So happy to see Boru finally open and ready to fill a much needed niche on the Broadway Trail. I dropped in the day after Xmas and ordered the House Ramen, because I was solo I didnt sample any of the items on the Bites menu, next time... Sporting a casual dining experience I sat at one of the many counter seats and my steaming bowl of noodles arrived in about 5 minutes. I am a noodle nut and order noodle bowls whenever I can get them, and when this bowl arrived its presentation was one of my top 3 all time. I find that most noodle bowls have all of the ingredients just chucked into the bowl, it really doesnt effect the taste, but also has little or no wow value. The Boru House Ramen had all ingredients displayed artfully on top of the noodles. The Chunks of meaty Pork Belly, fresh and colorful Napa Cabbage and Green Onion, were a perfect back drop for the soft boiled egg which was presented in halves with perfectly gleaming, runny yolks, the perfect lunch on a chilly afternoon. One of my Gold Standard tests for any noodle bowl is the broth, always my first taste... this is the only area that I feel Boru was unremarkable. Now, Im not saying the broth was bad, Im just not a raving fan. The day I visited was just their second day of business, and new restaurants always evolve over the first few weeks of life so Im hoping the broth will wow me next time, yes, I will be going back...

I went here with my family and I can honestly say this was the worst ramen Ive never had in my life. The texture of the noodles were good, that I didnt mind. But the broth was less to be desired, probably because it was Soy Based (not to hate on it or anything!). I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone, that is for sure, the only thing worthy of speaking about was their pork belly. They barely have anything on their menu, no variety. However, they were nice enough to change anything we didnt want in the ramen. Would be a lot better if they had more variety of ramen, more toppings, broth flavors. Service wise, the people were nice.

Owners Casey and Steve serve hot, scrumptious ramen bowls with great variety and epic flavor. My personal favorite is the House Ramen, topped with their house made kim chee. It takes everything in me not to eat there daily. Their desserts should t be overlooked. Also made in house, the chefs have a special talent for marrying sweet with savory i.e. green tea ice cream with sesame seed oil or pistachio cardamom ice cream OR a special maple bacon doughnut that I still dream about. To boot, Boru is low key and super fast. Dont leave Newport without eating here.

Fun noodle bar offering Thai Tea, ramen, pork buns, and more. The hubs used to drag me up to Boston constantly for ramen, and now he just drags me to Newport. Fast service, reasonable pricing, and the food is great. Hubs likes to ask for extra noodles and salt to really get the most savoriness out of his ramen, since its a little sweet here.

Love coming here on rainy days and filling up on soup. Its a trendy place that has a constant flow of people going in and out. You get a huge bowl of Ramen and I almost always get full and have to take half of it home. Cant go wrong with any of the options its all delicious ♡

Meh. They try too hard. I just wanted a good bowl of ramen. Why insist on trying to do ramen differently? They had to add their own flare to everything, which generally meant putting in too much hoisin sauce. Everything tasted really...earthy.

The pork buns are the best part about this place. Only $7. I also had their house ramen which was pretty decent. The soup base is on par with traditional ramen restaurants. Delicious all around!

Ive had lots of ramen in and out of Japan. This was perfect ramen. A schmaltzy feast in a bowl with just the right hits of ginger, soy, and sesame. Pork bao was scrumptious to the last crumb.
