Before I comment on the food let me start by saying my wife and I tried Mission BBQ 3/17/14 in York PA for the first time and were very impressed with how clean it was as soon as we walked in. From the moment you walk in the customer service is spot on! The cashiers offered samples and take orders with smiles on there faces, no small task in todays market. While I waited on my food another employee took a moment to tell me about the company and the fact that there are no freezers or microwaves in the kitchen because all the food is fresh! But one employee named Jackie made this our new favorite place. She was working the floor making sure our experience was perfect and offering to refill drinks etc. She was not only pleasant but when we engaged her in some lite conversation she was like talking to an old friend! Almost every other restaurant in York County could take a few tips on hospitality from this young lady. Aside from the wonderful experience of meeting Jackie the food was 5 stars as well. If you ever watch those bbq cooking shows and think you wish you could get food like that near where you live, well if you are in York county PA you can now! Honestly when you learn about the company, try the food and meet the great staff you will agree that 5 stars is not enough to rate this wonderful restaurant. I wish them the best. One last note the staff do not work for tips and you pay when you order however you may want to bring a few bucks in your pocket because if you get Jackie you will want to leave a tip!

If you have not tried Mission BBQ yet, DO IT! The Mission in Perry Hall is my favorite one in the Baltimore Area (Glen Burnie - Canton - Perry Hall). I go out of my way to Perry Hall to eat there when the Canton location is much closer to me. The staff at the Perry Hall Mission BBQ are awesome. They girls at the register are always smiling and always friendly. There is always some light, friendly conversation while ordering and, if you frequent the joint often enough (as I do), theyll call you by name when you come in. Im always thanked for "coming back" and for my Wounded Warriors cup (I have about 30 of them now, no joke). You can sense the sincerity when talking to the employees at this location. The food speaks for itself. If you like barbecue, you will love Mission BBQ. My favorite is the Pulled Pork Sandwich, simply delicious with some KC Classic BBQ Sauce. The sides are all delicious but I am a creature of habit so unless they have a new "seasonal side" for me to try, I go for their Fries or Green Beans (w/ Bacon & Onions). If you havent been before, try those items out or just let the staff know your a newbie, theyll take good care of you.

Service was good, place is clean, and food comes out fast. When you get down the line to pick up your food, they open the carryout box and show you the contents so that you know the order is correct. You do need to make sure to grab your own napkins and utensils and throw then in the bag or youll be eating with your fingers. As for the food. Ordered the mac and cheese, turkey sandwich, a drink and a brownie. It was over $14, so its a bit pricey, especially when you look at the quantity of food you get. Mac and cheese - there was ham in it! Luckily I dont have a problem with ham, but lots of people do not eat it for religious or other reasons, if you are one of those individuals, be warned! Otherwise, it was pretty good. Turkey sandwich - two small pieces of turkey, barely covered the surface of the roll. The smoke flavor in the meat is extremely pronounced, it overwhelms the subtle flavor of turkey, you only taste the smoke. And the turkey is horribly dry, need to drown it in sauce to be able to get it down dry. Very disappointing. Brownie was huge and was good. Nice chocolatey flavor and moist.

Ribs were very good and so were the sides. The ribs are always lukewarm when I get them. The prices seem a bit high. I dont usually feel a warm welcome the few times Ive gone there with my daughter and Ive noticed that unlike myself the majority of the clientele is white/Caucasian. I hope that my being African-American is not the reason why I wasnt offered a sampler like one of the people whose review I read here. And yes, I was very excited to have found this place because I always smelled the meat cooking late at night into the wee hours of the morning whenever I would walk my dogs. I explained how it was my first time there and how I always smelled the smokers cooking but could never find the spot until several years after they had been there. I tried to remain positive but I didnt get the feeling of being welcome. Ive been several more times and each time I have mixed feelings about the service but the quality of the food remains the same. I have even told family members and theyve been there and liked it as well. I hope Im just imagining things and will feel differently if I go back again.

On Armed Forces Day 20 May 2017 I had the honors to sing The National Athem! I was at the right place at the right time! At Mission Barbeque a couple months ago, I volunteered to sing and Ms. Megan excepted my offer. After singing Mr. Eric complemented me to tears and invited me back to sing on Veterans Day and any day at noon. The staff was so friendly and polite as all ways. They will bring you something free for you to try at your table but on this Armed Forces Day, they treated me and my guest with curteous service, lots of free food and to top it off they gave me a gift basket. Id like to thank Amber, Megan, Charles, Eric, Josh, Brian for all your love, kindness and generosity! You guys are the best and I love your Misson Barbeque!!!!! BAM BAM Service!

I love this place everyone is so friendly and welcoming giving me and my family (who I just turned them into Mission BBQ lovers themselves) a warm feeling. But there is this one particular employee who I enjoy seeing there, Charlie the Navy Coarmen he is the sweetest man there and is always giving us the royal treatment, hearing his stories from back when he served in the military to how much he enjoys working there. Knowing that everything he said was so genuine always made my day so much better. I recommend this place all the time for catering and such. Im a life time customer for sure.

I still cant believe they gave me all that food to sample FOR FREE!!! Everything was so delicious and needless to say I ordered more food to take home.
