Worst customer service Ive had in Boston. We were the only ones to come in at the time. Barista at the register wouldnt even give us time to check the board. There were no customers behind us. She complained, hummed and tisked while we ordered, even threw her arms in the air to say "I dont know whats going on around here anymore" when I asked for a cafe au late, she huffed something to the wall which was apparently a question. Gave me attitude when I didnt understand what she was asking, she became even more belligerent at which point I cancelled our orders and left. All the while she scoffed at us as we left and seemed to be under the impression we were ridiculously leaving because we didnt know what a cafe au late was; apparently not because she was incredibly rude, dismissive and negative.

A knockout in every way. I love this place. Its right on my way to work, so I stop almost every day. Fantastic array of delicious and exotic coffees, perfectly light pastries, and wonderful people. They always have at least three different varieties of coffee brewed and ready, so you can try something different every day. The owner (I forget his name) is often behind the counter and its very obvious that he takes enormous pride in his business and the service it provides. In all, you cannot go wrong with Flat Black.

After living in Australia for the last 8 years, I was very excited to find Flat Black in Boston. However it was sadly disappointed. I was expecting to get an Australian coffee, one made with care by a proper barista, but this was not the case. The coffee I received fell neatly into the America market: big and much too hot. It wast the worst coffee Ive ever had but also not the best.

So, the coffee here is good. The rest is "meh". Prices are decent to high. Decor is VERY minimal and plugs are awkwardly located. I felt a little bit like I did something wrong by ordering an iced latte...sorry, didnt ask for a side of judgement with my beverage. Closes at 5 PM due to its location so dont be late if you need your fix!

Great coffee. I love that its independent in the sea of corporate starbucks. They offer some really great coffee blends and I love the variety. The espresso drinks are made with care which I love and they had some great seasonal offerings. The food selection didnt look stellar but thats was not what I was coming for!

The Espresso is okay (alone), they overheat their milk, and their soy milk has a bunch of stuff in it (I can taste preservatives/flavor). Pastries but no breakfast. Id say their drinks are okay to pretty average for the expensive price. There are much better places in this area for coffee
