Best kept secret in New England! Please, dont tell anyone about the great staff, customer service, and of course the divine menu because everyone will want to be eating there! Seriously, I had the opportunity to enjoy two great dinner services two days apart. The owner and all staff are simply outstanding and we could not have asked for a better experience. Mark was our waiter both nights and did an outstanding job of providing great table service with a perfect balance of service and just knowing when to come to our table (Josh - please clone him). The Avenue Restaurant is every bit as comfortable and enjoyable as sitting down with my own family. In fact, they are now a part of my family. We went out to Avenue with a few friends and really enjoyed it. First, its a really nice looking restaurant. It was very busy on that Saturday night. We started with the calmari, scrimp fra diavlo flat bread and Avenue flat bread as a appetizers. The whole table thoroughly enjoyed them. I got the salmon, which was excellent. My friends enjoyed the gnocchi, chicken and orechetti. The only dish that was not loved was the Thai salad. My wife and I split the cheese cake for desert, which was good but not great. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend this place. One negative was that it is very loud, which wasnt a major problem for us.

Tried Avenue for the first time last night. We ate at the bar where service was reasonably quick. I realize they are just getting started and there will be some adjustments but the food was not great. The bread was so chewy it was almost inedible. The lobster and pasta was not as expected. The pasta was gooey and pasty and the was hardly any sauce. Overall I thought the menu lacked any creativity or daring and was the usual fare you can get at any other suburban restaurant. Was hoping for something more sophisticated and better executed. Having said that, will go back and give it another try as they work to improve.

There were no places to place your coat. The server was way too busy. Didnt get our drinks until dinner was finished. Sauce on swordfish was way too much (tons of capers). Creme brûlée was tasty but one was much too burnt in top and the custards inside was too thin but tasted good. The pasta was undercooked a touch before al dente. All in all very disappointed and way too pricey. Life long Medfield resident. Female / 40s

Great local restaurant...just what Medfield needed. Food is excellent, staff is outstanding. We are working our way through the entire menu and wine list. The pasta bolgonese was excellent. The salmon is outstanding. The crab cakes, accoring to pretty light hair companion, were as good as any she has ever had. The bar area is the place to be. J from Medfield

Wow! Josh Foley and his team have delivered. Great selection of delicious offerings that are paired with refreshing libations. The blonde brownie at the finish was a home run. The wood grill and oven provide a great scent throughout the space. Best frites I have ever had. Ready to go back already.

The food is very good..however we ordered apps and main meal at the same time. Appetizers arrived in a very timely fashion... the main meal however took over 1.5 hrs after that. When we asked the waitress just kept saying sorry for the long wait and thank you for waiting.

Food was delicious. Cocktail was not good. The temperature at our very nice window booth by entrance was freezing cold. Will definitely try again but ask for a seat in main dining area or wear a winter coat.
