The short: DO NOT EAT HERE. THESE PEOPLE WILL WASTE HOURS OF YOUR TIME AND LEAVE YOU HUNGRY. PLEASE HEED MY WARNING. The long: Having owned two restaurants for several years I can easily describe this place is the single-most incompetently managed establishment Ive ever eaten at. Food was decent the first time I ate here. Service was slow. The second time is the last time I will ever eat here. I spend 20 minutes and 9 seconds on the phone, ATTEMPTING TO PLACE AN ORDER, with the assistant manager who asked repeatedly "please bear with me" WHILE I REPEATED THE SAME ORDER NINE TIMES. I CALLED AT 10:39 PM AND WASTED 20 MINUTES AND 9 SECONDS OF MY LIFE THAT I WILL NEVER GET BACK TRYING TO PLACE AN ORDER!!! 20 MINUTES AND 9 SECONDS!! BURGER KING CAN TAKE AN ORDER AND NOT MESS IT UP IN 60 SECONDS!!! The woman asked for 30 minutes for the order to be completed and the restaurant was quiet in the background so I could tell they were slow, but judging by the fact that this woman had so incapably taken my order, I allocated considerably more time and gave her 45 minutes, and when I showed up at 11:45, unsurprisingly, my order was full of mistakes, and my bill was double what it should have been. Flash forward another 45 minutes and at 12:28AM Im still waiting for her my food, and for the mistakes to be remade. During the time that I have been waiting here, four groups of 2 to 4 different guys left the restaurant complaining that they placed their orders two to three times and never gotten food. When I arrived, there was a poor Latino man who didnt speak English very well, who was trying to close out his check and leave. By the time my food was ready at 12:35, almost A FULL TWO HOURS AFTER I FIRST SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER TO PLACE MY ORDER, it was finally ready and ALL OF IT WAS COLD, and the poor Latino man was anxiously pacing about his seat trying to get the womans attention so that he could get his check and leave. I felt so bad that I dont speak better Spanish so that I could help him. DO NOT EAT HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

This place is nicely situated and has a good atmosphere. It is a very nice place to sit and have a beer. The problem with the place is that it pretends to be something its not. For example, it pretends to be a burger bistro, but its nothing more than cheaply made burger place. You get chips with the burger (you have to add $2 to get french fries). The chips and buns were soggy and did not taste good. I had the chili burger which was not spicy (even though the menu said it was), and my gf had the veggie burger which was quite spicy... The soda they serve is generic... Tastes awful. We had to return it twice and they still charged us $2 for it... Disgusting. The only good thing was the sweet potatoes fries, and that was $2 extra too. We would have been ok with paying $10 for a burger with french fries, instead of paying $9.5 for a burger and then adding $2 to substitute the chips... Again, calling a restaurant a bistro doesnt make it a bistro. If they want to be a bistro they have to stop cutting corners with their food!!! Better place to drink than to eat!

Ive been a huge fan of Abbey Burger Bistro for quite some time. The food is great, and the service is typically decent enough. Not perfect, but generally reliable. The last three times Ive tried to go to Abbey, Ive had a group of between 8-10. My family is 5 alone and then we attempted to take more folks to share the Abbey Burger experience with. This last time, we called and shared that we were 20 minutes out with a group of 8. They would not take a reservation, or put us on their list. However, we were told that there were open tables and they werent very busy. Well in those 20 minutes, they apparently packed the place out, because when we arrived, we had an hour wait, minimum. Now, the table of two in front of us had a 10 minute wait. But I understand how finding 8 seats could be an issue. Shared my frustrations via twitter and got a reply of "weve done this for five years, we wont change the policy now". Really unfortunate that there is no flexibility in their large group policy. While the food is good, its not worth an hour wait.

I have been trying to get to this place for EVER, but you know....federal hill and parking and all that. My odyssey came to end the other night when I finally made it in. It was everything i hoped for and more. The burgers are completely customized, from the meat, to the buns, cheese, and toppings, toppings, toppings. Alright, I skipped over the camel meat and went with Angus beef on a regular roll, bleu cheese, sauteed onions and lettuce and tomato. Sound mouthwatering? Well it was. Service was causal but spot-on, and always ready to help. Great tap selection, and friend pickles and onion rings to make a delicious trifecta. So why not five stars? One word - location. I would be at this place weekly if it wasnt for the sheer hassle of navigating federal hill, bummer. (chances of a second location??)

Great burgers here, but be ready for a wait and a lot of noise. The first time I went, I ordered from the monthly meat specials and got a duck burger. There are like 3-4 additional meats on the menu monthly. I ordered the burger medium-rare and it was perfect. I didnt know what to expect from a duck burger, but it was incredible. We ordered the crab dip and waffle fry nachos as well. Both excellent and filling appetizers. There is a build your own burger feature, with little forms and pencils to make your detailed, customized selection. Service is great, your glass will never be empty and the food comes out promptly. The beer selection is decent, but not phenomenal. Id like to see more on tap.

This place is literally the best burger joint Ive ever been to. They have different kinds of meats like your standard, smoked, Bison, and Kobe, and always some exotic kinds (my better half got Antelope over the weekend). The toppings are incredible and endless. And you get your choice of fries, tots, waffle fries, sweet potato fries, etc. Some of the special toppings add up quick, but DAMN this place is good! Oh...and the crab mac...dont even get me started. Luckily I live in DC now so I cant get it too often, but we drive up to Baltimore every few weeks to (over-) indulge.

House made veggie buger is really good - its not just a frozen patty that you can get in the supermarket - its home made. And they always have a pretty large selection (7-10) of good craft beers on tap. The waffle-cut nacho fries are probably a heart attack on a plate, but theyre amazing. I also like the fact that when I go there I dont have a specific waiter/waitress I have to talk to - I can just flag anyone down and ask them for something. Averall: Good burgers + good beer + good service = good restaurant. One of my favorite places in Fed Hill.
