Heres a little story about miss portland diner. Me and my friends, a party of six in total, put our name in to wait for a table. The woman said about 25 minutes. It was about that, so no complaints there...we sat at our table and waited about ten to fifteen minutes to give our drink orders...no biggie, whatever. Then we place our food order, and wait about an hour for it to come out...but again, thats fine, it was busy and I understand. So the booth diagonal from our table received their food, and you could tell that after the waitress left, they were dissatisfied. I also overheard that one of the men received the same order as i did. He sent it back, after it had been sitting at his table for about ten minutes. Being in the middle of the building i could see everything that was going on. She brought it back to her pick up counter and i notice that her and the cook probing it. The cook then took the eggs (which were about a third of my meal) and replaced them with new ones. The waitress then brought our food over. She gave me the same yellow plated dish, with the food that I ordered on it. The same food that had been sitting in front of some displeased customer ten minutes before. All of the top layers were cold. I still ate it, because you know, waiting for food for a hour and a half and being so hungry only left me with two options; eat it, or send it back and risk waiting longer, and also maybe having something spiteful done to my order. Im not ever going back, and neither should you. 1 star is generous.

First question, why only one star! I want to give this place absolutely nothing after the outrageously rude, unwelcoming, insulting atmosphere. We have been here once before it was okay, cool train car seating area.. so we gave it another go... worst mistake weve made. I will never go back here. We were welcomed with a nasty attitude and listening to the servers talk negatively about management a woman named Susan? And other staff at the restaurant saying how they never do anything.. filling sauces wow the customer doesnt need to hear this. So although I wanted to leave we continued to order our food. When our food came out it was all cold, coffee tasted burnt, and I they just kept saying ugh we close at three why do all these people keep coming here. The hollindais sauce we ordered came out hard and tasted nasty

It was close to the business that I needed to stop at. We ordered and received a poor excuse for the breakfast that wed hoped for. I was, at least, asked if I wanted more hollandaise sauce... which was amazing since I couldnt see any to begin with. Ended up leaving most of our breakfast on the plates. Although there were very few customers in the entire place, I had to wait to pay because the cashier was "busy" chatting with someone from the kitchen about four feet from where I was standing. My first, and last visit, for sure.

Didnt even get to try the food. Nobody came to take a drink order. We waited 15 minutes for a table, and another 20 for service and it still never came. When we decided to walk out nobody asked why we were leaving before being served. It really is a shame, the food looked and smelled great, and the business owners probably dont even realise the staff is making it a terrible experience.

There is some great food here. They use local produce, groceries, and suppliers and advertise that. I normally dont like corn beef hash as I find most places make it too salty for my taste, but on their menu they said dont miss out on it. I really enjoyed it with my eggs benedict, the home fries tasted really good, and nicely seasoned. I came with a group, and everyones food was good.

My favorite place for breakfast in Portland. This may be heresy but I prefer it over Beckys. The staff is great and good at keeping your coffee cup filled. The food isnt fancy but its delicious. Ive gone a couple of times for lunch and dinner as well and was happy with the meal and service (plus they serve breakfast all day which is always a big thumbs up in my book).

Corned Beef Hash to die for! It was plate licking good. Just think of it as beef stew without the stew. I was told by one of the waitresses that they slow cook their hash for 2 days. Our waitress Suzie was fantastic. A sweetheart of a lady. I ordered the pancakes (which covered the plate), a side of corned beef hash, and a biscuit. Everything was fantastic!

Worst service Ive ever had. Waited ten minutes for our drinks. I ordered a water and a coffee. Took ten minutes for my water and another five minutes for my coffee. The waitstaff is aunpleasant, and because there is not enough staff the customers do not get waited on properly. Took 45 minutes for our breakfast. Will never return here. Place sucks.

My favorite diner in town. I usually go alone or with one other person and walk right up to the counter in the trolley car and sit down without a wait. Food is better than average for a diner, prices are fair, and service is quick and consistent. Large crowds on weekend mornings, so if you go with more than 2 people expect a wait.

Tables are dirty. Ketchup was empty when when we got there. Food was bad. My omelet was made of old precooked eggs that had the fillings grown in after. Coffee was mediocre for someplace with a great local coffee roaster. Service was decent. Got our drinks quickly and got us our food quickly enough. Quantity over quality.

The food was good, not great but not bad. The service however was lacking. Waitress was nice enough but never checked in on us or refilled coffee. Took 15 minutes longer than it should have to get our food too. I might come back again to give them a second chance but Im skeptical given the other more recent reviews....

Decent prices, great parking, fun menu. Not quite a "traditional Diner" menu, though the old classics do appear amongst fun surprises. Seating in the older "train car" section is *very* tight for larger folks, and definitely not disabled friendly. Fortunately the newer extension has ample booth and table seating.

We needed a nice breakfast place to eat, on our way from Massachusetts to Rockland Maine. So glad we found this place and will definitely return. Old time atmosphere with modern additions and upgrades. The food was excellent as was the service. Well be back for sure.

Great food at reasonable prices. We frequently visit the Miss Portland diner and its always an enjoyable experience. Delicious food and the service always makes you feel right at home. Oldies music playing in the background creates a great atmosphere.

One of the better breakfast spots around, homemade corn beef hash is good, nobody makes better sausage gravy and the omelets are actually filled to the brim with cheese and toppings. Patty is a wonderful efficient server.

Clean, pleasant at atmosphere, food is very good including real maple syrup and excellent corned beef hash obviously from scratch. No equal for coffee is only drawback. Definitely will be back.
