent food, and after the waint we were on a time limit. Maybe next time theyll get all 4 plates right..?

Service was good, but the menu online didnt match what was there that night and I had to change my plans for my meal, but what I did have (chicken parmigiana) was still pretty good. my husband had a pork special and my grandmother had the shrimp bruschetta and she loved it. This is a tiny restaurant, so if you go on a weekend you might want to make a reservation.

We usually sit in the restaurant, but opted for the small bar in the back tonight. Glass of wine, amazingly seasoned mussels and best cheese plate Ive had --- perfect end to a great weekend. We live in Texas and make sure we get to Riva every time we come back home.

Made a reservation for a Saturday night with my family. When we finally arrived, the hostess informed us that no reservation existed, forcing us to stand in the 4x2 foot waiting area with the assurance that "someone would probably be finishing up soon"

Excellent service, quaint decor. But sadly the food was very under salted, and no salt was presented on the table. Chicken was tough and should have been brined. Pasta was served with cheap parmesan. Up your game, Riva! I know you can do it!

Riva recently catered my rehersal dinner at the Scituate Maritime Center. The food was excellent and staff was friendly, professional and extremely accomodating!

My wife and I love to sit in the bar area out back. Fried rice balls are a must as well as the Irish wedding soup if its on the menu.
