I meandered on over to the Mill with a few buddies last week for an evening brew and chill session. The patio was especially nice of a warm spring evening and aside from the smoke from our neighbors, the ambiance ws very nice. Classic dive bar look w/ an entry door that seems smaller than it should be, a dark interior and plenty of signage that screams - this was new back when your parents drank here. The beer selection was not particularly impressive, though the "extra" beers on tap aside from PBR and bud light were nice. The Bells Cream Stout is always a crowd pleaser and you dont often see it outside Reds - gold star! The pizzas, I hear, are very good, but at $16 for a medium, it runs a little on the high side. The appetizers were not especially eclectic aside form the Fried Broccoli - excellent choice! Three of us shared a basket and it was strong to quite strong. Different texture than Im used to and we were all happy to be getting our veggies = winning! When we came in they were understaffed, but were able to work it okay. Solid dive bar in the downtown area with some decent food and a nice patio. Worth stopping by to grab a brewsky and chill for a bit. Better to sit outside as inside is a bit dark for my taste. Standard beer selection w/ a few extras to sweeten the plum -worth checking out.

Ive never been when its a bar at night so I cant judge it for that, but as far as a restaurant in the daylight goes this place is bested by many. The food is sub-par for bar food and the service is exceptionally slow. Once I went in w/a friend, sat down (its seat yourself) there were only 2 other customers in the restaurant at the bar w/beer only and the bartender looked at us but let us sit in the booth for 10 min. before we just decided to get up and leave because we were never given menus or asked for drink orders. Go if you dare, but expect the servers to be walking in mud theyre so slow.

Worst experience I have ever had. We reserved a table a month in advance for my birthday and were treated horrible. The waitress with brown short hair is the worst. I would never ever recommend going back for this reason. Not only was she hostile to my face when I asked her where we were going to sit two of my friends (again we had reservations so it shouldnt have been difficult) the restaurant was freezing cold and only half of our dinner was good. If I didnt have a party that night I would have walked out. Hated it!

We went there last Thursday. The name of restaurant is The Mill, and it is behind the Starbucks, so I really like this place. The Mill provides several different kinds of pizza, such as BLT, CLASSIC, DIRTY BIRD etc. I think layout and environment of The Mill are great. There are not many people as we think because maybe its not time for eating, so it is quiet and comfortable to eat. We are looking forward to next trip.

Strong local vibes and very friendly staff, which makes for a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is varied but they stick to what they know, so what they do, they do well. Awesome beer selection, good mixed drinks, seasonal cocktails. They host some of the best shows and events (comedy, music, significant sports and political events, their own parties) in Iowa City. I love it, its my go-to spot.

This is where Americans go to be American. Eat and drink and rock out, loudly, in the front, in the back, in the beer garden. Perfect haven for those avoiding the 19 year olds wearing tank tops and puking in the ped mall during a January snowstorm. Personally, I like the spaghetti and the juke box. When the mood is right this is where I go to play bloody knuckles.

If youre at an event, expect slow service and neglect. Dont dare order delivery! It may or may not happen, depending on how short staffed they are - which they usually are. And watch your credit card statements...you may have given up on delivery (within 2 hrs), but they havent forgotten to charge you!

One of the best music venues in Iowa City. They have a lot of interesting artists come through. Some good appetizers and foods. This place is known for bar food and as a cornerstone of the Iowa City music scene. They also have some political events here from time to time: fundraisers, things like that

Restaurant is very comforting. Outdoor patio is small and seating is limited, but the environment is great. The food was excellent. Servers were very friendly and courteous. Would highly recommend if you are considering getting drinks on a Friday night and looking for some live music or outdoor patio.

Worst experience ive ever had. As a server myself I tried to give our waiter the benefit of a doubt, but he didnt check on us one time, and even if he did he would have found out that our food was awful. Slow service and even worse food.

Group event held here, I really like the atmosphere of the place. I think it would be quite pleasant to sit outside in that back courtyard in summer. There was never enough pizza for the group event, but what I got I enjoyed.

This is a politically liberal/progressive hangout, even by Iowa City standards. They have some interesting shows, but the food is probably the worst I have had in Iowa City. Would recommend sticking to drinks/shows.

The burgers are very good, and so is the garlic cheese bread. Some of the servers are kind of spacey, though. And the place isnt as clean as one would like. But we love sitting outside when the weather is nice.

Took three hours for a pizza to be delivered. Were treated rudely on the phone after we called to check on the order...AFTER TWO HOURS. Were not offered a refund or discount. Pizza arrived stale/old/cold.

Pizza was really good, but crust was too tough to cut with knife or fork, so I had to eat it with my hands. The toppings were excellent though! Bartender helpful. Service was good.

Great atmosphere and concert venue! Friendly bartenders and a decent menu for food. The mill has an awesome open mic night on mondays and other good concerts throughout the week.

I enjoyed my food and had a great experience at a concert at The Mill. Wonderful venue for entertainment because it offers an intimate atmosphere--so close to the performer.

Great bar with attentive staff. Larger part of the bar is dedicated to various shows and open mic opportunities. Food is very good. The burgers here are very tasty.

Have always loved the Mill. From the age of 19 to 36, and it is still awesome! :) ♡ It feels like old Iowa City, hipster before actual Hipsters were a thing.
