Came for the Sunday Jazz Brunch, after hearing great things about it. We were not disappointed! The music was very nice, though played sporadically. We arrived, musician played one song, then was gone for about an hour, then came back, and played a couple of songs, then left again, then came back. When he was there it was really good though! BIG variety of stuff on their brunch menu. All kinds of breakfast meats (bacon, sausage, ham), grits about 4 different ways, fresh shrimp, lots of fresh fruit, a carving station, fresh pancakes, creme brulle french toast, eggs a couple of different ways, eggs Benedict, not to mention mimosas and Bloody Marys (first one is free). All the staff we encountered were very friendly, and the wait staff was prompt and unobtrusive. The scenery is wonderful! Weather permitting, go for dining on the outside patio. As visitors to Louisiana we loved brunching under a canopy, in the midst of the trees and dangling moss, with water slowly flowing past the dock. Rumor has it they have a couple of cats that come up to visitors and will hang out for free attention, but sadly none made an appearance for us. The ONLY reason I am not giving this a 5 star rating is because their desserts were quite sad. Not that they were bad per se, but.....they were purchased at Sams Club!!!! Trust me, I buy their desserts often enough to recognize their cinnamon buns, cookies and mini cheesecakes! Why on earth would a restaurant that is charging $25 a head for brunch serve dessert choices you can buy in bulk?!? Other than that, it was really a great brunch in a beautiful location.

Was on a first date. My sons wedding was there and the food was good for The wedding so I suggested it to my first time date. It was cold outside but we braves the cold to have a romantic dinner by the bayou. While the waitress was there taking our drink order a cat rubbed against my leg and scared me. The waitress brought our steaks out. A few minutes later I hear a "MEOW". I look to my left and here comes the cat WITH A HUGE RAT---YES I SAID RAT IN HIS MOUTH AND DROPS IT NEAR ME. We were the only people outside dining. I screamed and was frantically attempting to get the staffs attention. I ran to a corner and my date attempted to comfort me. I was crying and hysterical. Nice impression for a first date. A man came with a dust pan and scooped up the RAT. HE OFFERED ME ALCOHOL TO CALM DOWN--- I DONT DRINK. THATS ALL THEY OFFERED. I PAID FULL PRICE FOR MY MEAL. NOT EVEN A DISCOUNT. UNLESS YOU LIKE TO EAT WITH RATS STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!

Brought my Queen there September 6th for her birthday and it was amazing. We sat outside with a lovely view of the water and had lights down by the dock. It was very romantic with nice soft music and the waitress was so wonderful and friendly. To sum it all up the food was off the chain(season and cooked the way we ordered it and very reasonable prices). It was everything and more to make my Queen happy. I will definitely recommend to all who would love to have a high quality night out with your love one and once again the the prices and hospitality and the environment is priceless. We will be visiting there again and again etc. Thanks for the wonderful experience

We visited Palmettos for their Sunday brunch. The food was great, although none of the food was really hot, mostly warm. The variety of the food was amazing! The grits are a must-try! The first mimosas or bloody Mary is free, so we had a bloody Mary- which was very good! The only real complaint is the restaurant was quite warm and the service was slow. Seems the server is also the bartender and we waited a while for refills and our check. We also didnt sit outside, assuming it would be too hot, but we missed out on the music, since it was pretty hot inside, too.

Awesome! My two daughters and I found this place on a Tuesday night and made it just before closing. The service was excellent and they didnt rush at all. They were happy to serve us and made it a great night. We decided to eat outside as it was romantically lit. The overhead fans made it comfortable even in the summer heat. The atmosphere is very romantic with evening lighting and a dance floor. We were so glad that we decided to eat there. I got the grilled salmon... Highly recommend. Compliments to the chef. Ill definitely go back with hubby for date night.

I went with my family to Palmettos yesterday evening, and the experience was nothing short of lovely. Due to dietary restrictions, there was nothing on the menu that I could eat (although my parents ordered directly off the menu and were very impressed). The chef personally came out to talk to me, and he was so nice in making accommodations. I put my trust in him and was served an absolutely delicious meal tailored just for me. I highly recommend Palmettos for anyone in search of a warm atmosphere and wonderful food.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere that makes it one of the best locations in Slidell for a special occasion. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so whatever preference you should not have any issues. The food was delicious but seemed overpriced. I tried the turtle soup and it was some of the best Ive had at a restaurant not in New Orleans. My main course was a chicken feature but while it did not blow me away. I will definitely return but only for a special occasion.

Actually ********** 10 stars I cannot say enough about this place. The staff is welcoming and attentive. We were lucky enough to have our lunch on the back patio. Beautiful view. I started with the duck and andouille sausage gumbo. The only flaw was that I didnt order a bowl. I just had a small cup. Delicious. My duck confit salad was amazing. I will be back here as often as I can. Delicious. Dont miss out on coming here.

Beautiful atmosphere and the food was amazing. First let me say this place is a bit of a drive from NOLA but if you are renting a car and want to get away this place is worth the trip. It is on a small bayou and is beautiful. The ground are well maintained and well landscaped. The service was very friendly and super helpful. I had the shrimp and grits and my wife had a fish dish. Both were prepared perfectly and were perfect.

My wife and I celebrated our 50th Birthdays at Palmettos in a joint birthday party. We had about 70 people there and the food was GREAT, the atmosphere was excellent and ALL of our guest were EXTREMELY happy with the venue and the staff. I especially want to send a shout out to our bartender "Arianna" she was on top of her game! ** THANK YOU for memorable Birthday Party! **

The service is excellent, and the food is just wonderful. I had the Filet Mignon with asparagus and scalloped potatoes w/ what tasted like goat cheese and bit of red wine reduction sauce swirled on the plate. It only occurred to me after I had demolished it that I should have photographed it first. Patio dining is a must as is their bread pudding.
