Try the "Delight" on pg.2 of takeout, for 14.95. Best shrimp and scallop combination, shrimp is particularly large and scallops are a delicacy, soft and good-sized, not grainy; although I suggest it in the white sauce, which can be asked for. Everything is priced right, whereas portion are generous, except for egg rolls---they lack in size, but are delicious. Friendly service, as expected from the typical Chinese service. Usually, not terribly crowded, so have a nice service. Quaint, dress as you wish. Not too fancy, nor too classy. Wont go to anywhere else for Chinese in Pikesville. The greeter goes out of his way from the moment you walk in.

Place used to be 5 stars in my book. Apparently they have changed chefs and stuff is different. For 15 years or so Ive been getting Kung Pao, chicken with peanuts on the old menu, from Mr. Chans and it was the best I had found anywhere. Now its not the same in anyway, its mediocre at best. Very much like Kung Pao bought at any carry out. It now has carrots and celery in it -- neither belong in Kung Pao. The sauce is now too sweet, chicken is now in chunks as opposed to sliced. The old version was much more traditional, the new is Americanized and not worth the half hour I drive to get there.

The restaurant is family run and the people are very friendly, and always express their appreciation for your business every time you go in. I typically only order soup to go here. It is always extremely hot and tasty, never requiring reheating even after a 10-15 minute drive home. Ive only tried their solid food a couple times and it was decent. I tried some of the vegetable entrees... not amazing, but tasty and reasonably priced.

I love Mr. Chans - its one of the few places where you can get brown rice with your meal, & the only place I know of in Baltimore that serves Yuba. Ive been there for both lunch & dinner, and have also ordered carryout. While they have traditional Chinese dishes, they also have more unusual meals and a wide variety of vegetarian dishes, along with great sushi. Ive never had a bad meal there - highly recommend it!

Weve been going here since before it was Mr. Chans (so basically forever :). Fantastic food for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The vegetarian menu is extensive - with tofu, seitan, healmy, veggie protein nuggets, yuba. They have low-carb options with konjac noodles. Vegetarian entrees always get brown rice, which is a nice touch. Lunch prices are super cheap and include soup and egg/spring roll.

I ordered online to have my food delivered. I ordered 2 lunch specials, 1 Hunan shrimp, 1 chicken and broccoli and 1 sushi. I received 2 chicken and broccoli and 0 Hunan shrimp and the sushi was warm. They picked a soda for me rather than giving me an option. Highly disappointed!!! When I called in to correct my order, they kept putting me on hold. I would not recommend this place to people.

If you are a vegetarian or vegan you will be pleased with the choices available here. Healmey, Yuba, Seitan, Tempeh and Tofu prepared in many ways. We enjoyed a Peking Duck prepared and served in the authentic northern Chinese manner (including steamed buns). Has a nicely designed clean modern interior.

Awesome food, especially for vegans. Probably my favorite restaurant in the Baltimore area because theyre so accommodating to people with "special" diet. The vegan hot and sour soup is awesome. Its the sort of place that you can take a variety of people because theres something for everyone.

I got some oily salty tofu that was named Panang Tofu and had nothing to do with a spicy curry sauce that I would expect. I asked them to make it spicy, and it was miserable. honestly a waste of calories, I would have sent it back if I was eating at the restaurant, but I got take out

Ordered general tso for lunch. Wanted to be extra spicy. Got what I wanted and it was fresh made and crispy. And the to go box had divider so rice and chicken sauce doesnt get mixed which I liked. Only complain is chicken portion was less than expected.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Baltimore. I have eaten here many times over the past 7 years and have never had a disappointing experience. Many great veggie options. Crispy Seitan with scallions and ginger sauce is my favorite.

The mock meat is excellent. And Im a meat eater. Got it with the citrus sauce and it made me wish I had another stomach. And, believe me, Im not one who appreciates much in the way of cuisine when out in Pikesville.

Great Chinese and Japanese food. Definitely love the Nasu-Ten (fried eggplant and sun dried tomato) maki roll and the chicken and broccoli, among others (the fried rice is yummy and not greasy). Super duper friendly!

Ordered delivery. They told us it would be about an hour. Delivery arrived in a half hour. Hot and sour soup was still very warm! Oh, and delicious. As was the Gen. Tsos and the yuba curry. Big thumbs up.

The food has no flavor. Vegetable dumplings had almost no filling and what was there had no flavor. The sichuan pork was oily, the meat was fatty and the whole dish had no flavor. Terrible food!

Excellent vegan and vegetarian Chinese fare. Its had its ups and downs throughout the years, but as of August 2016, they are in prime shape for dishing up good eats. Must have.

Vegan This establishment takes great pride in their plethora of vegetarian/vegan selection, as they display the ingredients (soy protein, VTP, Yuba, etc) on every single table.

Chinese and Japanese cuisine, a little pricey but the quality and quantity is worth the price! Service is decent, atmosphere is ok.
