Disclosure: My boyfriend and I attended a blogger dinner here; the meal was complimentary. 80 Thoreau is a beautifully designed space completely hidden inside a lackluster commercial building near the train station. Once we found our way in, we were impressed. The service was outstanding (but again, this was a blogger dinner, so I cant vouch for service on a regular evening), and we enjoyed all of the food. Of particular excellence: the house-made tagliatelle with lamb ragout (which interestingly had a butter and fennel sauce rather than something tomato-heavy) and the grilled quail (which came with a side of bulgur wrapped up delightfully in a crispy crepe).

Classy without being stuffy, great ambiance, the food is sublime and the service is great. I initially had my reservations about coming here but all of my pre-conceptions were thrown out of the proverbial window. On my first visit my wife and I had the "salad of mixed lettuces" which was sublime. I will forever wonder how that vinaigrette tastes so great, followed by the brazed chicken (wow) lastly the gonach with maple ice cream (nirvana)..To put it shortly, I have had wonderful experiences when going to 80 Thoreau, I know that I have found a great place which I will enjoy for a very long time. 3rd time will be in the next few days!

Absolutely amazing! Hospitality abounds, in a clean, refined dining experience. Every course was excellent, locally fresh where/when possible, high quality ingredients, with a refreshingly unique menu for the area. A must for anyone looking for that extra special evening out with friends or significant others. I will most definitely be returning! Note: The restaurant is on the second floor of a building that looks like an old train stop. The first floor is all local shops. They only have a sign on the door and its very easy to miss. Be vigilant! :)

Wow, what a disappointment! Was REALLY looking forward to a great gourmet meal in the burbs. Was subjected to under seasoned visually unappealing frois gras appetizer followed by VERY undercooked cavatelli. Sauce on pasta dish was good, bread soaking good, but the pasta killed it! Very unimpressive dessert menu. Really sad to say I wont return. On a positive note they do pork chops well. My fiends were moist well paired with seasonal vegetables. Eye Appeal is not their forte. White plates, white scallops, bland colored sauce= unappealing presentation.

I went here for drinks at 8:30pm last night. I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely $8 glass of wine on the menu as my perception of 80 Thoreau is that it is overpriced. The wine glass and amount of wine was generous. The wine was mild with a pleasant smokiness. It was exactly what I wanted. Our waiter did wander off without telling us and we had to go to the bar to pay our check. This annoyed me a bit. I like the decor and quality of the food here. It feels like the warmth of the service is contingent upon how much you spend.

The corn/tomato prix fixe dinner was creative and inspiring. The four courses each impressed me with the chefs skills--and I stole one of their ideas and served a soup bowl with corn soup and tomato soup in the shape of a yin/yang symbol to my dinner guests the next weekend. The only downer, which made me lower my rating to four stars? One course was too large and I had too much food. I had to take a box home for dinner the next night. Still, I definitely will be back for next years offering.

My family decided to eat here while on vacation. Clean and fancy atmosphere. Amazing service, to the point where it got a little creepy. Ordered the mixed greens salads as out first courses and the seared scallops special, roasted and braised chicken and the pork tenderloin as our main courses. The food, including the sides, was fantastic with exquisite sauces. Was pricy, but definitely worth it. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to eat out.

We heard such good things for this new restaurant and it is always booked, however, as with most restaurants in Concord, they start strong but quickly fade. The Ambiance is nice and modern; very clean. The owners spent a lot of time on the decor. The food was just ok. My wife, daughter and sister-in-law never finished our meals. The sauces were over-spiced, the side dishes were stale and undercooked. Overall, it was NOT worth the price.

My wife and I have been here several times, usually for special occasions. Every time the experience has been outstanding. The menu changes with the season so youre guaranteed to try something new and its all delicious. Its a white cloth atmosphere but patrons can come as they choose which strikes a nice balance of formal and casual. Cocktails are creative and fun. I would recommend to anyone and plan to return again soon.

Great food and great service! I love how the menu changes with the seasons...last night we striped bass which was absolutely lovely for a hot summer evening. The tiny blue cubes of potatoes and flowers were such a fabulous treat that added a lot of color to the dish. The waitstaff was friendly and the wine list was really well put together. What a fabulous new addition to the greater boston dining scene. Great job!

Its been over a month and I have not stopped craving the veal pappardelle pasta from 80 Thoreau. Each item on the menu uses local seasonal ingredients, which adds to the charm of the new restaurant and keeps me coming back to try something new. The Tonic and Gin is outstanding too -I think I heard they make their own tonic water in house. Definitely worth a train ride up from Boston.

As owners of an Inn and Restaurant we are always eager to change our role and enjoy being a guest. Our dinner at 80 Toreau was exceptional. Warm, knowledgeable and unpretentious service with a menu that was a delight to explore. We experienced tastes and textures that made the evening one of the most pleasurable in recent memory. Bravo! We will be back!

Food is delicious. Really only two negatives - prices were at Boston levels and the entire experience was little on the slow side. More than 20 minutes between when we sat down and someone came over to take a drink order. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good place if you dont have anywhere to be.

We usually come here for special occasions. The food is always wonderful and well prepared - with creative seasonal dishes. The staff is always helpful and friendly. We always make reservations. There is a nice waiting area where you can have a drink if your table is not ready. Not cheap.

One of the best restaurants in Concord! Very creative presentation of the best local meats and vegetables. With advance notice, they were able to prepare a vegan, gluten-free meal for a member of our party that was delicious and enthusiastically received! Very highly recommended!

The food is consistently excellent, the staff are courteous but leave you to your conversation. The only downside is that they are consequently popular, so reservations should be planned ahead. Ive been a customer for nearly 5 years, and plan to continue dining there.

A favorite place in Concord for a special meal. Have never been disappointed, but be forewarned the it is upscale prices too. Hint: If you want the ambience and a less expensive meal, you can get a very reasonable burger or other nice food on their bar menu.
