PLAYA AZUL Old Town is the worst...called to order my menu and give approximate # of guests after booking their party room a few weeks ago...the manager/owner got on the phone and said we dont do those anymore, go somewhere else!" I politely told him that I was calling to order food for our party of 20, and at this late hour there was no other place I could go -- and he says, "I dont care, dont come here!" Fine butthead, I wont go there and will tell my 428 FB friends not to either!!! Cant believe they couldnt have at least called me (I gave them my # and info when I booked it after spending $85 there with friends for dinner). SO RUDE.

I love eating at Playa Azul, its great and the express lunch menu is cheap. I ate here nearly everyday in Larned, Ks, while on a contract job there, and can say this Playa Azul is just as good. They also treat repeat customers very well, as we got offered free drinks more then once, and the service is great. Some of the waiters may not be the best at their jobs, but they have good personalities and are very friendly for the most part. I have honestly ate at 3 different Playa Azuls probably 30+ times and have never had a single problem.

Honest review: We just finished eating our plates (Carne asada, steak & shrimp) I can honestly say, it was the best Mexican food. we have travel all around the US and this takes #1 spot, #2 is la Costa in Wilmington NC. The service was amazing, Mr. Juan treated is like if we were in a 5***** restaurant. Prices are great. Great music Bachata, salsa, etc. You must come here at least once. We will be regulars from now on. Thank you.

Terrible. Ordered a Jose Cuervo Margarita and got a horrible house Margarita (bill showed house Margarita not Cuervo.) Waiter asked my guest 2 times if he wanted chicken or beef chimachanga, he said beef both times and got chicken. Terrible salsa, margaritas, food and service. This place should be shut down and someone with knowledge of running a good Mexican restaurant needs to move in.

I have always enjoyed the food at Playa Azul. The waitress we had was very nice and helpful. My daughter and I both had a combination plate with a taco, beef enchilada, tamale, chalupa, Chile relleno, beans and rice. Needless to say, we both needed to go containers! But, it was wonderful! We also had the white cheese dip with our chips. They make a very good white cheese dip.

Ive eaten at the Old Town Playa Azul twice and enjoyed it both times $1 miller lite bottles Monday thru Thursday I think. Hard to find reasonable beer prices in OT. The food was good too. The chicken chimi was excellent but it was kind of small but I actually preferred it as a portion size. I dont need a meal that weighs 3 pounds! The chorizo nachos were good too.

The wait time was awful!!! We had to wait to be seated because the hostess was helping customers pay their bills. After ordering we waited an hour for our food, which was not a good portion size for the money. The Playa in Hutchinson, KS has much better service and we receive our food in 15 minutes. I do not recommend.

Coworkers and I had an excellent lunch experience today. The server was friendly and efficient. He brought all 8 or our plates out at once. 6 on his arm, 2 in his other hand. He took a risk... and it paid off. Would go back again in a heartbeat... maybe for dinner again tonight? :) Not sure if they have a website tho.

Youd think that a Latina-owned Mexican restaurant would know something about Mexican food. But youd be wrong. The salsa was like vegetable soup with cayenne, and the burritos? Well... lets just say its a sad day when McDonalds-owned Chipoltes puts you to shame. My advice? Drink lots of margueritas before you order.

This is such a great restaurant! Their bean and quest dip is to die for as well as their chicken fajitas!! Not to mention they have great prices. If you are looking to get out and eat without spending a bunch of money this is the place to go. The staff is also very kind every time my girlfriend and I go there

Great service, our waitress was very attentive and nice. Food was really good too, went in there knowing what sort of thing I wanted (a lot of meat and seafood) and found just that in one dish. Didnt get to try the margaritas but they seemed really cheap at 2.25 that day. Definitely will be coming back

My family has been to this restaurant 20+ times, and I cant think of a time where we were not happy with the service, food, and overall experience. I have four children, and their staff is always friendly and patient with us (not always the case in other restaurants).

Out of all the playa azuls the one in agusta is the best the el dorado then the one in downtown after that I go some other restraunt because of repeated bad experencies at the other locations food is really food love eat at the agusta one or downtown

This is a favorite of ours when we want a quick sit-down meal of Mexican food. The location is great for a weekend date with numerous Old Town hang-out spots within walking distance. Their week-day lunch menu is also excellent and they are FAST!

Come here all the time. Server recognizes us and remembers what we like. (Which isnt common in the city) Great place to come sit down have a well priced Margarita, watch a game, and have reasonably priced food with good daily specials!

Fairly decent food with kind of mediocre service. Maybe it was just that day. I dont know. Theres probably better out there so maybe scope things out a bit before deciding on this place. Its in a nice part of town, though.

Great service and food well-prepared. Salsa seemed more cooked thsn fresh, we prefer fresh crisp spicy salsa. Staff helped celebrate a friends birthday with fancy sombrero for her photos and a birthday song ..she loved it!

Everything we ordered was good. I was happy to see vegetarian fajitas on the menu. They were excellent. I was also pleased that the waitress got the chef to do a side of grilled vegetables for the kids meal we ordered.

The food is not that great. The red sauce tasted like ravioli sauce in an Italian restaurant. The wait staff very rarely came around to our table. The food is pretty bland and just doesnt taste that great.

Go here for a quick lunch. Food is OK, service is OK, but building is a little run down. Burnt out bulbs, torn seats, and chipped walls. Could really benefit from an overhaul.
