Ive eaten At Yummy Pollo and the chicken is by far the very-best in Louisville, But the sides really need to use more work, I am a Peruvian and Ive lived in Miami and the chicken there is great and the sides are consistent. I cant say that about the sides at Yummy Pollo, one day the garbanzo beans are terrific the next day they are dry and hard, the rice is never the same, too much cilantro,(its almost like they cook white rice and add the cilantro (chopped) right on top), not a good flavor. Come on guys, you bring a great product but the sides-need lots of consistency and work, you should think about having a chef the really knows about food science. I eat there almost everyday and I tell people about it and they come too, but we want to see better consistency in the rice cooking methods. And to have no bread that is not good, a great pulled chicken sandwich will top off the menu. I work for a large company accross from them and I ask if they will cater and the owner said that no he didnt, I mean come on even if we call in an order you cant because the phone rings and no one picks up the phone. Come on Yummy pollo its a great concept, and we Louisville people like eating out and we wish you all the luck in the world but if these little things do not be consistant honestly I can do the charcoal broil chicken in my back yard. I mean who is running this place. like I said I love the chicken but the sides and sauces are NEVER THE SAME, this is not good for a business that want to make it in Louisville.

Definition of Small Business Excellence At first glance, this restaurant is nothing spectacular from the outside, but all great hole-in-the-wall places are like that! The staff are super friendly and professional, the owner actively engages the customers to make sure they are enjoying their food. The restaurant is very nice and clean. And then there is the food... My wife and I had the dark quarter with two sides special for the day. The chicken is phenomenal and the owners suggestion of using the sauce he gives you with the rubbed chicken skin is out of this world! The chicken is incredibly juicy and moist and pairs well with the cilantro rice and yucca fries. All in all, the food was superb, the staff were extremely welcoming and I felt like I was eating at my neighbors house the entire time. Great Experience!

Here is a invitation to some great chicken. A owner who gets it, serves hot fresh tasty food with a staff that has a great attitude. I normally have some pictures for the reviews, sorry I wasnt able to take any today. The owner definitely wants his guest to have a great experience and he works very hard in being a gracious host. Making sure that he explains his products and where things are! For his efforts of having fresh tasty food his restaurant was packed, a line to the door. Its small and inviting without the corporate chain feel. What a great place to eat with friends they cater too! So take the invitation to try some Yummy Pollo fresh sides and variety of ways to order have fun.

I wanted to try this place because of all of the recommendations on Yelp! And I have to say I do not regret it! The chicken has a great flavor, which is not something I normally expect when eating restaurant chicken. I tried yucca fries for the first time and loved them and the yellow sauce is awesomeness! I ordered a 1/4 white, a 1/2 mixed and a fountain drink and paid under $20. Cant beat that deal! I was in line from order to pay for less than 5 minutes and the people were so friendly! Will definitely be going back.

I went today because I kept smelling it and it smelled soo good!! So I stopped in and got me a plate. I love it like seriously!! Ill be here more often!! Its a reasonable prices for the quality. Everyone was very nice. I met the owner who explained everything to me and he gave me there special sauces which were both great!! I dont like spicy anything and the cilantro jalapeno sauce was not spicy as all very smooth and tasty. I recommend this to anyone!! Hours can be odd but they definitely need more then 1 location!!!

If you doubt the majesty of strip mall food then you need to try Yummy Polo. They make Peruvian style chicken and they are proud of the quality of their ingredients. If youre looking for a healthy lunch then you have to stop here. The chicken was cooked to perfection, done in small batches in an oven from Lima, Peru, which makes it a unique and personal experience. The owner is very kind and very passionate about his product. My wife Katelyn and I will be back.

I just tried Yummy Pollo yesterday for the first time and I thought overall it was very tasty. I ordered the quarter white chicken and steak fries and green beans, the steak fries were slightly under cooked in my opinion but the chicken and green beans were really good. One of my coworkers ordered mashed potatoes as a side and said they were very bland compared to the rest of the meal, but she thought everything else was good as well.

My family and I have been here on a number of occasions and they never disappoint. The food is absolutely amazing and the service is top notch. The owner is always there sporting a smile on his face and greeting return customers often times by name. The only bad part about going here is the seating is crowded and just seems off, other than that though they have great staff and even better food.

Not a place you would normally stop at just based off location alone...but well worth getting off the exit! The sides I had (cilantro rice and salad) were fine but the real star of the show is the chicken. The chicken is DELICIOUS!!! The owners were also very nice. Added bonus...they have tables outside so I could let my dog sit next to me. Great place to stop off and grab some lunch!

Awesome restaurant! Fantastic food! Friendly owner and employees! I highly recommend Yummy Pollo! I didnt really know what to expect when my son and I went in, however, it ended up being one of my favorite restaurant experiences! My son continues to rave about how good the food was and how friendly the owner was! Please stop by and check out Yummy Pollo!!

This place came up when I googled "best places to eat in Louisville," and the reviews were rave. We went, and Ill go again whenever Im back in town. The owner explained their process to us; he was very nice and passionate. The food was wonderful, a unique taste. Good portion size. Good value. This could be a successful chain.

Just flew into Louisville and whats Kentucky without chicken? This chicken isnt fried but it sure is tasty and delicious. The sides are great and the sauces for the chicken are true Peruvian flavors. This is a must try spot. This is a local favorite and it shows with seating packed around lunch time.

Ordered whte meat chicken dinner , chicken was dry , I was not impressed, steamed vegetables were of the frozen and heated variety , mashed potatoes were good but the white gravy was bland and not very tasty or appealing to the eye. But the place is very clean and the employees are very nice.
