Went there for lunch today (opening day). Menu said all meats in the sandwiches come "Wet" (no sauce) but can be ordered "Dry". I ordered the burnt end sandwich and ordered it dry because you can really get a good idea how good the meat is. When it came out they were slathered in sauce. It was explained to me that "They need to be kept with sauce on them because theyre burnt and its not possible to keep them without sauce on them or they dry out". Im not denying that its difficult to keep them, but a trip on the interstate to Smokey Ds will prove that its "not possible" wrong. Their burnt ends are the best in the business and never come with sauce on them. The sandwich was still decent. Id recommend not putting burnt ends in a place that says they can be ordered dry, and then when giving an explanation just say thats how you do them. Saying its not possible when competition does it does not sound good. Still, opening day, I get it theres kinks. They did a lot of work on the building and it looks decent. You can tell a lot of hard work went into making it look rustic.

I am a 56 old sales representative who travels 6 midwestern states: Very nice place close to my hotel where i stay regularly. David the bartender was great! I had the meatloaf and it was very tasty with a pit, smoked flavor...really cool. The beer was good although i just drank some bud light drafts. I had a few conversations with some friendly patrons too. The restaurant was clean and very comfortable with some good tvs. Here is the bad; The manager was a dick and rude. I was playing a song on my phone because the bartender was a fellow musician and we were talking about music. There was no one at the bar but me and my phone can only be so loud.....really? Almost a perfect experience...lighten up dude! Last I knew customers were suppose to be treated nice and with respect!

Good variety of menu items, and even something simple, like a Club Sandwich, has a nice unique flavor with smoked meats! Stars deducted because the tables were pretty beat up, lots of trash on the floor and outside the front doors. This was 3:30 in the afternoon, seems like there could have been time to clean up after the lunch rush. Service was pleasant and attentive, but food was brought to the table by someone else, who dropped and dashed, not even a "Youre welcome." Last thing, this place has a mix of high and low tables. If you are like me and prefer low, request when you get there, they dont ask for preference.

So I went to eat there today ... Our weitress was really nice so I give 5 starts to her, however when I got my food t was cold... And I mean cold.... They took my food back into the kitchen to warm it up... Really in a microwave... Really.... When I got it back parts of the meat was still cold... People only thing that was suppose to be cold in my order is pop and cottage cheese that I ordered not meat and mash potatoes come on now .... Horrible.... Charged me 40 dollars for entire order (3)... Get the f.. out of here... I will never go there , ever... Ever....

After traveling 23 days and over 7,000 miles, my husband and I vote Wobbly Boots the very best in BBQ food. We try to visit local restaurants because the chainy ones can always be had in Indy where we live we love trying local places. My husband said he would not mind driving from Indy to Iowa for their delicious food, super service and atmosphere that make you feel at home. Thank you for letting us sample the burnt ends...again the best and my favorite the pork nachos....to die for. I recommend to anyone traveling near to visit.

Best BBQ in Des Moines! No really it is the best. The baked beans are perfect. The smoked chicken is perfect, the meatloaf is excellent, the tenderloins are gigantic, the pulled pork is great. The barbecue sauce is great if you are from this part of the country. I have never had a bad meal here and I will keep coming back. The atmosphere and service have been great every time of day. I brag about this place to friends and family. I honestly have no affiliation with this restaurant. My review is my own. Enjoy!

Ordered 1/2 rib, burnt ends and sausage with beans and slaw. Pretty much a sampler of garbage as it was all re-heats from yesterday. Only one way to cook the color and flavor out of meat and that is to not serve fresh. Beans are out of the can with minced onion and brown sugar- boring. The slaw is reesers out of the bucket. Definitely no talent here folks. No wood-pile either. Imagine that, a BBQ joint with no wood pile Pho-Q!!!

If you need a place to unwind from the everyday grind, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse is the perfect place to go. Every time my family comes out to visit friends/ family we eat here. They have phenomenal BBQ and a large variation of craft beer and cocktails to choose from! Their staff is one of a kind and the atmosphere is fun. If youve never been here before I urge you to head on in, I promise you wont be disappointed!! Cheers!

I was highly disappointed in the BBQ. To be honest, it ranks up there with some of the worst that I have had. All of the meat: sausage, brisket, burnt ends, ham, pork, was extremely dry and tasteless. The best part of the meal was the piece of bread that came with it. Would not recommend going to this place if you are a BBQ enthusiast. Go to McDonalds and get the Mcrib instead.

Went there for Mothers Day and I ordered a Well Done patty melt. It came back medium rare. Sent it back and they said 10 to 12 min for well done. No apologies my food came back when my family was done eating with no grilled onions! They tryed charging us until my husband made a big deal about it. A Happy Mothers Day lunch to me... Bad service will not ever go back!

The food is great. The server took 30 minutes to take my order and the place was dead we were one of three tables and there were four servers. Never came back to refill my water. So I didnt have anything to drink the whole meal. Everyone at my table told me not to tip him...i did give a small tip anyways because Im not rude.

Went in for lunch, took about an hour to be in and out, standard time. The staff was helpful and recommended the burnt ends. Damn they were good. The Beef Brisket left a little to be desired. Friend had the smoked sausage and that was so good that even people in Israel would eat it. Will definitely be coming back.

Service was nice and the young lady at the front was very pleasant. However the food was not good. The meat we ordered was overcooked and dry (boneless wings, brisket & baby back ribs). The sides were just ok although the cole slaw was not creamy at all. Overall it was not good enough for us to return :/

Im not Katie. Her Dad. The rub was much too spicy for us. Pulled pork was watery. Ribs were tough. Pit ham was terrible. Had to add salt to it. No taste. Best thing was the potato soup. Great stuff. If I go back I will just get a bowl of soup. Needs a milder rub
