This restaurant/bar is suffering from a pretty serious identity crisis. They dont know if they want to be a bar, a pub or a restaurant, and therefore they arent doing any of those very well. The do have some fairly inventive mixed drinks on the menu, using top-shelf liquors, and the prices of those drinks are competitive for the area. However, their wine selection is WAY too vast and over the top for the type of facility theyre running. Also, they have several wines that are far too expensive and high-end given the type and prices of the food they serve. Also, they dont have enough mid-range wines, which should be their bread & butter in the wine department. Instead they offer a whole lot of cheap wines, very few mid-range wines and a whole lot of cost-prohibitive wines (again, given the location and the food offerings). As for beer, they have a ton of different beers available by the can - but who wants to go to a high-end bar to drink canned beer? They also have no beers on tap, which is a sin in this area! Theyre also extremely into micro-brews and IPAs, which is fine, but they offer little to no perennial favorites like Heineken, Amstel, Miller, Bud, etc., which customers expect to see at least a few of. It doesnt really stop there when it comes to beverages, because they offer ONLY Coke and Dirty Coke on tap. No Sprite, no 7-Up, no ginger ale, no root beer, etc. They do offer root beer and ginger beer in bottles, but theyre obscure brands from micro-breweries and, at least in the case of the root beer, is awful (sickeningly sweet with very little bite). As for the food, its a very disjointed menu with zero attention paid to cross-utilization of ingredients. Meaning - they have items on the menu that indicate that they have the ingredients to make a given dish, and there are tons of other dishes they could offer using some or all of those items, and yet they dont offer them. And they offer a bunch of dishes that use specialty ingredients that dont appear in any other dish on the menu. In any restaurant, this leads inexorably to spoilage and waste (or the inverse - running out and having to source specialty ingredients on the fly, and pay on the fly prices for them too). The overall menu is, in fact, severely limited in scope and, despite its adventurous look, is rather "safe". Most things offered arent worth the prices theyre charging, and yet they arent charging enough for truly higher-end fare. Also, in just about every category, they offer 5 or 6 "cheap and easy" items and then a single higher-end item (or 2 at most). If you look at the menu for this restaurant, and if you watch the segment for this restaurant on Phantom Gourmet, you would really think this place to be a carnivores enclave, offering lots of terrific beef and pork dishes. But they dont. In fact theres only one steak dish offered, and its a basic hangar steak! They do make a hell of a burger though! Ill give them that. Finally, the waitstaff leaves a ton to be desired. The two servers that we encountered honestly were trying hard, but just were no good at it. My guess is that they havent had a lick of training! And one of the server admitted as much when I asked about the training program offered. The concept here is great, if it could be refined and focused. This could be a great success. But with the way things are going over my last two visits, I give the place another 12-24 months, depending on the depth of the pockets that are backing the place. I honestly think they need an experienced restaurant consultant whos both a chef and has loads of front of the house and bar experience. I could definitely recommend one if theyd send me a message.

Ive had a gift certificate to Nosh & Grog on my desk for the better part of a year, but havent been able to use it as the restaurant is over an hour away. Finally had the chance to get there today, and it did not disappoint! Was initially unhappy that both beers I wanted were out of stock, but our knowledgable waitress, Jessica, made some very good recommendations that were spot on. We started with the Firecrackers appetizer, which is three(!) fried wonton wraps filled with smoked chicken and cheese, covered with a sweet Sriracha aioli. Very tasty, not overly spicy at all, and actually pretty filling. We opted to split the "Oh S#!t" Burger, as it seems like the signature thing for a first visit. It was very tasty, but quite messy and a bit tough to eat due to the size and thickness of the burger and the slippery toppings. Overall, a great experience that Id revisit in a heartbeat.

Excellent, fast service, but salty, overly fatty food. The chicken was salty with gravy that tasted like it came out of a jar, the cranberry sauce appeared to be from a can, and the skirt steak was stringy and greasy. However, the vegetable plate was excellent. Points for presentation. The mixed drink tasted good but was short on alcohol, although the beer selection was really great.

Staff was very nice and accommodating and good atmosphere. Unfortunately food not so good; heavily salted and over spiced. 2 of us ordered the bolognese, which tasted more like chili. Burgers overcooked. Steak was good, frites were super salty.

This was some of the best food Ive had at a restaurant. Its basically tapas but about two plates per person for the table to share is perfect. Everything had so much flavor. I will definitely be back.
