I read the Washingtonians review and was impressed. I also read the reviews here and decided to give the place a shot. I really wish I hadnt. Growing up in south Texas, I ate at authentic Mexican restaurants on a weekly basis. Ive also eaten at mexican restaurants in 5 other states across the country - Id thought Id seen it all and I was excited to finally get out and eat Mexican on the east coast. Although the food does live up to the hype, the prices, atmosphere, and service are positively ludicrous. The food quality didnt even come close to making up for all of it. A family of four, we got ONE set of silverware, no napkins, and 2 plastic spoons. Really. My husband got a $5 beer and I got a bottle of water and never had an opportunity to get refills - they never even brought my kids drinks so we ended up sharing 1 bottle of water between 3 people. The service was practically non-existent - our waitress went home during our meal and another took her place - I only know this because she brought our bill. The music? What the hell?! 2 different songs playing on different sides of a set of columns, with no wall to separate the noise, at a volume higher than Ive heard at clubs. There was no-one else in the restaurant but us so, there was no chatter from other customers to temper the music. When we left, I had spent $20 more than I have ever spent on a family of four at any Mexican restaurant in the country. I felt dizzy and nauseous from the noise, thirsty, and not a little angry with the whole experience. We left the restaurant over an hour ago and my head is still ringing.

This places food was really good I give it that. But the fact that they tried to rip my friend and I off for drinks was outraging. We ordered 4-5 beers each and they wanted us to pay over 160 bucks for each drink, and when I tried to ask for a receipt they told me that there was no receipt for what I bought and that they dont take debit even after I just payed for my meal with debit. Im sorry but Ill never be going to this place again.

Very authentic Mexican food, casual atmosphere, large menu selection. I had ordered ceviche, but was told it would be 30 minutes to prepare (not sure why). I asked for a recommendation for something else and was served the most amazing soup Ive ever had in my life! A sweet, warm soup with avocado, tomato, onions, cilantro and more shrimp than I could count! Loved it!

Horrible food...first they brought me the wrong plate then the correct plate was cold and the cheese was not even melted. They still charged me $11 for nothing since I ate nothing.
