I love Cakes & Confections! They were highly recommended to me by a well known caterer and Im so glad I contacted them. I have had several very special cakes designed and baked by them including my mothers 90th birthday, a gorgeous beach-themed bridal shower cake and a show stopping baby grand piano cake for my sister whos a pianist. Not only were they all breathtaking, they were absolutely delicious! Im a big fan of the marquis cake and any variations thereof. I will be ordering a gender reveal cake for my grandchild-to-be and also my nieces bridal shower cake. I wouldnt dream of going anywhere else. The whipped cream and cherry on top is all of the staff - the owners are awesome and friendly and their staff is helpful and friendly as well. If you want something special, spectacular and a treat for your taste buds, this is the place!

I stopped by Cakes and Confections on the way home from church today and picked up a couple cupcakes and a cookie for a treat. The red velvet cake was moist but lacking a lot of cocoa flavor. The frosting was heavy, although very flavorful, so I ended up tasting mostly the frosting and not a lot of cake with each bite. I think they could probably just have the one layer of cream cheese frosting and leave off the top layer of vanilla buttercream. My husband had a chocolate cupcake and said it was good and chocolately, but a little dry. Overall, the cupcakes were definitely better than what you would buy in a grocery store or market, and at only $2 a piece you really cant go wrong. We will definitely be going back. The key lime pie looked amazing.

Cakes and Confections deserves all their local fame, and ought to have a wider reputation. Everything Ive ever bought from them was terrific- sandwiches, wraps, bread, cakes, pies, tarts- the works. The owner and baker, Michael, is a genius. (he also supplies desserts to some of the better restaurants in the Annapolis area) When I was there today, he was finishing up a birthday cake which looked like a Wurlitzer jukebox- a 75th birthday cake for someone who would vividly remember what it depicted. Not only was it instantly recognizable, it was very well done. Places like C&C are unique and their existence and success defines a good neighborhood. If you give them your business, well all be the richer for it.

I cant believe that people are raving about their cakes. I wonder if some of these reviews are authentic, not self review! Thats why I stopped looking at reviews anymore. I bought an almond bday cake per their recommendation. It was very dry, unfluffy, and it tastes like too cough syrupy and greasy. I eat enough high quality cakes to tell that it was very low quality ingredients. In summery, being a consummate cake lover, I threw the whole cake without taking a 2nd bite. A total bakery fraud in review and waste of my $30! Pls save your money & the sorely bitter taste!

I found this place googling for bakeries in the area... I was tired of the so called bakery in the grocery store and wanted to find a bakery like I used to go to when I was a child (a long time ago). I stumbled on to a listing for this place and it wasnt that far away. Yeah its hidden but thats part of its charm. If you want old fashioned hand made desserts, pastries, pies, cakes like grandma used to make this is the place to go! I have also tried their sandwiches and they cant be beat either!

My family and I love Cakes and Confections Gourmet Bakery as a breakfast spot. The breakfast menu is hardy, home cooked, and ready quickly. After breakfast we stare into the bakery case to choose a sweet treat! Micheal & Julianne really seem to enjoy each guest that walks through their doors, they smile as people recall, "You made my wedding cake" or, "I stop by here every time I am in town!".

Whether I stop by to order a special cake, like a Kentucky Derby hat cake, treats for a settlement, holiday desserts, or a cookie for myself, I am always pleased with my purchases and the level of service provided. Love the baked goods here and the owners are so nice and friendly. It is so hard to find a good old fashioned standalone bakery anymore so I appreciate this place and will be back. Ive only been once but ordered a variety of things and all were very good. It looked like they also had an area where you could buy sandwiches, etc. Very good place...give it a try

This bakery is a wonderful place for fast and fresh food; with the fresh fragrance of homemade goodies that are a delight to the eyes and taste buds! So glad Severna Park has a place like this---hope they stay a very long time!

Got a cake last minute, got the marble cake with whipped frosting. It was very good family ate it up. We also got a mixed pastries for breakfast, those were all very good. Probably one of the better bakeries in the area. Its always good to support local bakeries over the big grocery chains.

Save your money. Not impressed with a $30, 8" yellow cake with chocolate frosting. No chocolate flavor to the buttercream frosting, which tasted like lard and sugar. The cake was heavy, oily, and too rich. Ate one slice and taking the rest to work or throwing it away. A waste of money.

My two kids absolutely love walking to this bakery for breakfast. Their cinnamon rolls are wonderful (with or without icing!) and the service is great. We also ordered my sons birthday cake from here this year, a Ninja Turtle and it was delicious. Glad they are located so close!

Julianne and Chef Michael got everything just perfect. Our cake was super they were able to create our wedding cake from 40 years ago even to the sailboat"Dreamchaser" that sat on the top of the cake. Great service and great staff. Thank you so much you are the best!

Julianna does wonderful work. Her Reuben sandwich was legit. Had a chocolate marquis for lunch dessert because I like to eat sweets and that was cash money. My wife is preggers and she made me a reveal cake and it was a boy so shes good luck too.

This is a wonderful bakery. Their cakes are really good..and they can do all types of designs...I got a 3D fire truck cake for my sons 4th birthday which was really great! Also, their key lime pie and chocolate macaroons are to die for!!

We stumbled upon this little gem while driving to Cantlers. I asked for a box of their best treats. Every one was superb but there was a rich chocolate dessert that I dream about! Remarkable... by far the best I have ever had.

Delicious cake! Had my sons 4th Birthday cake ordered from here and it was a buttercream, marble cake with chocolate ganache and sprinkles too. It looked beautiful and tasted delicious. Will definitely order from here again!
