Ordered a miso ramen and rainbow barertta (8pcs) for about 13 each entree on a Saturday evening. I am ambivalent about the sushi because the quality of the fish was average and it was made with slightly overdone brown rice (didnt see it mentioned that it would be brown rice in the menu). The ramen was nicely seasoned with two slices of chicken but the noodles just didnt meet my expectations. The noodles actually reminded me of the yellow lo mein noodles that they use in Chinese restaurants... Atmosphere was cozy and service was prompt. It wasnt too crowded only a few other tables. The price was reasonable, service was polite and prompt but food was average and sort of disappointing so I will give it 3/5 for average because with all the quality and varied choices available in Boston..there is just no attraction in revisiting.

Originally a Florida native, I am accustomed to fresh fish and consequently delicious sushi. Now a 7+ year resident of Boston, I can say that this is the BEST sushi place in Boston that wont break your bank. Admittedly, swanky upscale places like Uni deliver unparalleled sushi, but this is THE PLACE for your everyday sushi cravings. Ive tried almost every place in Boston proper - a majority of them typically serve semi-putrid fish on stale day-old rice. Snappy Sushi consistently serves fresh fish on moist (brown) rice. It never disappoints. Furthermore, servers are friendly and give you complimentary hot green tea (made the way they actually make it in Japan, which I find pretty cool and unique).

After living in Boston for a year, I have to admit that Shino is my favorite place for sushi. You wont find anywhere else that is cheaper in Boston! The food is also superb. Although its not a 5-star restaurant, they do serve fresh fish for the most part. Id stay away from the ikura since most times, they are not as fresh as other foods. Try the seaweed salad - its probably one of the best in the country! HINT: Go early during lunch/dinner times since seating is VERY limited or try go in between lunch or dinner hours.

I may just be some stupid european tourist, ignorant of the local ways and so on, but say this for me - I know my sushi. I had some rather high expectation after reading reviews of this place, and I was definitely not let down. The service was impeccable and fast, and the sushi was among the best I ever had. Snappy Sushi uses brown rice, which lends a bit more texture to both rolls and nigiri, and the quality of the fish was very high. All in all a very pleasant experience that prompts repetition.

I have worked with restaurant owners in my career, B2B, and personally worked at two restaurants. Only a very small handful are truly deserving of the five star rating. This one is it. We ordered sushi, chicken buns and pork / beef buns. All were delicious. Perfect. Superb quality meats & ingredients. Absolutely no stems seeds bone fragments or any little Yorkies. plus it was all prepared very fast. Looking forward to returning for their other dishes!

This place is a joke. You order a spicy tuna roll they come out with double the rice you should have and a sliver of tuna and the rest filled with cucumber. Where i come from a spicy tuna roll does not have cucumber. Also waitress took a nice $17 tip on my credit card thinking I wouldnt notice when my bill was $17. The tip showed up after the payment posted so keep an eye on your payments BEFORE and AFTER they post. NEVER GOING BACK

This is a very cute place in a nice part of town. They offer a wide range of sushi and are very good value for the money. I had the deluxe combo, and while it was delicious, there was just too much to eat. The jasmine tea was also very good. The one downside was that I was seated in the basement, next to their sushi bar. Its kind of a crappy-looking area with not much going on. Otherwise, this place is great.

My friends and I went here on a Friday night because other Sushi places in the area where either really expensive or really crowded. We walked in and got served right away. I had the edamame, tuna rolls and lobster rolls. The edamame and tuna rolls were standard, however, the lobster roll was amazing!!!! It was a cute small place with great service! I would definitely go here again.

Combination ramen and sushi place with a focus on using the unusual koshihikari brown rice which some people feel is healthier than fully milled rice. Place has a relaxed, casual vibe, suitable for just dropping in with friends. Small beer and wine list, fast service, reasonable prices considering the Back Bay location.

First time here. Ordered spicy Ramen. It came with some pork and veggies for $15. For the price you can get more at Shabu Mein in Cambridge. The soup base is on the salty side. The noodle itself is good though. Overall I wouldnt recommend the place for Ramen but I cannot comment on the sushi.

Not as wonderful as the Davis Square branch. They have the same good rolls, of which I have only had vegetarian ones (lots of the natto one). The Newbury location doesnt have as good tea as the Davis one. The one server that I had at Newbury wasnt as engaged as the servers at Davis.

Used to be one of the best sushi joint in town. Recently went there and selection was very limited and food was barely OK. They tried to replace traditional sushi with "fancy" rolls, but rice was overcooked and the ratio rice:other ingredients was unbalanced.

Its more like a noodle shop space except that this place serves sushi, rolls, bento boxes. The main chef and service staff is happy to provide good service and good and they speak Japanese! Sushi size and portion is the way its suppose to be. Good stuff.

I went over the summer... Didnt actually have any sushi. It was a sweltering hot day and I needed a cold drink so I got their "house" bubble tea. Sweet milky ice tea, it was delicious. And Ive been on the hunt for a drink as good in other cities!

$48 for 3 different sushi for a total of 15, FIFTEEN, mid-range sushi pieces. 16.95 for 5 pieces of shrimp tempura. This is price gouging and borderline stealing since they dont tell you home many pieces each platter comes with. Terrible.

Always make a stop at Snappy Sushi when visiting area! Great spot when the weather is nice to sit outdoors and enjoy great selection Snappy Sushi offers. Cocktails always great! Do note wait times vary to long during peak times.

Not good - take a pass - went for dinner solo - it had a few people in, but I would say - very average (close to not good), expensive and really - you can do much better in the area - I have since found

it is a good sushi restaurant. i like that all sushi is home made and is made from brown sushi rice. the service is good, but sometimes i have to wait for a long time. however, overall is ok.

Snappy Sushi is a reliable, good sushi restaurant near Davis Square. Fast service. Good food. A little pricey. But a nice spot to drop in before or after a movie at the Somerville Theatre.

The only thing worse than bad sushi is bad sushi that wasnt what you ordered. They screwed up my takeout order and it tasted old and terrible... There are much better options.
