The food is indescribably good. The flavors are so amazing that for days after I eat here, every other food just tastes bland. The spice blends used for the meals and aroma of the rice are 100% perfect every time. Dont confuse spice with heat. They tailor heat to every customers liking (I choose non spicy every time). My roommate and I eat there at least once a week. The butter chicken and the chicken ludhiana are fantastic! Every person that works there, from greeter to chef, is wonderful. Not once have I gone to pick up my order and the chef not checking with me if everything was ok. I love this restaurant and so does every friend Ive ever introduced to Bollywood Masala. Most are afraid of new flavors at first but then keep coming back...and back...and back. The only mistake you can make is not going! [I MUST add...the 4 star reviews that rave about how great the food and service are make no sense. On one hand its the best food theyve had but then they skimp on that extra star. Its misleading to the people reading reviews. Dont be a star hog...if its worth 5 stars, give 5 stars. I just had to offer my 2 cents worth]

Fanstastic Experience!! We walked in and sat down only to be greeted by the owner of the restaurant, who was also the head chef. He was very kind and passionate about the food he cooks. We had no idea what to get especially since weve never had Indian food before and everything on the menu was just things Ive never seen before. The chef asked a series of questions to me and my partner and we allowed him to pick our meal for us. The food was served in about 10 minuets and I must say It was something completely different and delicious. Some of the best food ive ever had and I must say I never knew how healthy Indian food was all the herbs and healthy spices anti-oxidants. after eating my body felt completely rejuvinated and clean. I highly recommend people to try this restaurant you wont regret it.

My wife and I love this restaurant. They were located in Dahlgren, VA and we used to drive over from MD to dine at Bollywood Masala. We are happy they moved to LA Plata, MD. Great service and food. The weekday lunch buffet is also great and a nice price. The owner helps you pick a dish if you want, the food and service is always fantastic. The pic I posted was a kabob sampler. We love the naan breads. My wife likes the rice pudding. I wish more restaurants were run this well. Maybe they should teach courses on how a restaurant can be run.

Weve been coming here regularly for over a year. This is top notch Indian cuisine in the small town of La Plata people. Take advantage of the close local and short wait. There has not been a meal that we didnt find absolutely delicious. Our absolute favorite though are the comforting vegetable biryani and spicy vegetable vindaloo. Theyve recently introduced some familiar drinks with an Indian twist. The old fashioned has chai and cardamom infused bourbon. It must be tasted to believe!

My wife and I havent been there in a while but the owner recognized us and welcomed us with open arms. Its humbling to have someone who sees so many people walk through his doors and yet he remembers his customers. The food is outstanding with lots of spices and flavor that can be tamed by their chefs. Im not a spicy food person but they manager to wow me without me feeling the burn. Always love going back to this place and if you havent gone you need to check it out.

As many others have written, the owner/head chef paid special attention to us asking my kids about their likes and dislikes, and then offered to order the dishes for us which we immediately consented to. It was all new to my kids but they trusted in the choices taken for them and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the whole dining experience. I have had Indian cuisine before and found this to be very good and authentic. We will be back.

My friend and I went to eat late in the afternoon. The chef and owner came to our table to talk with us about the food after he could see our indecisiveness. He asked us questions about what we liked, how we liked it. We bought in to more food than anticipated, but enjoyed each and every dish. The place was empty so while I wouldnt expect that sort of treatment every visit, it was nice to have someone cater to us with exclusivity.

Having a disconnect thinking"this is Charles County?" Wow the food was good. The service was good and we liked the chefs shtick. He came to our table and introduced himself. Then he asked what we usually like, what we usually would have order and what level of spice we like. Then he proposed alternate dishes that were similar. And we were happy with his suggestions. We will definitely be back.

Great hospitality & the place is nicely decorated. Pleasant atmosphere and a whiskey sour that lacks nothing (Im all smiles) good authentic Indian music playing , a quiet little gem tucked away in Laplata. Its about time culture has come to town with a flare of India. My taste buds cant wait. Its gonna take awhile to go through this menu & Im gonna enjoy the ride.

Always a pleasure coming to Bollywood Masala. Its the only Indian restaurant in town and it serves the culture justice, the staff is very friendly and efficient, that manager is always on the floor helping out l, and the food is AMAZING and pretty affordable. You absolutely get what you pay for in this restaurant! Highly recommend

Not bad, not great. We ordered from here and it took a solid twenty minutes past the forty-five they quoted me. I thought this meant they had to be if that many people had placed orders. The staff was polite, but the delay appeared to be due to slowness and not business. When the food did arrive it was average at best.

I wasnt exactly sure what to expect on my first visit. I was overwhelmingly impressed and left very satisfied. The owner came to our table to talk and was extremely personable and greatly assisted us with our order. The food was amazing. We will definitely be going back and recommending to others!

Authentic Indian Cuisine, clean/great atmosphere. The Bollywood Special is a house favorite and it is really good! One thing that could use a little work on is the hospitality, my guest and I received rude and unfriendly service from a specific host, I should have asked him for his name.

OMG!!! Amazing experience. The food was absolutely DELECTABLE! Man... the Naan was out of this world, good! The cooks, staff, everyone was so nice and accommodating. Clean, nice atmosphere. So glad to have them in Southern Maryland. Please, everyone go & try them out!

My food was bland and watered down for the price and the curry shrimp I got 5 shrimp in the dinner sized portion it was mostly all a soupy sauce. My chicken sagwala was bland. The chicken tandoori was the best part of the meal

I hear my Indian friemds say that this place is "alright" for an Indain Rest however for one who knows no better, this place is the bomb! I love the food and portions here. If I knew how to cook like this I could go vegan.
