my boyfriend and i were passing through on our way to a wedding and stopped in to koreana for dinner tonight. the owner and server repeatedly ignored the couple sitting in the booth beside us. when the girl told the owner that she didnt care for her dish because it tasted like someone had dropped a black pepper saucer into it, the owner flipped out. she started yelling and outright told the girl that she never wanted to see her again and that she wasnt ever allowed back in the store. like an immature little kid, the owner wouldnt leave it alone. she was talking bad about the couple as she walked back and forth from the dining area to the kitchen. everyone in the restaurant could hear. she even stopped by the table several times and bitched at the girl for criticizing. the girl was very polite when she told the woman why she hadnt eaten all of her food. my boyfriend and i both heard her. we are both appalled by what happened. its too bad that its a family run restaurant, otherwise, i would have asked for the manager. and if the rude woman had been the manager, i would have called the district manager. you cant just tell someone not to come back if they politely say that they didnt like their food. i would have understood if the girl had been rude or had been causing problems. i usually dont comment or do these review things, but i just wanted to post this because i couldnt believe how obnoxious this woman was. also, getting refills on the side dishes was like pulling teeth. we will happily never return to this restaurant when we pass through again.

While it may lack ambiance Koreana makes up for it in authentic Korean dishes that will keep you coming back again and again. An extensive menu may seem a bit overwhelming but it would be difficult to make a wrong choice. Most dishes are large enough to share so take friends and order away. Everything is made to order and they make their own kimchi and pickles, which are add on to rice and noodle based dishes. Was so excited to see Bimbam Bop, a heated bowl in which sticky rice, vegetables, meat (or seafood) is added along with an egg that you stir in immediately to cook. The rice forms a golden crunchy crust in the bowl - so good youll find yourself wanting to return the next day for more.

One of the best deals in town for Korean food! It is a bit expensive, but the portions make up for it. Youll almost always end up taking some home unless youre very hungry. Comparing it to authentic Korean food, its a bit americanized, but not nearly as much as other places. There are a wide variety of dishes available, from Bibimbap (비빔밥) to Jajangmyeon (짜장면)! Be sure to try everything and find your favorite dish. Ive seen some negative comments regarding the owner, and heres my take: shes super friendly, outgoing, and loves to gossip. But I love it! You may feel shes in your face, but thats her personality. Shell definitely want to start a conversation with you!

I was told by a couple of people how great this place was. I decided to check it out. Went in and there was only one other table there eating. The Korean woman working was just standing there gossiping. Occasionally shed look over and Id make eye contact, but shed go right back to gossiping with the other table. 5-10 minutes went by and she never came over or asked what we wanted (not even if we wanted a drink of water), so we just decide to up and leave. She yelled out to us, "are you done?" I was thinking, "done with what, lady, you never gave us anything to be done with." Probably wont go back. Ever.

If the Stomach is the center of the Soul, Food must be its Religion. Chefs, as the givers of the Food, must be the High Priest and Restaurants are the Temples. At least this is the way that Lees cooking makes me feel. Always temperature perfect and exquisitely seasoned, I have never failed to be pleased here. Large servings almost always allow me to have extras for home except when I am very hungry. I have also never failed to be made to feel at home here and I am confused by some other things I have read. Go out and enjoy a hot, pleasing meal in a relaxed atmosphere at Koreana.

When I saw Koreana, I didnt think it would be that good of a restaurant. But of course I was changed after I ate there. I very much enjoyed the service, my waiter was very nice and even chatted with the customers! She helped suggest food, which was very well-cooked and delicious. The atmosphere is very nice, and we even talked with some other customers. All-in-all, it is a very nice place, delicious and well-cooked food, with a VERY nice waiter! It was also very clean, and I plan to go back soon!

My family and I visited Koreana a couple weeks ago while vising relatives in the area. We are big fans of Korean food and were interested in seeing what Lexington had to offer. Koreana did not disappoint. I got a big bowl of spicy noodle soup, my stepdaughter got noodles with black bean sauce, and my wife got a Korean pancake. All were delicious, but we agreed that my stepdaughters choice was best. The staff were very friendly, and we would definitely visit again.

I have been eating at this restaurant for several years. I have never had a bad meal. Everything is prepared fresh and hot. Large selection. The female owner runs the show! The prices are right and the portions are large. I always see a lot of Koreans and other orientals eating here.

This restaurant has great food! It is always hot, the portions are HUGE, and the server is friendly :) My only complaint is that if they are busy, service can be a little slow as they only seem to have one server at a time. It is definitely a hidden gem in Lexington!

I am Korean American, born in Korea. This is the worst Korean wanna be restaurant I have ever tried (and I have tried many over many years). Food was not flavored properly nor prepared in an authentic manner. Service was horrid and she was rude/mean.

Closest thing I can get to home cooking when I cant make it home. Best place to get authentic Korean food in all of Lexington and surrounding areas. Ive tried them all but this place is the best.

Best Korean restaurant ever. I have been coming here for 13 years and have yet to be disappointed! I would give them more stars if it would let me! If it ever closes, i will be very sad!

I have been looking forward to this meal for weeks. If I had to pick one cuisine to eat for the rest of my life, it would be Korean. And I would hope it would be prepared here.

Really authentic Korean in an unassuming strip mall in the woodhill shopping center. I always get the kimchi jigae and its never disappointed.

The food was amazing! The only thing that was a bother was this stir fry I got with the rice. It stank our car up (according to my relatives).

Very casual and authentic. I love being able to hear the cooks talk and laugh in the kitchen. The food is so good. God bless Korea.
