This place is outrageous. Ive never seen more then two checkout lanes open wen when theyre at their busiest. Cashiers dont acknowledge you whatsoever and are mostly disrespectful to anyone who the encounter. Also they have weird coupon policies. This women was trying to buy two shopping carts full of two liters and she had a coupon that said she could buy as much as she wanted. She didnt speak English well and the nasty ladies in their wouldnt sell them to her because other people need soda too. Wait what? This is such an insane response to this issue. Get over it give her her soda. Then all the other workers crowd around and fight with this poor women. Never going back here. I can handle the lines and the rudeness but what I witnessed was so ridiculous and kinda shady. Do not go here

Became tired of going so I drive to Ellicott City Safeway. Its soooo much better. They dont have certain foods that I need anyway. The staff there is pretty rude. Some say things they should not say to loudly because its unprofessional and makes them look ignorant. They were making fun of a customer, I guess they complained about somethings and said they were going to Giant. They then mimicked Asian people, which was pretty mess up, inacurate and disrespectful. Their produce/meat goes bad pretty quick and there vegetables do not look the best..Ar least the fruit is better than the Giant. Can there be some decent grocery stores near me? If I stay, Im defiantly moving to another area with better grocery stores and food places. So disappointing here.. Never coming back unless I have to.

I have been at the Safeway located in Catonsville Maryland 2 days in a row (August 3 and 4).Both time there were only 3 registers open and the lines were all the way back toward frozen food. People were angry and yell for management and no manager neither days were there. I have two family member in the grocery business, one is a manager for over 18 years for the company and other is an are director. Both say that in the beginning of the month no manager and no cashiers is not a company that is managing their business correctly. The store had alot of customer that left and in addition left carts full of food in the middle of the store because of these line. I hope that this is something that can be corrected. This place is an absolute joke and needs to be shut down. They only have minimal clerks running the checkouts and the management is practically non-existent. My wife just came home with a pound of rancid chicken breasts with a sell by date of 6/24/2016. How chicken goes rancid while not past its expiration date and remains for sale on the shelves is beyond me. I could smell the stench the moment she entered the house; there is no way that item should have been on the shelf for sale and consumption by the public.

I shop here almost exclusively. The staff is usually very nice but, there are always long lines in the afternoon and into the evening. I try not to shop on Sat. and Sun. They recently added more organic produce! Theres a refrigerated vegetarian section that is great for lent and other fasting days. They have a great selection of alternative "milk" products for my cereal and carry gluten free products, even in the frozen department.

If you are extremely lucky you will have a normal wait time in line. 95% of the time you will wait in a ridiculously long line that usually stretches into the isles. I cant blame the cashiers for their attitudes too much because there are only two of them servicing hundreds of people. The manager needs to be fired or sent to training. It would make even more sense for them to get self checkout lines.

Ive gotten several items there that have been expired. Gum and Odwalla chocolate shakes. The chocolate shake was rancid. Products are constantly mislabeled, so that when you are at the register, prices end up adding to more than you expected. ONLY the gas is worth it. 7/6: Recently bought bag of baby carrots - tasted rancid. Produce goes sour so quickly, theyre bad before you even bring them home!

No cashiers at 5:00 rush hour I am sure that the management is aware the many people come on during 5:00 PM and 6:30PM. for dinner Mon _friday and its pay day. for a lot of people so they are going to spend money. Why are there 2 cashier lines open and the self check out all the way to the back of the store. Please please hire some reliable people staff your store

Nice store, items are expensive but you can great excellent discount when they are on sale. You have to watch the expiration date on the dairy though, and the cold room can use a good scrubbing. Also, they really need to work on opening the cashier lines when needed, the self serve register doesnt help, nor do the managers.

Seriously the worst and slowest service of any grocery store in the area. Ill drive 20 minutes each way to the Ellicott City Safeway and it will be faster than going here (and the Catonsville location is 0.5 miles from me). Only come here if you have an extra 30 mins to stand in line.

Had to return a carton of milk that turned out to be spoiled. I did not have the receipt as it had been a couple of days before I opened the milk and discovered it was bad. But Safeway customer service instantly gave Mecca cash refund - no questions asked!

This site says they are 24 hours but they close at midnight. I have went there 3x thinking maybe the hours have changed or maybe i went to a different store in the area, or maybe there was some construction when i first went. No THEY CLOSE AT 12am.

When they reopened, I went and the prices were actually pretty good, but when I went back a few weeks later thinking I might shop there more often, the prices were well above anything in the area, so I went to Shoppers instead.

Love this Safeway! They always have great produce and meat selections. The staff is wonderful and always helpful. ***Bonus, theres a Starbucks inside and a Suntrust bank that has great hours (open late, open Sundays).***

Insanely long lines at checkout, even at 1pm. They make every customer wait endlessly in checkout just because they wont hire two more cashiers. Customers are constantly grumbling and angry because of it.
