The food is decent, but would not return again. I understand this is Montgomery County, but this location is in Germantown and not Bethesda. For the prices, I would expect larger portions or at least phenomenal cooking. If I did not receive large portions, I would expect an amazing ambiance or great service. As in the case of Honeypig, I received mediocre food that was haphazardly prepared and atrocious service. First, the positives. The food was okay - decent texture and quickly prepared. There was also no wait time. Second, the negatives. -Absolutely terribly customer service. The waiter did not allow time for me and my guest to look at the menu. He simply sat us down, and within thirty seconds asked us what we wanted. This was my first time going there, so my guest and I didnt know what was on the menu and were taken back. When we did order, the waiter didnt cook the food properly and the side dishes were burnt, with small portions of the meat as well. The waiter did not refill our drinks during the entire course of the meal. -Exorbitant prices and mediocre portions. 8 dumplings for $9.99. Really? 8 ounces of meat from $10-30? How do they get away with this? If you go to Korean Korner on Veirs Mill, you get the Kalbi Beef Rib for $10.99/lb. Quite the mark up. -Poor restaurant conditions. The dishes were burnt (how is that even possible) and chipped. Seats were uncomfortable. As soon as anyone opened the door, you would get blasted with cold air. I dont plan on returning again. Based off their prices, and what I received in return, my guest and I felt ripped off. Would not recommend to anyone.

Smaller Portions than other Honey Pig locations and poor service. Ive been to the Honey Pig location in Annandale VA and Ellicott City MD. This was the first time Ive been to the Germantown location. Im very disappointed with the portions there. I always order the spicy pork belly. Every other location Ive been to gave you a rather generous servicing of about 6 or 7 strips. This location gives you 4 strips. They are about the size of large bacon strips. Now imagine paying $15 dollars to eat four large bacon strips. Yeah, yeah, American service sizes are huge. Heres the deal, if I wanted to pay a lot of money and eat a spoonful of food, I would have gone to a pretentious place in DC. For $15, its not enough food for the money. On top of that, the staff at the restaurant just dont seem to have their act together. Only half the restaurant was full and nobody served us water until we were basically done with our meal. Im not expecting this place to be super attentive and treat me like a high roller. Not even providing their customers with water until the meal is over is just incompetent. In summary, I cant believe Im writing a bad review for Honey Pig which is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. This place just doesnt measure up to the other locations. Now I can see why the place is not nearly as busy as the other places. They have to pay me money to get me visit them again.

Order what you see on the menu, do not deviate from whatever is written on the menu. Special requests and substitutions tend to inhibit commerce and unless you are a "Regular" (Any Customer that visits at least 2-3 times per month, eats all that is plated, does not ask to take "Kitty Bag", always tips well, laughs, smiles, is respectful, polite, understands that this is a privilege not a right, knows when very busy, bollé-bollé-bollé: voluntarily eat, pay & run [live to eat slowly on aNother(aNever) slower night*]. introduced family and friends to this dining adventure, uses the Groupon Coupon as Tissue paper and has integrity for the printed menu and honors the Chef, Respects the Honey Pig Dynasty) either find one to teach you the Customs & Traditions of Proper Honey Pig Dining, become a Regular. *The Last "Slow Night" Kim Jung Il: (May he Rest in Peace) Personally allegedly added Unicorns to the "List of Extinct Species"

3rd visit, last strike. I met 2 friends for dinner at 10:30 on a Saturday night. Less than 1/2 the tables were filled and the service was awful. I was prepared for slow service because of previous visits, but we barely received any service this evening. For 3 adults, our check was over $100...for NO refills, a sullen BBQ cook, being completely ignored by wait staff, not getting extra rice as requested and then 1 of our party getting his own to-go container. We sat for over 1/2 an hr after we completed our meal, hoping to receive a check. We already gave up on hoping for anymore to drink. Our check arrived as we began putting on out coats to leave. Theres no excuse for such shoddy service. The food was JUST OK. I am Korean, so why other non-Korean reviewers feel they are being slighted by the staff is beyond me - their service sucks equally to all races. 3 chances, 3 fails. This place deserves 0 stars.

Terrible service. Even not worth a star. They had group customers and did not even give attentions to other customers who came visit later than them. They kept saying wait without giving any waiting number or so. We waited quite a bit and some people who seem to be friends of the server came. The server recognized them, cut the line and gave them seats right away. After some time, we were assigned to a table right next to them. The server did not even pay attention to us, did not replace the burned grill plate (when we asked, they said that this is normal) and ended up with poor service. What a shame. Honey pig was not like this before. Being popular eventually made the restaurant owner and servers arrogant. 2 of 4 suffered from stomachache and the rest had some signs of the same.

Last night I went to Honey Pig in Germantown after purchasing an amazon deals coupon. It was a decent deal, you pay $15 and you get $30 worth of food. My coupon was denied by the manager, she said because her computer was down, she wouldnt be able to accept the coupon. When i asked her if she was aware of this coupon, she said," I posted the coupon online". I asked her if she can take the coupon number down, or honor the coupon without using the computer. She said, "computer shut down". I was really disappointed because i heard great things about this place. I am not sure I have experience this problem with any other business who offer coupons. Just be careful when you buy coupons online from amazon deals for honey pig. You might not be able to use it.

I will don’t go this restaurant any more. They are cheating customer. I have the dinner at this restaurant a couple times before. Yesterday I ordered the dishes that are same as I did before. One is raw beef and another is raw pork. The waiter (may be owner) saw my groupon paper, and then he used Korea language to talk with the person in the kitchen. After 5 min, the person in the kitchen brought two orders to us, both orders only have half meat on the plates, another half are cabbage (use to be no cabbage, all are meat). I am very disappointment with them. I will tell all my friends about that.

Hands down the BEST place to go if youve been up all night with your friends studying herbology, smackin the lungs, hitting the guwap, or medicating in the booth. You walk in, the place is low-lit with neon lights. The walls are covered in various cultural artifacts. There is K-Pop on all 27 flat screens. You smell sizzling bulgogi. The service is great and the staff are chill. Your server will come by first with appetizers and get your drink and food orders and heat up your cooking surface. Otherwise they arent checking up on you so if you need something just throw them a nod or wave.
