After having been to Reading so many times and passed this restaurant at least a half dozen times, I got curious about the tank out in front and decided to try this restaurant one evening. This restaurant has counter service instead of table service, so you place your order at the registers and then wait for them to call your name once the food is ready to be picked up. I actually prefer this kind of service because its faster than waiting for a server, who might not always be attentive. I thought the food was okay for BBQ. It seemed a bit dry but I did appreciate that I could order the brisket "moist". Portion sizes are a bit small though for the prices they are charging. The upcharge for drink and side item is a bit on the high side as well. The dining area is spacious and has a wide variety of furniture to suit pretty much every group of people. I especially liked the booths in the middle that one can enter from either side. The military theme throughout this restaurant seemed overdone to me, although not having been in the military myself, I probably lack the perspective to judge this.

Our church held a golf tournament this past Saturday, and Mission BBQ of Wyomissing catered the fellowship dinner afterwards. The food was absolutely delicious! The servers - 2 young girls - were very gracious and pleasant while serving the meal, and when I asked about Mission BBQs story (after the line had died down a bit!) one of them explained in great detail the way it came about and their continuing mission. She spoke very highly of the owners, her experience working for the company and how well they treated their employees. I felt compelled to share this as I will make it a point to patronize this Mission BBQ because of the OUTSTANDING BBQ, RIBS and sides, and because of this young lady, who so obviously believed in what her company stands for. I hope that all 3 of my children (all 20-somethings) finds a place to work that they are that proud of, someday! Kudos, Mission BBQ...!

The experience of this restaurant is AWESOME. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the product. Their patience with all the questions about sauces and NC Style pulled pork went above and beyond. Noon arrive and the treat of hearing our National Anthem being played and all the people standing with hands on hearts or saluting was a very tender moment for me. I just recently lost my brother and he was 82nd Airborne all the way and he would have been proud to see this unheard of display of patriotism. Please keep it up. Food Great, Service Great, and kudos for the display of Patriotism, WONDERFUL!!!!!! PS:: Pulled pork (NC Style) and green beans with bacon. Delicious, yum yum.....cant wait till we can go back.

Im so disappointed I have not visited here sooner. I love and have tried several barbeque establishments and without a doubt this has the best food and service out of all of them, and yes even Dinosaur Barbeque. When walking in I was not familiar with the menu and it was explained in detail along with samples. I had a combo of brisket and pulled pork with smoked mac and cheese and baked beans. Was so good and had enough for lunch the next day. What really sets them above others is the recognition of not only members of our armed services, but everyone who risks their lives to help others. They set the bar high on how establishments should be run. Thanks again

I dont believe Ive tried anything here that I didnt like. I know a lot of people get very particular about their BBQ and everyone has some kind of claim about their expertise on it. Its perfectly OK to like more than one BBQ place, and its OK to like a local place and a chain. As far as a chain BBQ place goes this is the best Ive ever been to. They have excellent ribs. I especially like the St. Louis style spare ribs. If you get anything brisket wise be sure to ask for it "wet" if you dont like it dry. Very good sides, black plate specials, sweet tea, and dessert. Mission BBQ is a quality chain BBQ place that is consistent and delicious.

A good place for some great food. Mission BBQ is a great place for pork, and other meats. Unfortunately full most of the time, it is sometimes hard to find a table. Featuring their home-made sides (including fresh cut fries) and hand crafted pork makes a perfect meal. They also have a variety of drinks, allowing you to choose from brand names, to homemade drinks like lemonade or tea. This restaurant is not like the rest; it has an old American style to it, and once and awhile playing the pledge of allegiance. They have TVs inside, so you can watch from any angle. Can get fairly loud, but a very great place for lunch!

My husband and I could not have chosen a more perfect caterer for our wedding!! Everything was absolutely delicious and the staff was beyond amazing!! Definitely went above and beyond!! From planning our event to the day of and even after, every single person Ive talked to has been so professional and genuine! We fell in love with Mission BBQ a few years ago when we visited their Baltimore location. Once we found out there was a Mission BBQ around the corner from our venue, we didnt even think twice!! Thank you so much for everything!! You guys are wonderful!!

So we were at Mission BBQ for the first time yesterday. In the past I have heard good reviews of this place. The friend I was with and I both ordered the pulled brisket sandwich. The brisket was so flooded and yes I mean flooded with bbq sauce you could hardly see any brisket. After fighting through this disgusting sandwich I felt like I had just over dosed on bbq sauce.Im always baffled at these situations,a 3 year old would know that this isnt the way bbq should be ( way way overboard on sauce).Yet the so called kings of bbq dont see how bad this is.

Today was my first visit to MISSION BBQ, I have never felt so welcomed. I was treated to a helping, very friendly, family environment. The staff was so courtesy. As a veteran when I was thanked for my service I heard sincerity in every voice. I asked for a takeout meal for a ww2 veteran, without hesitation the staff got it together, thank you so much. As far as the food it was superb. I will highly recommend to my friends, family and neighbors. For all that you do for veterans I salute you. Sincerely John Carmelo

Excellent BBQ, great to get some more variety in the area. I havent tried all the available options yet, but the moist brisket is my favorite so far. Looking forward to having the "Bay-B-Back Ribs" on my next visit. FYI: this is a "order at the counter, then go find a seat" BBQ joint, so if you are looking for a restaurant with a waitstaff, this isnt for you. If you arent sure what you want, especially on your first visit, dont be afraid to ask. In my experience, the folks at the counter are very helpful.

The employees go out of their way to make the experience a great one! I feel like the service is the best in Berks County! The food is awesome and the atmosphere within the restaurant is great, especially if you appreciate our military. If youre looking for some authentic BBQ, you need to try Mission BBQ in Wyomissing. You will not be disappointed. The restaurant is across from the Hampton Inn and shares the parking lot with the Crowne Plaza.
