Holy Cow is by far my favorite Ice Cream place on the North Shore. I’m sure it would also be my favorite Ice Cream place on the South Shore, and very likely the East and West shores as well, it’s just that I don’t bother visiting the other shores for ice cream anymore because I found Holy Cow. Walking into Holy Cow (“HC”) is always a pleasant experience. The first thing you notice is how clean it is. The second thing you notice is how it smells exactly like a Yankee Candle, and a real Yankee Candle, not one of those bigger Yankee Candle knockoffs you can get at Walgreens because you forgot about Mother’s Day again in 2008. The third you notice is the smiling face of the owner, Mike. Despite what I’m sure are immeasurable stresses that come along with running a busy Ice Cream Café, Mike is always cheerful. He may be a small business owner, but he’s just as much a big heart owner. Mike takes great pride in his work. I belong to a Big Brother program and took my “Little” to visit the Café one day this summer. Mike gave my “Little” a thrill when he offered him a small cone and a free refill of coffee. I highly recommend stopping by this “hidden gem” in Gloucester on your next trip to the beach. Try the GREEN MONSTAH ice cream sandwich, a perfectly worded name for a sandwich that’s big, awe-inspiring, and a total home run.

COLDBREW is the best Ive ever had here! Always fresh and delicious cold brew (and I have high standards for my coffee) The cereal shakes are to die for with a variety of flavors such as fruity pebbles, Frosted Flakes and Cinnamon Toast Crunch! The cookies are baked fresh every day and the best icecream sandwiches in the area. My favorite is the blueberry cobbler ice cream sandwich or mega Reeses. Owner is delightful and is always making sure things are running right at the cafe. Clean, delicious and friendly!

We went on July 4th after dinner. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised! The ice cream was so creamy! I got the coffee toffee frozen yogurt and was pleasantly surprised by the chunks of toffee! We even enjoyed the rest of the cotton candy flavor our children had! We highly recommend this place!

Great small ice cream shop. They have some amazing looking home made ice cream sandwiches using things like chunk cookies and Reeses pieces. I had moose tracks, vanilla base, fudge, mini peanut butter cups.. very creamy.! Off the beaten path but worth going. Friendly staff too!

Excellent experience. Beeman school had an ice cream social. We got the ice cream from Holy Cow. All the ice cream were pre packed & ready to go. Couldnt of been more easier. Highly recommend !!!!
