Food was OK- my issue is with the terrible service and lying about prices (which is not the first time this has happened at this restaurant). I dont usually review for little things, in fact this is my first because I feel like people should be prepared. I called in a carryout order for lunch, was told my total would be $20 and change. When I arrived, somehow the price had increased to $28 and change. When I questioned this, I was told that they were charging dinner prices all day that day. The hostess couldnt tell me why, and when I pointed out that I had been told a different price on the phone, and that lunch prices were advertised in their menu, I was told that they had already charged my card and it couldnt be changed. Fine, so I get more food and have leftovers, right? NOPE. I checked before I left and pointed out that I was given smaller portions than I had before when I got carryout at dinner time- was told they were lunch portions. If they were charging dinner prices, why werent they dinner portions? Because its lunchtime... Theyve tried to charge me dinner prices at lunch before (eating in, on a weekday), but changed them when I called them on it. Check your receipts, these folks are crooks! Also, if you go for dinner (because the advertised lunch prices just mean less food for the same price)- park in a different garage. The suggested garage is more than half a mile away from the restaurant. There are at least 2 garages and 2 surface lots that are closer.

Arguably the best Thai restaurant in the Downtown Silver Spring area! Thankfully they recently renovated and expanded into the next door space, meaning the long waits huddled at the front-door area are long gone. A great option, when the weather is better, is their outdoor sidewalk area. Their lunch combo specials are fantastic value-for-money. Youll find all your favourites like drunken noodles, crab fried rice, and panang style dishes. Dont ever forget the mango sticky rice for dessert. Also love how you can order your meal at bespoke spice level, from 1 to 5, and the rating is accurate (not watered down!) Weve eaten here for both lunches and dinners, as well as take-away, and have never been disappointed. For our recent visit, during a DC snow storm in March, they were one of the only restos still open and were very accommodating!

I absolutely loved this place! I first became hooked on thai food eating at thaiphoon in crystal city. That was the first I have had. I started working in the area and Im absolutely hooked. I love the lunch specials. The ka pow chicken and sesame chicken are my favorite. They sometimes skim u on the sauce on the sesame chicken and the broccoli is often cold...nonetheless I enjoy it. I love love love the thai ice tea. I usually get mine with no ice and once a server filled my cup half way...extremely cheap and unprofessional. The crush ice they use do not fill half of a cup.

So, I was just informed that this restaurant will no longer deliver to my address, not because Ive been rude to anyone one the phone, stiffed a driver (we tip well), or made a fake order. I was just told that the driver made a note stating that I lived too far away. Mind you that they have delivered to my house 4 other times and never mentioned this. I know you want to know the distance... their limit is 1.8 miles, I live 1.9! I guess Raun Thai will get my business from now on!

Had a horrible experience here. Food (which was not good) came out two hours late. Description on menu was completely different from what was served. Beef Siam was pieces of beef over big chunks if cabbage and broccoli. Dragon noodles was so sweet and lacked any flavor. My husband wanted his order without sugar content and had to send his food back 3 times. It was a horrible night!!! I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I was honestly not very impressed by Kao Thais food. The pad thai (which is my go-to dish at any thai restaurant) was severely mediocre and Ive honestly had better pad thai at non-thai places. The place was quiet, but that was due to a lack of customers; and service was just okay. Overall, I wont be returning to this place whenever I return to the Silver Spring area.

Poor service and try to treat customers promptly.Both serving persons were showing inappropriate attitude all the time.More than food your attitude and service towards customers is important.Thought it was a good place to eat lunch , but I wont be coming to see this place again.

One of the many thai places in the Downtown Silver Spring area lol. Good amount of seating. We had a large group but the staff was accommodating. I really liked the panang curry here, probably the best Ive had in the area. Portions are good.

Really good Panang Curry. Well, pretty much everything there is good. They got so busy that they ended up buying the little shop next door. I hope they continue to be packed in the evenings, as theyre doing a great job.

Standard thai food. Expensive. VERY slow service. Called ahead and ordered just enough for myself and told 25 minutes. An hour later I finally got my food. They still managed to forget a couple items I paid for.

Admittedly, the Pad Thai isnt their strongest dish, but overall the food here is very good. Love, love, love the Panang Curry. I wouldnt write off a restaurant based on one dish, but to each their own.
