The quintessential Southie coffee shop (well this and Jaho). The space is kind of odd. Limited seating, but its not particularly dense. There is also a cutaway-section of the shop which is sort of like a gazebo. I really dont know how to describe it. Render has a pretty extensive pastry and lunch item menu, but where they really hit a homerun is in their pour overs. When I was there last, they had beans from Papa New Guinea, Ecuador, and Ethiopia, but it changes often. I had the Baroida pour over, which is from Papa New Guinea, and while it wasnt the strongest coffee Ive had, it certainly was amongst the more aromatic and flavorful. The strong spicy flavor of the coffee mingling with hints of subtle berries, blew my mind. Many of the pastries here are not baked in house. For instance, they have Kringles from Danish Pastry House. Render also has a good selection of quiches (at least I think theyre quiches), sandwiches, stuffed peppers, cookies, muffins, and scones. You wont find too many exotic drinks like you would at Pavement or 1369 Coffee, but they brew a damn good pour over.

I went to render coffee last night with my friend, and it was the perfect location for a girls date! We both ordered lattes (she vanilla and mine hazelnut). I had a lemon poppyseed macaron and she had a chocolate chip cookie. I think we were both very happy with everything we ordered. The hazelnut doesnt have a strong hazelnut taste, so if youre curious, please try! It was a little gritty from the ground nuts, but I liked that. There was a good amount of seating, and the staff was very cordial and didnt even kick us out (we looked at our phones and realized it was just past 8). I cant wait to go back and try some more of their offerings!

Yes, I live down the Street. Yes, I like Coffee. Yes, I am patient. Yes, I think coffee should be cheap. Ok, that last one is just in general, but in this neighborhood you have to expect everything to be pricey. I understand the concept they are going for, but seriously people, slow drip coffee is just torture. So if you use coffee, like me, to get a kick start quickly, than this place is not for you. Expect to wait for everything except iced coffee, the house special, and unground coffee beans. I say its okay not because the coffee is bad, but because it is pure torture to go about getting it there.

Render coffee is my favorite cold brew coffee in the city. Its a great place to bring a computer and work or meet partners to brainstorm or chat. It stays pretty quiet (which is nice) and they have lots of food as well as coffee offerings. The staff is very friendly and you feel welcome to sit for hours take take food/drinks to go. The service is fast and everything Ive ordered has been high quality. Great natural light inside, Id definitely recommend if you need a break from the office or a place to meet a friend (or to sit and read/work alone!).

I work in the specialty coffee industry, and if youre concerned with how the coffee tastes, this is the best cafe in Boston. All coffees are brewed individually by hand and all of the baristas take great pride in the coffee. They use Counter Culture Coffee but have recently also started offering a guest roaster alongside the CCC coffees. Usually have two options (blend and single origin) to choose from on Espresso-based drinks as well. Not to mention they have amazing quiches, free wifi, and some nice outdoor seating.

Such a chill establishment. With its popularity, I was afraid the staff was going to be a bit snobby. Boy was I wrong. All the staff members are smiley, patient and very friendly. Food is absolutely delicious. Tried the Chicken Caesar Wrap (very refreshing & light) and the Breakfast Sandwich (flavor overload with rosemary, smokey bacon and something extra with an everything bagel). Hazelnut Latte as everyone recommends, is definitely worth it. The added texture of nutty grains is an extra plus!

Hands down the best espresso & coffee bar in the South End! Let me put it this way, I live in the South End and have to walk past Cafe Nero (2nd favorite), the Buttery, Cafe Appleton, Starbucks and a few more to get here and I do it every time. Great espresso, cold brew, the Quiches on point and the staff is amazing. If you really want to do it right, hit up Cafe Madeleine on your way up Columbus to grab THE BEST Chocolate Chip Cookie to enjoy along with your coffee @ Render.

Relatively overpriced, as for ~$3.50 I got a seemingly smaller than usual double shot of espresso, which Ive rarely paid more than $2.50 for, The interiors OK, not super clean, but okay, but I must say, he espresso was delicious. I am a former specialty barista of two years, and I must say, the Marzocco Strada that they have is a beautiful machine, as well are the Mazzer grinders. Great equipment and well-trained staff... I like it here.

Worth writing a review about. I havent found many coffee shops that treat you the same way every day and never mess up your coffee, but these guys are talented. They have strong cold brew coffee. No one here to rush you out the door and through the line. Their baristas can multitask making pourovers with one hand and take care of the next person in line at the same time (imagine that). Great coffee, great people, great location.

This coffee shop is right around the corner from my apartment and I couldnt be happier about it. They put a lot of effort into their coffee, espresso, and food, and it shows. I love getting a latte to go before I brave the #1 Bus, or if I have a little extra time, I order one of their rosemary frittata egg sandwiches and enjoy it in the atrium. Plus the staff is super friendly and you can pay with square!

This coffee place reminded me of good ol New York. Them hipsters are everywhere! Them serving counter culture was a big plus in my book. The place is more lengthy rather than wide, so there are more seats in the back. Their quiches were delicious too though! A lot of people were on their computers and doing work in this place, while my party was chatting up away. Staff members were friendly too..

Renders coffee is delightful. I appreciate that in this world of dark roasts, they brew only an array brighter, un-burnt coffee. Their cold brew in particular is a really great flavor blend and pretty much my favorite way to treat myself in the morning. One warning: the egg sandwiches, while fantastic, do take awhile to come out.

Render is known for its great coffee and its notoriously high prices. Located at a prime location in the South End, Render has a wide selection of hot and cold brew coffee. They also offer sandwiches and baked goods, although Ive yet to try them. They have an area in the rear of the restaurant that makes a good study spot.

This place has the best freaking coffee. Their Americano is by far the best I have ever had... ever... ever... ever. I would move to Boston to drink this coffee. I was in Boston for a week visting my SIL who lives walking distance and we had this coffee every single day! Really, this is awesome coffee.
