First off, I try hard to rarely give out 5 stars. Places that have a unique feel and where the atmosphere and in this case the food work well. The tamales, burrito loco, shrimp nachos, tortilla soup, chile relleno, and horchata were all surprisingly excellent. It takes quite a lot to impress me but the staff and food was absolutely fantastic. The fact that they had horchata was pretty awesome! The shrimp was cooked perfectly on the nachos and burrito. The tortilla soup had a half avocado in it which was a good addition. The aesthetic of the place is really cozy and fun, reminds me of my trips to Mexico. The tamales are certain home made and taste may as good as everything else, quite honestly this is my top Mexican restaurant so far, simple and good food. I highly recommend this place and I hope you have the same cook and staff I did because they were spot on, just an all over good meal.

I went with a friend on Cinco de mayo. We were not happy with our service. Keep in mind we dont except much when resturants when theyre busy. We understand. Our server did not take her time to comprehend any thing we told her. I only ordered a water and a entree. My friend ordered a water, a margarita, and a entree. She asked for both our ids. When she came back with our drinks, she only brought two margaritas. Which was fine, but she ran before we could remind her about the waters. When she came with the food about a 45 minutes later we finally were able to ask for our waters. She brought them right away. The food and drinks were amazing and large portions too! We ordered a Togo order for my friends husband. We told her it needed to be on my friends bill. We told her about four times it had to be on her bill. Go for the food! Its amazing!

Excellent! Im from Colorado, so I crave Chimichangas smothered in something we call green chile. This restaurant has great service and food for great prices. The salsa and queso are delicious, some of the best Ive had in 5 different states. They even will honor requests of changing menu items. I asked them to fry my burrito (so it would be like a chimi) and to switch the queso with tomatillo sauce and it satisfied my craving like none other! Delicious! If you take home left overs, those are great the next day too! Im so grateful I found this place!!!

I dont know of any amazing Mexican restaurants outside of Southern California or Mexico. El Toro is good... not amazing, simply good. Their chips could be better but, other than that, I havent had a bad item from the menu in the 10+ times Ive visited this establishment, and I always order something new. The environment is nice for a Mexican joint, as it does not smell like cleaning solution and they have a fireplace. I recommend the Chiles Verdes and/or the Combo Fajitas.

Absolutely delicious lunchtime beef fajitas with corn tortillas. Wait person brought flour tortillas, and when he delivered the meal I checked with him whether they were corn or flour. I am gluten intolerant, so thats a problem. He apologized and promptly replaced the flour with corn tortillas. Fast and courteous service. The place could use a good deep cleaning.

Service was bad, my aunt & I ate there & the waiter didnt listen to our order she asked for corn tortillas, she got flour, I asked for only beans with my chicken fajitas he came back with rice too, she waited a whole hour for corn tortillas, & when I.came back to.get my notebook,The waier starts playing with me by giving me someone elses credit card book.

It was an overall ok experience. The male waiters seemed much more engaged with their tables. Our waitress was kind of lame. Not the best view and that makes a difference in the overall experience. We had a pickup truck parked right next to our window. The burrito carnitas was pretty salty and the enchilada supremos was a little bland. Good mojito!!!

Seeing it on the Specials board, I had the oppurtunity to have a huge tasty fish burrito. There are large chunks of fish in there you can see. I am told it is not on the menu but you can ask for fish tacos or burritos. I wonder what else they serve. I have seen oysters on the half shell again you need to ask. I go there again!

We have eaten here several times and really enjoy the place. The fajitas are very good and plenty to eat. The shrimp quesadas are great also. On Friday nights they have a Mariachi trio that are fun and pretty good too. The servers are very friendly and attentive. The place is clean and and the atmosphere is family friendly.

Absolute worst experience! 25 minutes to order drinks. 45 to order food. 1 hour to get food. Then when they get your order wrong they pretend like they dont understand you. One of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. Go down the street to another restaurant and save your self some time. Absolute worst!

Great speedy service. Horchata was the best Ive ever had. Only complaint was that I ordered a 5 dollar burrito with beans and rice. The burrito ended up being just a flour tortilla filled with ground beef and topped with red sauce and shredded cheese. I ALSO ordered the jalapeño poppers. Those where pretty good.

I just moved to shakopee and wow this place is amazing!!! I actually tried Pablos tonight because its the only other mexican restaurant in town other then El Toro, and I was so mad that I didnt go to El Toro. This place has the best mexican food ever, great taste with amazing flavor.

i went for a class project and it was good but they didnt give me a receipt with the stuff i got so i failed because we could not get any nachos tacos enchiladas burritos or quasidillas becasue my teachers is a retard and i didnt have proof that i had fajitas

The service was prompt and friendly. The food was excellent, I would recommend the fajitas. The atmosphere was average, about what you would expect. Go for the Jose Cuervo Margarita....quality! In this one horse town, "The Bull" is King!

My new favorite Mexican restaurant! cant wait to come back. Burrito Rancheros was amazing. The wife had the combo special and loved it. Anything with the shredded beef is going to be amazing. Service was psychicly fast.

If you are looking for excellent authentic Mexican cuisine, this is the place! Its about a 1/2 an hour drive for me, but whenever Ive got a hankering, its worth the drive. Ive never been disappointed!

Meal was good but refused to take my payment in cash and wanted my credit card. Told them all I have was cash which they reluctantly made change for. Bill was 31 bucks and I used 2 20s.
