Got the opportunity to try SRV due to a company dinner and had a pretty awesome. There were tons of drinks and tons of food so here we go... For drinks; the Perpetual Rebel was my personal favorite. It was on the sweeter/citrusy side (which is how I prefer by drinks) but not too overpowering. Other favorites at the table were the #2 fairbanks and Il Postino. The Siege of Florence was very strong (probably because of Absinthe). the blanco negroni and aperol spritz were both very bitter and definitely the least favorite drinks at the table. For food; the scallop crudo was a table favorite. I personally wasnt a fan because I dont enjoy beets. The halibut was very tasty just a little under seasoned. Lamb belly was incredible, the meat was super tender and melted in your mouth. The meatballs were incredible and so was the squid ink crostini with whipped cod. The strozzapretti and risotto were easily my two favorite dishes on the night.

Knew this place was going to be good, probably even excellent, since their owned by the same folks that own the legendary Salty Pig, also in the South End. But I didnt think it would be quite this good! Perfect execution of the northern Italian tradition of ciccheti, small inexpensive plates of wildly creative dishes like salt cod on squid ink crostini, or the addictive crab and asparagus with rhubarb. Each plate ranges from $2 to $4 but you order quite a lot of them. Just like other reviewers have said, the space is very beautiful inside, with nicely controlled acoustics permitting easy conversation even on a busy Thursday night. Be sure and try one of the special risottos but be aware they take at least 25 minutes since theyre made fresh.

Went there for our sons college graduation without checking out the menu ahead of time, which was a mistake. We found nothing of interest on the brunch menu. The waiter offered a bowl of scramble eggs to share, which certainly didnt sound appealing. The drinks had classic names, but with unfamiliar types of alcohol. Since we have four hearty eaters in our midst, we decided not to stay for brunch and ate a pub down the street instead. In all appearances, SRV seems to be a chic, hipster restaurant. Subsequently, we happened to see a video on YouTube about everything wrong with a trendy restaurant and had a good laugh because it depicted SRV perfectly.

It might have been the second choice of the evening but it has remained the favorite restaurant of the year.Me and my family tried to get into Bestia on thanksgiving day but it was completely booked (who knew?!?). Came here instead and were blown away with the atmosphere and DELICIOUS food. A must have (in terms of Cocktail) is their Whiskey Sour. Dishes to get include but not limited to their Porchetta, Prosciutto and Melon, Mandilli de Seta, and Cannoli. Its in a real hip but comfortable environment in the Arts District of Boston MA.Just as a side note: you might have reservations at a certain time, but be prepared to wait for up to 30 minutes.

Overpriced Italian small plates. The food was mediocre and not worth the money. If this place was on Newbury, Id understand the prices but its in the South end. They also arent kidding when they say that the small bites are small - Its like half a bite of food. The drinks are good so maybe just come for drinks. The service wasnt bad, but the servers got a little overboard with reminding us every single time that our next plate of food didnt have any potential allergy for one of my friends.

Probably one of the best restaurants Ive eaten at in Boston. Could not recommend enough. Was on the fence about coming during a snow storm but glad we did. The two of us at the table each did the chefs tasting menu and added a few things on to it. The highlights of the meal were the butternut squash and black truffle pasta (a must get), the octopus appetizer, the beef tendon, and the fried olives. Out of the ten or so things we tried did not find something we didnt love.

Great atmosphere and service. Italian small plates and tasting menu are they basis of this new South End restaurants menu. Sharing is caring when it comes to the menu which features bite size snacks, apps and larger plates with a modern take on Italian. The food was very good with lots youll want to try. Cant wait for the Summer when the large outside patio is open!

This dinner restaurant was first class all the way. Truely great! All of our dishes (7) were excellent both in terms of taste, quality, quantity and presentation. Both Ted and Hanna were awesome. Everyone was very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. The atmosphere was Boston fushion. So cool! I wish they served lunch! More good things to come.

Perfect addition to the South End foodie scene. Casual, effortless, elegant chic. Favorites are tajarin pasta with truffles, quail eggs, and the gelato! Street side open eating bar, outdoor patio, indoor eating bar and tables. Cocktails are great! Reasonably priced. Long Live the Serene Republic of Venice - SRV - and welcome to the South End.

Amazing. Atmosphere is warm and cozy. I would describe it as nautical chic. Cocktails were good. Food ranged from good to amazing. Wine list was decent. We ordered a couple snacks, 4 small plates and a large risotto dish. Perfect amount of food. Its not cheap, but it was worth it for a nice dinner out. Dont hesitate to go here.

Hottest new trendy/upscale place. Food and drinks are expensive, but as you would expect, and the cocktails are very creative and hit the spot. Really great food for special occasions or those nights when you need to treat yourself to an excellent cocktail after work. In the summer they open up the windows for a lovely breeze

Went in for drinks with friends, while waiting for a reservation. After 45 minutes, we never received our drinks, and had to cancel the order. Would have rated one star, but our waiter was very nice about it. Ive heard good things about this place though, so maybe Ill try it again when I have a few hours to spare.

They have a good potential. The selection of drinks are really good but they need some more options as food. The kitchen is open which make us comfortable with the cleaning. It is worthwhile to try the lobster risotto... and have some patience to wait for the food.

The food and service was good but I guess I had higher expectations for the pasta. We just didnt love the rissotto or the gnocchis. I would go back but maybe not for dinner just apettizers and drinks cause the place does have a fun and cool atmosphere.

SRV makes tasty Italian food. Service is friendly and efficient. I highly recommend the baby octopus off the cicchetti menu. The ambience is trendy. The soundtrack was good hip hop (at least at 10:45pm when I ate here).

One of the very best in Boston! Everything is made in house. The pasta is unique and flavorful. The seafood dishes are perfect. After your pasta, save room for the gelato. The menu is always changing. Our fav!
