This is not indian food. I know indian food. I am married to an Indian and have learned to cook it from his mother, grandmother and his aunts. I agree with the "Believe it or not..." guy minus his rash way of putting it. This food is tasteless and lacks key spices that make indian food indian food. The Malai Kofta, which is my favorite dish is absolutely horrible. The vegetable Samosas are edible, but usually the stuffing isnt mixed up enough so the spice isnt covering all the veggies inside. But lets be honest, it is hard to do samosas wrong. A friend of the family asked them to cater for one of our get togethers and they treated her VERY poorly AND quoted her a lower price than they asked her to pay after the fact. If you ask me that is just BAD buisness! If it was a misunderstanding they should have taken the quoted price instead of arguing in order to assure repeat buisness. It is called Customer Service! If you are looking for GOOD indian food go to Nashville and eat at SITAR off of West End, not here!

Eight of us dined at Taj Palace on March 11 and we (people with very individual tastes and dietary requirements) enjoyed every dish we ordered. We had various appetizers as well as main courses. The lamb saag was tender and delicious, the grill platters generous and varied and on and on. Im not sure why someone has written that this isnt Indian food. Perhaps they arent aware of the wide variety of food served in that huge and varied country! The Nepalese cook(s) do a great job and have a few items on the menu that is typical of their variation on Indian cuisine. The service is a little slow, but thats because each dish is prepared fresh. Relax and enjoy the anticipation of a good meal on its way! Servers were friendly and able to communicate quite well with us. My husband and I often go to their noon buffets (Tues.-Saturday) and find the selections also excellent. Dont miss out on one of the best restaurants in Bowling Green!

I heard couple of my friends saying that these guys serve Left overs next day and unfortunately I experienced it once when I ordered a dish of Panneer butter masala which was malodor. And even after my complaint they acted as if they were changing the dish and brought the same one (this was disgusting). I rate this at the pessismal point of all the restaurants I have been to (especially Indian). I am a great food lover and I am saying this is the worst restaurant I have ever been or recommended. The staff is very ill-mannered and they consider customer satisfaction to 3 things Money !! Money !! Money !! The guy who tips more will be regarded and reverenced else they dont even care you. Finally I can say 3 things 1. Food - never better 2. They prefer money to man 3. Please tell your friends not to go and waste your health and money. cheers..

This place is pretty good. It is probably the best ethnic restaurant in BG. Usually, when you go to smaller towns in U.S. you get some lame version on ethnic cuisine if you go to a place like this one. But these guys do a good job. This place is not a TRULY Indian restaurant (e.g. something you might find in NYC) because they had to adjust it for the local taste (tone it down, perhaps) and because the people who run the restaurant are from Nepal (I think). I would recommend their buffet (available at lunch) if you never ate there before. I must say, however, that the dishes from the menu are better than their buffet stuff. If you feel like suffering, order your food "native" - they will make it SO SPICY, you will be sweating.

Horrible... Terrifying.. sad place to take ur loved ones... Ridiculous values for customers.. they deliberately gt wrong or cold food and once u request for replacement.. they charge u for both.. am not surprised that many of them are facing the same problem. I also found hair strands in food.. and the management argues that its not their cooks... they have no respect for customers. Am shocked when the management asks you to give more tips than we include. Its better to starve than eating this food !!!! Sincere request.. if u dont want to ruin your day... u better DONT go...

I guess Im not an Indian food person. Some friends wanted to go for lunch and I like Thai food so I figured Id find something there. First, the buffet was small, one little table and maybe 8 feet of hot entrees and appetizers. I sampled several things on my first pass and it was OK. I sampled more items on a second pass but it still wasnt anything Id want to try again. It was over $11 with just water to drink. If you like Indian food, maybe this is your place. Im more of a Mexican or Japanese cuisine kind of guy, both of which are cheaper and in the same group of buildings.

The food sucks....Wanna risk your health? maybe I will rephrase in this way, wanna try a free non-veggie (roach, rat, flies, etc.,) which is not ordered....The food is not an Indian cuisine but that shi*** Nepalian (manager) runs the shop in the name of Indian cuisine restaurant just to cheat people and earn money. All the people working in that restaurant are rude in their manners and behaviors except the Male chef inside the kitchen, who is really from India. My sincere suggestion would be save ur buds and ur loved ones from these fraudulent restaurant ppl.....

I was not sure if this restaurant is worth even 1 star, but I have no choice, I need to enter atleast 1 star to state its poor. 1. Food - crap, atleast i can adjust considering I will not go again 2. Customer service - The worst of all, no basic decency (amazing they survived this long) 3. Management - The most pathetic, I saw some review saying they charged extra... comon dude this is regular thing for them (I guess the poor guy is new to this place and had no idea of whats going on at Taj)

This place is fooling the people with worst presentation of the Indian authentic dishes. We were served Biryani- Rice mixed with tangy tomato purees with onions half boiled, red chilly powder jacketed all over and pre-cooked chicken/mutton/veg tossed in that. All the Biryani lovers here never had expected this in dream and lost the taste buds instantly running around for water. Stay hungry, stay foolish... But dont dare to order Biryani here. Sad enough for not able to give a minus rating!!!

Enjoyed my experience at the Taj Palace. The food was well prepared, and the restaurant was very clean and well arranged. My waitress was very polite, and even recommended a seat that was well-lit (I had my Nook with me). Even if youve never had Indian food but are looking for something other than chicken and collard greens, give it a shot. Let them know the types of food you are typically interested in, and they can recommend a dish that you are sure to enjoy.

My wife and eat here often. We will occasionally have a sub-par dish, or slow service, but the food is generally excellent and flavorful. I have never ever experienced anything like some of the negative reviews Ive read. Not once. I think the food, especially the butter chicken, and the naan is very tasty, and if you know any vegetarians, this is a great choice because they have many things on the menu to choose from.
