Consistent and good East Asian style noodle and rice dishes. This is a big favorite of my family. There are lots of vegetarian options on the menu (marked with a V). Service is generally good, but the system of marking the dish you ordered on the placemat just about never works and the runners end up auctioning the food ("who ordered the side of white rice?"). Youre just about always promptly greeted and seated. The tables appear to be large communal style, but the benches are separated, so you do have your personal space. ;-) The gyoza and edamame are good. My personal favorite is the Yasai Itame, a noodle dish with a coconut milk based broth. I was quite impressed by the stores treatment of food allergies. The server proactively asked if anyone had an allergy. She talked to my wife about her sesame allergy, made sure to order it w/out any of the allergens, and the runner who brought the food was careful to deliver the sesame free dish to the right person. Evidence of very solid training of the waitstaff. The store is generally quite wheelchair accessible -- the building has a very good ramp, though the doors are manually opened. The bathroom is always clean. The dining room can get quite loud at times. The open kitchen always looks spotless. Ive gone to several of Wagamama locations in Massachusetts and theres an incredible consistency from store to store. The dishes taste and look the same and the waitstaff generally all follow the corporate standards. Its a company that clearly places importance on training. In some ways, this makes the occasional longish wait for the check difficult to excuse. Overall a very well run restaurant chain. This store is no exception.

Ive been here twice - both about an hour before closing. Not surprisingly, service was relatively quick as the restaurant is only about 10% at capacity during that time. Both times Ive found the service to be kind of weird. The first time our waitress was overly fake to the point of being comical. The second time our waiter was more "real" but something was still a bit off. I would give this Wagamama 3.5 stars in service for at least trying. Food-wise, I had the Yaki Soba - teppan-fried wheat noodles with a heaping of chicken, shrimp, egg, and a bunch of other goodies. I also had the Pad Thai. Both plates were decent portion sizes for normal folks who are not me (I eat quite a bit, so Ill be honest and say I was still hungry after both meals). I will be back because its convenient, food is decent, and service is quick during my dinner hours.

I first discovered Wagamama while living in London. It was one of my favorite quick and easy take-away spots. Once they started opening locations in the US, I was delighted that there were a handful of options popping up locally to me. Its just not the same as London, but what really is? I always get the same thing, I am a creature of habit. Its a really good fried rice dish, with tons of veggies and protein, but the flavor is always lacking. It needs a little extra of some type of sauce. I usually end up putting a little of the chili oil and soy sauce in. I will continue to go because I am a creature of habit, but I cannot stand having the overly dramatic girl as a server. My colleagues that I go to lunch with know how much I cannot stand her...the thing about that place is, you never know who youre going to get...guess Ill take my chances.

Everything is good, nothing is amazing. Considering the low price, large portions, and Harvard Square location, Wagamama is a good spot for a lunch, casual dinner, or late-night meal. I first tried Wagamama in Dublin and thought it was the best thing ever. The novelty has since worn off quite a bit, but if you want a huge bowl of noodles and dont feel like going to Allston/Chinatown/other noodle shops, its a good choice.

I am always disappointed with what I order here. The service isnt that great. I blame the company mostly...The noodle and soup dishes arent that flavorful and I had a terrible experience with some salmon dish. It is located in a nice space overlooking harvard square area. The prices are kind of high too. I will leave this chain behind for something yummy and more authentic

I had heard mixed reviews about this place.I came here for a cheap quick dinner one night. There was a wait but it wasnt terrible. The ramen I got was okay, was missing some flavors but for what it is, I guess its fine. I dont think Ill come back but if I do I would definitely try something else. The tables are communal which I dont mind, but some people might.

I know its a chain restaurant, but this place is pretty good. I recommend the yaki soba (noodles with chicken, shrimp, peppers, onions, beansprouts, pickled ginger, etc.). Its filling and pretty inexpensive, and of course, tasty. If you want an appetizer, the gyoza and also the kara age are good, too! Service is generally efficient.

I ordered a beef ramen and it was the worst ramen I have ever had. The noodle soup had no taste and the beef no taste too. The beef was hard to chew too. A ramen and a coke cost me 20 dollar. But the waitress was nice. All waiters and waitresses are westerners. Not a real Japanese restaurant at all, though they say they are!

They dont always have my favorite meals, but most things are good here. Their mixed drink menu disappeared in the past couple of years, but they have some good staple beers. As long as youre comfortable with the wide-open sometimes-communal seating arrangements, this is a great spot to visit once in a while.

First of all, it is pricey. Secondly, to me it tastes like nothing more than the cup noodles you can buy from the super market. and yeah the service, it is really not consistent -- one day you get someone thats really perky one day you get one thats angry all the time. meh, not a big fan overall.

Always great food and at least one new beer every time Im in there. The best place to sit is at the bar seating against the window that faces the street. Staff is always extremely friendly and Ive never had a problem with the food. Great change of pace from the normal types of food out there.

This is a nice space with an interesting menu. Unfortunately a lot of the food is unexpectedly greasy or salty. I think the strengths here are the fresh juices and the ramen. Good for vegetarian options (you can sub tofu in most of the dishes) and I recommend the cheesecake as well.

As a regular visitor of Wags in the UK we were disappointed. Service was hit and miss and the restaurant wasnt even half full. Our food came before drinks which is pretty odd as service in Wags is usually bang on. Portion sizes were smaller than the UK which is odd for the US.

Soup does the body good on cold New England nights. I suggest the miso beef ramen and add curry or chilis for flavor. I was disappointed I did not see popular Japanese soup dishes available. Where is the plastic soup display typical in Tokyo soup restaurants?

This is an awesome place to go to get some ramen or noodles. I got udon noodles with chicken and shrimp, and it was delicious. I would, however, recommend getting the chicken ramen--it looked better. The service was awesome, with free green tea!!
