Ive eaten here three times before, but its been awhile. I loved the atmosphere and the food was good. Went back to day with my wife and daughter, and was completely disappointed. My daughter ordered the shrimp fettuccine and it was horrible, sauce tasted like milk. I ordered the memaws fried chicken lunch special and asked what it came with and was told a childs spaghetti. The Chicken was overcooked and when I got my bill I was charged $5.95 for the kids spaghetti. All three of us agreed this will be our last visit. Looking at the reviews, Im wondering if there has been a change in ownership or management. FYI, the red sauce is pretty good, IF you like extremely sweet tomato sauce. If you dont you will not like half of their items that are made with it.

Okay the 2 stars is for the atmosphere. Good music, low lights, it has the potential for greatness. Where this place lacks is in food quality and service. I had the calamari, it is frozen and prebattered. The pastrami is like cold cut sandwich meat rather than real and fresh. The muffaletta was served with tomato slices. The waiter, well I think he tried but definitely not looking for a career in the service industry. I dont know the story behind Monjunis, but I think the original Mama Monjuni would shake her head at the shortcuts. If yall decide to cook fresh again let me know, Ill come back and update my review.

My girlfriend and I ate there last night. She had the shrimp scampi and I had the veal and beef pasta dish. The service was excellent but the food was very bland. No flavor what so ever. My girlfriend thought it was just her but I tasted it also no seasoning at all. The marinara was alright a little sweeter than I prefer. I cook gourmet style foods so I do know good food when I eat. My girlfriend is also Italian so I think that would mean a lot also. The Taramisu was store bought not homemade as was the bread pudding. Very disappointed in food quality.

Went here today with a friend because the reviews made it sound great... Sadly this was the worst Italian Ive had. Service was rough, we watched a table leave because no-one noticed them or came to help them. The bread was stale. I ordered the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and unfortunately it made olive garden seem like Italy. It was completely bland and overcooked. My friend had the baked ravioli, which was also very bland and not cooked well. It was absolutely overpriced for what it was, in the same price range as Ginos (go there instead).

Easily the best restaurant on this side of town. Friendly and fast service and the food is always perfect. My father swears its the best sandwich hes ever had. And the marinara sauce is so authentic and rich we bring home two jars every time we go. The setting is charming, rustic, and romantic to boot. Make sure you ask Jimmy, the owner, about all his great stories of the food.

I really enjoy this place for some good Italian food. They use a sweeter tomato sauce that I am used to, but I like it. Also ,not sure it would be good for large groups, as the restaurant is relatively small. When I have gone there is usually a wait, so I would recommend that you plan accordingly.

My favorite Italian place ever, counting everywhere I have lived! They have the best bread and sauce, fried raviolis, and veal parmesean. Every time I am back in Baton Rouge I have to go there. My husband and I love it and went as often as we could while we were at LSU.

awesome service. awesome food. server was scott. extremely friendly really really great with my 2 kids. went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable to give me and the misses some much needed visit time. cant suggest this place enough

Good if you live close by. Food is middle of the road. Its a nice little date spot for the atmosphere. If you go, get a table with Sandy, she is this restaurants best server. She never messes up your order, and always takes good care of us.

Always order curry chicken pasta salad but tonight it was terrible. Was swimming in so much dressing that it was almost unrecognizable. Waiter brought additional noodles but even then it was way too much dressing. Very disappointing.

All of their sauces fall short of my liking. The red sauce is sweet so on my next visit I went with the creme/white sauce which was just bland. Im sure the sweet sauce is indigenous to some region of Italy, but its not for me .

The best meatball po-boy I have ever eaten! Oh, that sauce! I ordered to through major menus and they delivered to my building. Even included garlic bread with their sauce and a side of olive salad. This place is fantastic!

My grandmother-in-law loves this place and I have no understanding as to why. The food isnt interesting or good. The service is indifferent and the prices are pretty high for what you get.

They changed the menu such as Bread pudding no longer has white icing dipping sauce. Rats that helped create the great taste of Bread pudding. O well back to the drawing board

The food is really good and the atmosphere is definitely casual. Good for a relaxed date. Dont let the prices fool you because the portions are big.
