I was visiting the Kansas City area and went to the playboys location nearest Lees Summit. We had a decent size group and ordered 2 pounds of brisket, 1 pound of turkey, 1 pound of sausage, 1 pound of pulled pork, and a slab of ribs. I think the first question I asked was if they offered pickles and onions (we are going through the drive-through), they told us they came of pickles which is fine , Unfortunately for us they gave us exactly 2 slices of pickles that were just thrown on top of the turkey which was both dry and bland. The brisket was not only dry but had virtually no smoke on it there was no visible smoke ring and no smoke flavor it tasted like roast beef one mightve made in a roaster pan or oven. The ribs were also bland but they slathered it with the barbecue sauce I thought was a little too sweet. If they offered a choice of sauces they didnt ask me and I didnt notice. The pulled pork was good and very tender and the sausage was also very good. However Im sure they dont stuff the sausages there so I dont know that I want to give them credit for the sausage.overall I was very disappointed with the product and would not recommend plowboys. With the amount of good reviews and awards I was very disappointed in what we received for a meal that cost well over $100

Been here one time with my daughter and wife and ordered a kids meal, two combo sandwiches, one drink and the total was $33 kind of high for that but hey i overlooked it. So we got our food and hell there was only 3 pieces of meat on a turkey and brisket sandwich on both of them, the high school kids that work there annoyed us the whole time we ate while they talked as loud as possible on there break at the next table over. This is far from award winning BBQ, and at that you dont even get what you pay for. I personally have not gone back since it opened and anyone that has asked me how it was i told them to not go, this place does not even deserve a star in my book i can make better BBQ at home in my little smoker at home.

My first visit to this place went because i saw it on the news that Mayor Sly James went to try new street car sandwich is not at the Blue Springs Restaurant. Me and my sister wanted to try something new and wanted BBQ we got two burnt ends and two sides total cost $26.33 there wasnt enough between both platters to make one meal let alone two about 6 little chunks of meat on what may have been texas toast 4 slices of pickle two small cups of cheesy potatoes (semi raw) and mac and cheese (old tasteing) side dishes were horrible this was suppose to be competition BBQ what happened not worth the money will not be back. I drive into KC for some BBQ next time.

- this is a review and pictures for the downtown one which google currently says doesnt exist. I tried a pork sand which I thought it okay/average. I tried 5 of there sides the best one was there was potato salad on par with 3 little pigs and jack stack bbq. I did not like there beans though they told me it was well liked. There Mac n cheese was average/okay same for cheesy potatoes . Green beans bad/okay. Also the food was kind of cold for 1 hour to closing. I havent tried anything else on the menu I expect jack stack beats there burnt ends but I may holdout hope but their mainly average to worse so far.

I usually order ribs when I visit a BBQ joint. Ive had the ribs at Plowboys and they are excellent. I went back yesterday because I heard their burnt end sandwich won some big time award. I figured I "needed" to try it. I was not disappointed! Tender, flavorful, and I really like whatever their hottest BBQ sauce is! So good! The fries at Plowboys are also better than almost all the other BBQ joint fries. I say almost, but I honestly cant recall any better at the moment. Baked beans are the other thing Im picky about at a BBQ joint. They arent fantastic, but Id say above average. Worth a visit!

This is a regular weekly stop. The #2 Stockyard is my favorite unless I am in the mood for Burnt ends, these burnt ends are the best around. THis place is like other notable BBQ places in KC with out 1 thing. The lines. or a wait, they bring your food to you, have sauces that are award willing and they should be, they dont overpower the great smoke flavor of the meat. two types of slaw, Sweet potato fries. With two locations I bet we see one in the Northland. I sure want one closer to my home and ya know what Parkville could sure use some great BBQ

You dont get very much food for the money you have to pay. $13 for 7 pieces of burnt ends for a burnt end platter. (See picture attached) This has been happening more and more. You guys in the blue springs location are not taking care of your drive-thru customers. Nothing like when you get to work and open you lunch and see this. Definitely not like the other pictures that get posted on here. But again this is drive-thru. Even though it may be good, definitely not worth the drive to get to the place and not worth the money spent.

Tried Plowboys for first time last evening and was very pleased. They offer several different sauces which is great. The portions were plenty and especially the fries. Usually when you carry out , most restaraunts give you a spackling of fries. Not here . They gave a good amount. Food was all very good. My family all agreed and the sides we got were bbq beans, cheesy corn, and potato casserole. All very good. I would recommend them to all of my friends.

This is the first time I have ever written a review, but my family loves Plowboys so much I just had too! The pulled pork sandwich topped with creamy slaw is to die for! Delicious fries, very generous portion size...we always share. My husband loves the burnt ends...theyre not chopped small but have a nice char and flavor. The place is clean and well kept and just the smell gets my mouth watering! Love love love plowboys!!!

Great catering!! Thank you to Plowboys, who did an amazing job feeding 200+ people on 3 shifts! Food was as incredible as it is in restaurants, very generous portions, hot and ready to go, even at our 3am Christmas luncheon. We only gave them a few days notice and they delivered some of the very best catering service we have ever had. We will definitely be using them in the future for all of our needs.

Clean restaurant with decent dining area. I had the brisket combo with bbq baked beans and mac & cheese. The mac had great flavor, but lacked texture (just creamy). The beans had a strange flavor that overpowered the rest...perhaps vinegar? The brisket was quite good and the portion was huge. The 3 bbq sauces are disappointing. Not spicy at all, even in the spicy one.

The location was clean, the food was fast and the staff was very friendly. I was not overly impressed with the flavor of the food. Most of the meat was aggressively seasoned, but the pulled pork couldve used more seasoning. The sweet potato fried were delicious, though. We had a group of 10 and it was a decently priced meal and easy for a group with kids.
