Since my usual Mexican restaurant closes for a couple hours in the afternoon and we were really hungry, we figured wed pop by Acapulcos instead. What a terrible, disappointing mistake that was. The chip there taste like theyve been pulled from a bag and heated in an oven for a few minutes - thin and tasteless... though the salsa had a nice tang to it, which I appreciated. I ordered the Oceano Burrito, which was advertised to be full of "shrimp, crab, fish and scallops". I can verify there was a lot of fish in there, maybe some crab... but little else. The entire thing was marinated and overflowing with butter, which was a HUGE instant turnoff. The first bite hit my stomach like a ton of bricks and I could only manage maybe a third of it before I just couldnt take it anymore. It didnt taste like Mexican food - just like frozen fish with butter. The rice was plain, the refried beans were under seasoned... and it came with one, tiny sliver of avocado, unlike the advertised: "slices of avocado". While the server was very nice, it always takes forever to get anything in that place, especially the check. Next time, Ill just be patient and a little hungry for a while and wait until Cielito Lindo is open.

I cant deny the food is good... but I have to warn you all make sure you do the math in order to leave the right tip percentage. Weve been their costumers for the past 12 years (yes food is that GOOD) and for the first time, when we left the waitress followed us outside yelling "amigos, amigos" and she told us -"your tip is not enough, you were supposed to leave at least $14, you know these people dont pay us enough, we live from tips" my husband apologized and gave her more money... But seriously????!!! She had to run after us? Costumer service had gone bad, bad...its not what it used to be... as I said weve been going there for 12 years at least once a month and its the first time it happens to us...

This location is a favorite of my wife and I, we try to visit as often as possible. The service is always excellent as well as the food. This is about the only place we have ever found Negra Modelo on draft, Mexico included. They provide you with free chips and salsa. All the food we have tried is as authentic as it gets. Agustin, along with many of the other servers do a great job never leaving you unattended yet not being overwhelming. The building itself is nice an rather large, so you can have privacy in a roomy booth. The bar service is nice too. The margaritas are very decent, I have only tried better ones at Chilis. This is the perfect place to relax having a nice dinner after a long day at work.

Service is average...food is overpriced taco bell.. I was just in the area and decided to give this place a try...I was in a rush and decided to order from their take out menu.. the hostess gave me a menu and I ordered the $9 burrito... When it came to pay she charged me $14..(since it was dinner rate)..did not say that on the menu she gave me..anyways as Im eating it tasted nothing special..It was the same ground beef you find in a taco bell. There was nothing authentic in taste from what a real Mexican food should taste like.. Will not order again or recommend this place to anyone looking for Mexican food.

I reserved the function room at Acapulcos in Beverly for a gathering after a funeral and ordered a buffet from their events menu. Its my own fault, because I was frazzled in the midst of all the funeral arrangements and didnt really check out the function room, but I was very embarrassed when I brought my family members there. The function room was dumpy. There were fingerprints on the walls and doors, there were crayon marks on the walls, and it was just not nice at all. The food was decent but unremarkable.

I dont know why people are hating on Acapulcos so much...first off, it is a chain restaurant. If you are disappointed with the cuisine, take the time to go to an authentic, non-chain Mexican establishment. This is your typical place with the regular Mexican fare. But what makes it worthwhile is the outdoor seating (rare in Beverly), the array of margaritas and the friendly waitstaff and bartenders. It is a fun atmosphere after work, usually packed with Cummings Center regulars ready to enjoy happy hour.

I was really excited when I heard that there is a "good" Mexican restaurant here in Beverly. Being from Texas and being on the east coast, my expectations werent high, but I am dissapointed. The chips were delicious, but the salsa tasted like a sauce that belongs on a shrimp cocktail. I ordered the steak fajita plate. The meat was tasteless and the tortillas tasted store bought. Not only was the food dissapointing, but the service was as well. Our waiter was extremely rude. Definitely not going back.

Acapulcos is horrible. In my experience, the service is always impersonal, the wait staff always seems to be more interested in talking with each other. The food has ZERO flavor and tastes like it came from a microwave dinner like in National Lampoons European Vacation and I didnt even get a Mexican flag in it. The drinks are weak and too expensive. The only thing this place has going for it is the free chips and salsa and their outside patio.

While this its not the most authentic TexMex, it is consistent and reasonably priced with many options for everyone. Endless chips and really good house made salsa, tasty and large margaritas, a great bar, quick service and friendly staff. This place is a regular for us. My favorites are the Jalisco salad with skirt steak, steak picado and arroz con pollo. Their queso is really good too. DH loves the combo platters.

Terrible takeout service... If youre looking for a quick take out, THE BEVERLY LOCATION IS NOT THE PLACE!!! It took me 15 minutes to place an order at the bar because there was no hostess on shift during lunch. My order took so long to come I had to leave HUNGRY with no time to stop somewhere else. I called the manager and was basically told "oh well, were short staffed"... Thanks for wasting my time!!!

Good food and very nice place but the customer service is awful. I went with some friends and family on Sunday night and we got the worst server ever, this girl was rude and slow. I mean you dont mistreat customers when you work for tips (about 30 people, a great tip isnt it?). The manager in charge on Sunday nights is as rude an lousy as the server we had. Definitively not coming back to this place...

This place has to be some of the worst Mexican food Ive ever had - which is pretty unfortunate, because the people working there are really lovely. Fantastic, friendly and prompt service...but really diluted flavors, nothing tastes fresh, and even the margaritas are disappointing, which I thought was nearly impossible!

Awesome Margaritas. Jaime Avila has been the bartender I see working all the time. I been coming here for years for the frozen Margaritas name the food. All is delish. I drive about 25 miles round trips just to go to the Beverly location. The drinks and food here are incredible. Thank you Jaime for everything.
