I have been eating at all of the La Caretta locations for at least 5 years. I have NEVER experienced the terrible food and service like I have at the Bluebonnet location anywhere else. After a previous experience when the waiter cared more about flirting with a table of girls than serving anyone, I decided I would give this location one more shot. We went for lunch and the food was DISGUSTING. I got a La Mexicana and the enchilada was inedible because it was so hard and tasted like cold tomato sauce from a can had been poured over. I found a basil leaf in my quesadilla (which normally would not have been that big of a deal) but this was the last straw. It just showed how little time / care was spent preparing my meal. Will never return.

Having been dragged there 6 separate times (2 Lunches, a graduation, a birthday and 2 business dinners) this is the worst Mexican restaurant Ive ever eaten at. Service was OK, but the food is just poor quality. Nothing is well-seasoned, unpardonable for this cuisine. Ive had their fajitas twice, both were awful. The first they had no flavor - just strips of unseasoned cooked beef. The second time they were served ice cold; when returned to the servers, they were brought back lukewarm again with no seasoning. They also have a nasty habit of putting lettuce *in* their chimichangas and burritos - which means when cooked or just sitting on plate, the lettuce cooks inside the tortilla and resembles wet newspaper in texture and taste.

Get the Alambres plate! It comes with chopped steak, sauteed onions and cheese. It is similar to fajitias but the meat is better, cut smaller and has a lot of melted Monteray Jack cheese on top. It is served with their outstanding bean soup which is meaty and perfect, homemade flour tortillas, and all of the standard fajita fixins. The salsa is always fresh and light tasting. The queso is a delicious white version. This is one of my favorite Mexican places in Baton Rouge (because of the Alambres.)

We have been going to La Carreta on Govt. for several years. At first the quantity was good and they took care of your needs - spicy, very hot etc. now they dont. After the first remodel, the quantity was reduced, options were reduced and extra charges were made. Second renovation became worse. I now could finish the entire dish and still ready for some more chips. My family and I felt that the management is for making money and not the old way when they would go out and please the customer.

La Carreta truly loves their guests. I went in there the other day and to my surprise, they had remodeled again! Thier food is great, service is fast and they dont rush you to leave. Their margaritas are fantastic and they have all sorts of flavors! They offer wi-fi service so I know I can bring my laptop to study and have a margarita!! They treat every patron that walks in there with huge smiles and great attitude! Really enjoyed my lunch there! definitely will go back!

Un lugar muy acogedor, agradable para reunión familiar, y degustar una rica comida mexicana y otros platillos agradables a la vista, variedad de bebidas, exelente para comer con tu pareja 100% recomendable.

I ordered from this restaurant using the Waitr app. The food was quick and arrived in about 30 minutes, but my dinner portion of chicken quesadillas for $11.25 came with 3 tiny triangles that they tried to pass off as a "Dinner Plate". Not only is this the size of a normal kids menu meal, the cheese tasted old and bitter. Not satisfied

Years ago we would never have found this place. Thank goodness technology led us here while on our vacation. Good food, good prices, good employees, fast and clean! This satisfied my need for Mexican food away from home. If we are ever back in the area we will be sure to stop in again.

I absolutely love this place. Everything about it is awesome. The staff makes you feel like you are family. The atmosphere is cozy and unique and the value is amazing. I think you spend more at Wendy’s or Burger King! If you are looking for authentic Mexican food give this place a try.

Love the food, hate the experience. The staff is sad. Service is horrible. The wait to give drink orders is the worst ever. Always have been slow with not so good service...but i love the food and drinks. Im going to start going to the Bluebonnet location moving forward.

Nice casual restaurant to get some delicious Mexican food and margaritas. My favorite dish is the ground beef chimichanga (technically not listed on the menu). Prices are fair - the meals are about 12 to 13 dollars, but you do get large portions.

This is our familys go-to restaurant when we have time and money to spend! Excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. I recommend Diabla Shrimp & a mango-strawberry swirl margarita!

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Baton Rouge. Delicious! Great options. Not a traditional Mexican restaurant but a new twist on traditional dishes. Great drinks too!

I have eaten at La Caretta many times at many different locations. The service is usually very fast. The cheese dip is very good. The chimichangas are my favorite.

Dont order the queso, as 2/3 cup of melted cheese is $7.00. Everything else is tasty, but we only order sides, because the prices are a little high in entrees.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Baton Rouge. The food is not your typical "tex-mex." The tortilla and bean soups are very good. The alambres is amazing.

Good service. Bad food. Not authentic at all. The restaurant is more worried about presentation that the taste of their food. Also prices are a bit high.

Nice Mexican food. 3 stars because on our fajitas, there were more veggies than chicken. Hardly any chicken, mainly onions.

La Caretta is good but it seems like they are a little light on the quantity of food. Good food though!
