I was really surprised that there was a ramen-ya here in Portland. I wanted to try it out and was really delighted with their small menu and special noodles. The waiter is so enthusiastic about the food here and it really lives up to the love shown. I ordered only the hakata ramen which came out in probably 5 minutes. It was a big bowl with standard ramen noodles that are house made. Its amazing! The seating arrangements are very thoughtful and the inside is small but beautiful. The ceiling is designed with some calligraphy which adds a nice touch. Its definitely on the expensive side, a bowl came out to about 13$, about double what you might pay for in Japan, but the egg was a perfect soft boil and the noodles were chewy.

I had the hakata-style ramen, and it was absolutely delicious - probably the best ramen Ive ever had (and Ive had a lot)! Chewy and tasty housemade noodles; incredibly flavorful yet perfectly light tonkotsu broth. The restaurant itself, while small, is very bright and aesthetic. Our server was also quite thoughtful and accommodating.

So many layers of flavor! One can often detect familiar flavors in a dish - not so here. Every bite (slurp) leaves you wondering what went into that broth! That being said, there is nothing overpowering. Highly recommended, especially on a chilly day.

Nice, intimate but casual atmosphere with a long shared table and a "bar" at the window. The ramen and don are an experience every time! You might want to order extra noodles with your ramen. I find myself not dissatisfied, but still wanting when done!

Had the Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen. The broth was spot on, and the noodles were really good. The noodles werent Hakata-style, though, which threw me off for a bit. Nevertheless, all around a good place to have some authentic-tasting ramen.

I dont know many places that make their own noodles. First time in Portland and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this place. We tried three different broths and all were delicious. Noodles are excellent as well. Will be back.

Ive had better but definitely solid enough to scratch the itch. Also had very tasty rice bowl and it is cool how they have daily special types of noodles (like, not a different soup but specifically the noodles themselves you can swap out)

I have waited for this restaurant to open for months, and it was well worth the wait! The ramen is delicious and the menu is ever expanding. Also the appetizers are amazing as well. Please treat yourself and go as soon as possible.

This place is absolutely incredible. I loved my experience here! It is most certainly worth stopping by, and once the first bowl of ramen hits your taste buds you will be sure to come back. The side dishes are also wonderful

The best, most authentic ramen in the area. Was there on opening day & months later & the quality hasnt changed. Simply perfect. Small seating space, but definitely worth the wait to get in.

My gosh the food was great! The owner is an old Japanese gentleman that makes the noodles fresh all day. You should go and eat there. Oh and by the way....they have great hot sake!

The food is reaaally good! The broth is really tasty and full of flavor. Ask for the chilli paste if you want to add a spicy touch. I got the Hakata and it was great!

Great place for homemade ramen. Small selection, but every dish is top notch. My fave is the Shoyu Ramen plus a Beef Don on the side.
