Jethros is hands down my favorite wing shop in des moines. The wings are large, smoky and juicy. They have an assortment of flavors and a special monthly sauce to boot. The monthly sauce changes every month and is hit or miss. Sometimes i wish they hadnt been invented and sometimes i wish they would become part of the menu, but its always a nice surprise to try out. Service is usually very quick here and the management is top notch. Half price wings on Tuesdays are the best and half price boneless wings on Thursdays arent bad either. This is a nice sports venue as well. Avoid peak hours on half price days as the wait can be long. This is always the first place i suggest when family and friends are visiting.

Chicken wing quality - 9/10. Itd be nice to have a little more sauce on the wings but I cant complain. They were delicous. Ribs quality - 7/10. A little dry and didnt peel off the bone that easily (hence the 7) but very solid otherwise. One thing I looked forward to was the jalapeño cream corn which turned out to be pretty gross...Unless you like the taste of licking a charred log. All smoke flavor and nothing else. Highly recommended picking a different side. Breakfasts are hearty, delicious and served quickly. Really nice waitstaff in my couple experiences. All in all, a solid choice for any meal.

Since the Jambalaya is right in the name of the restaurant, Ill start with that. The Jambalaya is a red style, which I dont personally prefer. There is not enough rice to call it Jambalaya (rice should be the principle ingredient) but it was pretty tasty when I reheated it and added it to a couple cups of rice. Also a small serving would probably be a sufficient meal by itself. I dont when Jethros switched from using a 1/2 lb patty to using 2x1/4 lb patties, but they used to have one of the best burgers in town, and now they do not, the burgers are merely adequate.

This place is right by where I live and they have good drinks so Ive given their good at the very least a good ten tries. Each time, the meat has been dry and the "Cajun" dishes are under par to say the least. The tenderloin is about the only good thing Ive had here besides their mason jar adult beverages. P.s. the shrimp they sub the chicken out with on their Caesar salad was battered and fried, not boiled or grilled and came with a yellow dressing that didnt taste like Caesar! (Ordered yesterday, 01/22/17.) Our server Andres was lovely.

Great bbq. My wife and I ordered the half chicken half rib platter for 2 and were extremely satisfied. It came with 4 sides. The plate was huge and the slabs were pretty large portion. They serve them relatively unsauced but have a great selection of different sauces. The food came out quick and the service was great. We ordered just as they were closing and they were extremely accommodating .

Everyone raves about Jethros being the best BBQ in DSM. Hate to say it, but they are SUPER expensive. Sure, you get a ton of food, but if you want a decently priced meal that doesnt require a doggie bag or a stuffed face....go elsewhere. Also, not my favorite BBQ in the area. Hit up Smokey Ds, Cactus Bobs or heck, even Famous Daves IMHO. Sorry...it just doesnt live up to the hype for me.

Fantastic food, a large menu, and extremely fast and friendly service. Only have a 30-45 minute lunch break? No worries, youll have your food within 5 minutes from ordering in most cases. Jethros serves at fast food speed but dont let that make you think youre getting fast food quality. Jethros is one of the most popular BBQ spots in Des Moines for a reason.

Good menu, great flavors. LOVE the mac n cheese with everything I get. My one problem is with take out. The last two times within the last two weeks Ive gotten food to go, they have left the cornbread out (even when specifically ordered) and forgot ranch for wings when it was printed twice on the ticket. Overall a good place, but seemingly forgetful staff.

I had the Brisket Platter and it was amazing. The atmosphere is great, enough people there to get a good vibe but still quiet enough to have a conversation with the family (and enough TVs that you can see just about anything to wanted to watch). Good Beer, Great Food, Great Atmosphere! My entire family is looking forward to the next time we go.

Not the best BBQ on the planet, but certainly never disappoints. I love that you can get BBQ and Cajun dishes both with one entree! Portions are huge, so try splitting a plate of you dont want leftovers. Lots of sauces to try. Although theyre always busy, the place is big so you rarely have to wait long. Service has always been great.

New to the area...I was hesitant to go to Jethros b/c Im not a huge fan of BBQ. Glad I did though...their chili teriaky shrimp is delicious & the bbq rub on the wings is actually pretty tasty too. The atmosphere is just so-so, but the food/prices are reasonable for casual dining so Id definitely recommend trying it out!

Good luck getting service if you are not a man. The bartender waited on 4 guys that came in after me first- hard to miss me, Im 8 months pregnant. We used to go here to get drinks after work but my girlfriends and I cant ever get service. Also, check your to go orders-they have only got my order correct one time.

A staple of the area - always one of the top contenders for where to go out to eat. BBQ is awesome here, and breakfast is also one of my favorites in the area... but wish they brought back the a la carte breakfast items. Wait staff is fast, and wait is always short even though they stay fairly busy. Keep it up!

Wed probably give it 4.5. They burned the crispy chicken sandwich but had a new one out in under 5 minutes, much lighter and tasty. Everyone had good things to say about the pulled pork, the Iowa platter with brisket added and the melt. Portions were good, platter was enough for 2 with added brisket.

Nawlins version of the Jethros local chain. Had the shrimp poboy. Pretty tasty, especially after adding the ghost sauce. This was the best ghost sauce Ive had there. Heat was great and maintained a really great flavor. Service was fast when excellent. Another great Jethros experience

This is my go-to Jethros location (it is very close to where I currently live). They have huge portions (like all Jethros locations), great food, and a fun atmosphere. My favorites: Garlic Parm boneless wings, pulled chicken platter, sweet potato fries, waffle fries, chipotle ranch.

Call your order in! Not conducive to a quick lunch. Make sure you have at least 20 min wait to be seated. Make sure you are willing to wait for a bartender to take a togo order after serving the whole bar 1st with only a 1 person staff for a lunch rush.

Maybe a little overpriced, but consistently good BBQ with a wide variety of sides keeps me coming back. The brisket is always a favorite of mine, and the burgers are really good for a BBQ focused place, too. Whatever you get, you wont leave hungry!
