I went there on a Saturday evening with a party of 2. We were told there would be a 5 - 10 minute wait so we added our name to the wait list and settled in to wait for a table. The 5 -10 minute soon became 20 minutes - still not a big deal but then we noticed several parties of 3 or 4 people who arrived after us being seated. This became pretty irritating especially since we were well beyond the original time quoted...so we approached the hostess and asked what was going on and when we might expect to be seated. The hostess was extremely rude and inhospitable. She told us flat out that they would not seat parties of two at any table that could seat 3 or 4 - now, I understand this with large parties, but almost every restaurant Ive been to has no problem seating a party of two at a table capable of seating 4 - we waited a little longer and noticed other small parties also becoming irritated - they also approached the nasty hostess and got the same ridiculous explanation...and that was enough - we left and went to a different very nice restaurant nearby who appreciated that a customer should not be told their business isnt good enough for such a snotty and pompous place as Cacique because there were only two of us - and after we walked out, we noticed two other parties of two who had received the same offhanded and arrogant treatment leaving as well. I will never go back to that restaurant - and if youre only a party of two, be prepared to be treated like dirt by their snotty, rude hostess who couldnt care less about your business....they may have decent food - it looked good, but isnt that special that Ill allow myself to be treated like dirt just to have the honor of spending my money there - I dont do snotty and arrogant - but if you do, then Cacique is just perfect for those who want to be abused, insulted, and degraded - but Ill never go there again.

The food was absolutely amazing however they lost me as a customer on my first visit. I was on a date end we set down at 550 pm. We had an appetizer two entrees and some glasses of wine. My tab was close to 80 dollars. At 710 the hostess walked up to our table and said is there anything else that you need? We at the time had just finished our meal and was talking for a bit. She then said to us well you are going to have to go soon you have been at the table for over an hour an hour and we are on a wait and need the table. We were in utter so belief that this occurred. We stayed about another 5 minutes and then got up to leave. We asked to speak to the manager and he was not real apologetic himself as we are leaving the hostess says well you where there over an hour and an hour is plenty of time to eat. Several customers waiting heard what was happening and around 10-12 of them left. What she doesnt know is that the person I was eating with is very prominent in the community and its not going to be good for their business. She was an extremely rude person and the manager acted scared to say something to her. I am new to the area and will never be back.

When I asked my server what kinds of salad dressings they had, she said no. I was confused, but figured the small dinner salad with my meal would come with a house dressing. Ok. But she didnt bring me any salad at all, although she did bring rice and beans (not on the menu as being included in my dinner). She proceeded to try to tell me she was right. I can give pretty stern looks and told her to go check. Of course, she came back with my salad and removed the rice and beans. Meanwhile, my husband was brought chicken (something or other) rather than the steak. He mentioned it, again she tried to tell us she was right, again I had to do my MSGT look. The wait for the food was a little long, and so he just ate what they brought. Our meals were good but kind of cold. This used to be a favorite restaurant, but this is the 3rd time Ive been disappointed. (I should mention the waitress was very friendly and disagreed politely. Also, she was smart enough to stop arguing quickly)

As a restaurant guy our standards are very high or very low not sure which, have to think pretty high. These guys execute at a high level on the food side. Kinda strange we walked into a pretty empty dining room although it was a Tuesday. But the chips and salsa came and then the apps and we knew we were in for a great dining experience. My group was here to open up a popular chain restaurant. We look for local places to try. Simply put we made a great choice, the food was very good and the service was solid as well. Back to the food. We tried several apps and each of us tried a different Entree, all were outstanding. This place gets 5 stars from a guy who eats out all the time. if you are looking for something a bit different go for it!!!!

My boyfriend and I spontaneously tried Cacique last Weds before a show at the Weinberg. Service (Daniela) was great - really knowledgeable about the menu. In fact, everything sounded so good that I told her to surprise me and decide what I would like. Ive never done this before, but Daniela chose the paella for me, which was fantastic! All the food was great, and sangria was perfectly "stewed"... But the fruit bits were tiny - my only complaint. Danielas service was attentive but not intrusive, food was excellent and prices were good. Well def be back!

This isnt my favorite Mexican place in Frederick—thatd be Los Trios on the Golden Mile—but its one of the better ones. I like the chicken tacos al carbon, the vegetarian fajitas, and the spinach enchiladas. Pupusas are decent, but they no longer have curtido (as advertised on the menu). The outdoor seating is nice, although its limited and you might be bumping elbows with neighbors. Among Mexican restaurants downtown, its the best—definitely better than La Paz. But if youre looking for the best Mexican/Salvadoran in Frederick, go to Los Trios.

We booked a reservation for 12 people at 7pm. After being told repeatedly that they were just waiting for a table to get up and it will be just 5 more min....At 7:40 we approach the manager and were told sorry its going to be 30 more min. Needless to say we left and will not return. Why take reservations if you cant stick to your time ...I understand waiting 25-30min at the absolute most when you have a reservation but to be told to wait and additional 20 after already waiting 40min is completely unexceptionable. Very disappointed!

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant while we were visiting Frederick. I have to say that we were so impressed with the cuisine that we returned for two nights in a row. My husband ordered Stuffed Lobster and Swordfish. He loved both of these dishes. And I ordered a seafood stew one night and paella the next. We highly recommend. The interior was romantic, clean and had a great atmosphere. It was crowded, but we were well taken care of. Prices are very reasonable.
