We have been several times, and each time it has gotten worse. There is something seriously flawed at this location. "Movie Tavern"s name is being damaged here, as other locations in other states are far superior. Everyone is friendly enough, and the waiters try their best in their situations, but it isnt enough. Im talking to you, upper management. Food arrival times are pretty wild, waiter arrival times post-button-push are pretty wild at any time. Food usually takes a while even when arriving and ordering very early (as they recommend). When food does arrive, the random server bringing the food seem to have no idea where they are going or who its for. Its obnoxious during a movie to repeatedly redirect servers away from you as they struggle to deliver it to the correct seat. If they bring it and the order is wrong, or they botched something you requested (such as no cheese/dairy for you lactose intolerants out there), good luck with that (i now seriously doubt that order ingredients can be altered in any way). Theres a disconnect between the waiter and the kitchen and the server, and it would appear the staff is so stretched thin that theres no control. They serve so many people at once that theres no way you can do anything except order something simple and hope its right the first time. Prepare to repeat yourself, and prepare to watch your simple basket of fries walk around the isle in front of you an hour after you ordered it, then disappear back towards the kitchen when they give up. I want MY waiter to bring me my food, because that person is the one who im communicating with and who knows what I want, not joe blow food-bringer #15. They punch into their little PDAs and then thats it, its totally out of their mind, god help you on the other end. It isnt the waiters fault, they try so hard. Its the system, and it sucks bad. and could we at least have a LITTLE light in the theater so we can see the menu/bill/anything at all? full lights off during the movie in a place with a menu is a little stupid. some of the food is kind of gross, some of it is pretty good. that premium price you pay for the food is for that service you arent getting.

Ive never heard of such "anyone under 6yrs of age is not allowed in a movie Rated " my husband and I purchased tickets online to see Girls Trip and we had our "2yr old grandson" YES 2 who half asleep but we purchased a ticket for him online as well , and they say when we get there that we cant bring him in the movies ! Ive never heard of such 1st false statement the "manager" comes and says its a La STATE law and its on the La website, so of course you know me "whats that site please?" They dont know the actual site so I ask for the General Manger or corp. contact # here comes Mr. Norwood .. I ask about the site he says "oh no its on no site its just s rule" well first of all your employee (mgr.) is giving out false information and then we go to get our refund and they say we have to wait 72 hrs for funds to go back to our card "THATSS THEIR RULE" my husband says "no Im not waiting for my money and I cant even see the movie, I want cash back, we did debut!" Ohhhh wow so miraculously a new rule pops up "WE GET THE CASH BACK!" Then no u cant get booking fee back , my husband says "yea I want all my money back" n Ohhh wow miraculously again we get booking fee back as well! This is just crazy ! If u want to stop a kid from getting in to Rated movies then stop the ones that are aware of whats going on and shouldnt b exposed to it !

Literally just left the theater and I was so disgusted by staff that I had to share my experience. This was mine and my familys very first time visiting here; we arent even from Covington. Right off the bat, we greeted the employees at the podium, let them know it was our first time and asked how everything worked as far as purchasing tickets & ordering food during the movie. The woman who I purchased my ticket from was SO rude. I wish I got her name. She even made a mistake on her part with giving us the wrong movie time and was still disgusting. My mom had a 100 dollar bill and the cashier was just like "I cant break that" Offered no help. I feel sorry for her and her being so bitter. When we tried to order food, the service was a slow start but very friendly. They made the experience enjoyable. Aside from the hassel of getting our tickets (which by the way made us late to our movie and we missed the beginning) the building itself is very nice, clean, amd spacious. And one more note; on our way out, a waitor almost backed into us and told us to "watch yourself". I really couldnt believe some of the ppl here. Lots of food options besides popcorn and it could be a nice break from a normal theater but with crappy staff like that, none of that matters. Not going back.

Me, my husband, son and his wife went to the Movie Tavern on Nov. 24, 2014 to see Hunger Games part 1 movie and to eat dinner. Theater was very nice and the seats were extremely comfortable. Service was terrible! My husband and I ordered an alcoholic drink, (which mine was wrong and his had a chip in the souvenir mug) small popcorn and each hamburgers with fries. We asked for the popcorn to be delivered after our meals. The popcorn came out a few minutes later, and then our meals came out before the movie started but my son and his wife received only their drinks and they were incorrect. They had to inquire about their food on 2 occasions and didnt receive until the movie was 3/4 over. When the waiter returned, they only agreed to remove the alcoholic beverages they received from their bill. I think that management should have stepped up and not charged them for the food experience. They had already paid for the movie and had constant interruptions from the food issues so missed much of the movie. I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else. As for myself, I think I will go back for the movie, but as for the dinning, popcorn and soft drink only for me!

Do not go here with the expectation that you are at a restaurant. This is a movie theater with some food sometimes. You will be waiting most of the movie for a simple order, and it will likely be wrong. But youll take it anyway, because: 1)the person who delivered the food is already gone 2) the wait for a waiter to come back will be LONG and hey really, the movie is almost over and you dont want to deal with someone disturbing the movie you paid for. 3)once they place your actual order, you will be waiting another 20 minutes which will by then likely be during the credits. Oh, and your second order STILL has a 75% chance of being correct. The popcorn tastes like a bucket of salt. The warm dishes are cold by the time you get them. Bagged salad is better than what they throw on a plate for you. But! The seats are comfortable, and theres tons of leg room, since waiters need room to scramble by. Go for the movie, not the tavern. Also, dont forget to tip, because the management requires the waiters to be there at 8am in the morning and stay 12 hours on what should be an 8 hour shift. Poor kids barely make minimum wage.
