I had a bad experience me and my family and my two children who is 7 and 9 years old felt as though that we were being judged because we were black. We were the only black people that was sitting there eating the cop watch us the whole time and the two ladies that was up working the front cash register they stared at us the whole time we was eating like we were criminals. My son said Mommy what are they looking at us like that and I had to tell them the truth and let them know whats really going on why my husband had dreads in his head and we were black people they thought that we were not going to pay for our food even the other white people that was sitting in the Double T Diner around stared at us the whole time they were scared of us I did not enjoy the food they made me feel uncomfortable they need my two children feel uncomfortable I would not recommend any black or African American to eat at that restaurant I never thought I will be put in that position or my kids to experience how the white people its like they scared of us when they trying to kill us I am so mad and angry right now I just want to cry. The whole time we were there and a police standing there watching us my son my nine-year-old son kept asking mommy they called the police on US mommy they called the police on us. I give this Double T Diner on Pulaski Highway a 0 for all the black who wants to eat at Double T Diner you need to go to your own area where you live were you will feel comfortable and dont have to worry about a bunch of Lights staring at you while you eat wondering what you want to do next

The food is very good, but depending on the time of the day and day of the week, the difference in customer service is frightening. Most of the waiting staff is very good and they deserve at least four stars, but the host/hostess behind the counter may have very bad attitudes and ruin the whole experience for me. There have been several times during THE BIG MOMENT (when I am ready to pay) that the host/hostess totally ignore me like I am not patiently standing less than two feet away with my credit card in my hand. They continue talking, at length, to their fellow associates instead of taking my money. My money and I are too good to be treated this way. As much as I love diner food, there are other places, like The Silver Diners in the DC Metro Area or The Broadway Diner on Eastern Ave. These places treat me very well. Thats why I have not been back to Double T Diner because poor customer service is a top-down effect. It begins and ends with management. They do have cool placements though....

This price is quoted between the times of 11PM-6AM. That is when they charge you a 18% tip, no matter how many people are in your party. We had 3 in ours and the service was no where close to deserving that much. We had to wait close to 30 minutes just to get our bill, once we was done eating. The burger I ordered was raw, when I asked for medium raw, but they refused to replaced it. I have to agree with the other reviews, with them saying they try not to lose money and forget about the customers, no worries I wont be back and the 2 gentlemen that was with me, that has been going there for 20 years, wont be back either. They suggestion that we go here and they were apolizing to me when we left. That was the first time they got hit with a 18% tip and they always came at that time.

Ive been going to Double T Diners since I was little (Rt 40 W) but this location for about 20 years. Usually pretty good and I will definitely will return. But I have to review this visit. I got the hot turkey dinner w chicken noodle soup and side salad I forget what else my son had. I usually LOVE their soups but this one was just ok. The salad had wilted lettuce in it. The turkey dinner was yucky :( The turkey was good but the gravy was some strange color and taste, the dressing was yucky mushy tasteless mass, mashed potatoes were ok. My sons food (omelette I think) was fine. Perhaps there was a new cook that day because it is usually much better. Service was friendly and fine. Seated immediately.

Ordered fried calamari, it was hot when it got to our table. The squid was very very tough and the outer breading was blan and hard. My entree was the open face rueben, the bread was soggy and had way to much sourcrout. The Corned beef was Ok nothing to really get excited about. It came with a mini Greek saled that would have been decent if the lettuce been fresh and not turning brown. The side saled was the best thing from the entire meal. It was fresh and tasted good. We ordered cherry coke to drink, the syrup was overpowering someone added way to much. Finally the chicken noodle soup noodles were mushy.

The service here sucks. I will never eat there again. The order was eggs and there were people who came in after us and got their meal after we had already ordered and been sitting there for 15 minutes . We had to ask about our drinks the waiter brings them and put them in front of the wrong people. There was no silverware and we had to ask for it as well. They only offered to take the drinks off the price really. The waiter was ask did he have a problem serving black people, his respond was no but I feel differently. This was a real bad experience and I will never go there again. The rating Im giving them is a negative 10.

This is a nice place to grab a bite or eat a meal with family. I have eaten here many times over the years and have eaten breakfast, lunch and diner and enjoyed every meal. This last visit had a few exceptions though. I got the crab dip for an appetizer which was perfect (I highly recommend this dish). For my main meal I got the Land and Sea meal, a flounder stuffed with crab and a sirloin steak, the steak was cooked to perfection and the flounder with crab was ok but there was no seasoning which made it bland but was still good. Everyone in my party was also happy with there meals. Would recommend to anyone

I remember why its been years since Ive been back. I wish I kept the receipt so I could tell you which waiter to avoid. I was so disappointed with the meal that I paid & tossed the receipt. The eggs were warm but runny, the potatoes were dry and the pancakes were thick & hard to swallow without a little help from my beverage. Remember when you were a kid and made pancakes for the first time without a measuring cup, too much flour or beat the mixture too much. I can say that my bacon was crisp and the water was cold. Try lunch or dinner you may have better luck
